BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] This invention relates to an indoor air conditioner able to carry out washing and cleaning automatically, particularly to one having function of automatically washing and cleaning the interior of the housing and the inner members of the air conditioner after water and detergent are filled into the housing and starting a motor to drive fans to rotate to stir the mixture of water and detergent to flow. After cleaning and waste water being exhausted out through an exhaust port, the air conditioner of this invention is able to automatically carry out washing and cleaning quickly and conveniently for attaining effects of extermination of germs, removal of dust and deodorization.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] A conventional indoor air conditioner 1 is secured on a ceiling by means of screw members (A), as shown in FIG. 1. The conventional indoor air conditioner is provided with a machine body 10, wind outlets 11, wind intakes 12, filter screens 13 and fans 14. After working for a while, the interior and the inner members of the air conditioner 1, inclusive of fans, filter screens and a heat exchanger, will accumulate thereon with dust to become a hotbed for multiplying germs, which will be sent out together with air (either cold air or warm air) through wind outlet 11 when the air conditioner 1 is operated, thus affecting air quality and endangering people's health. Since the conventional air conditioner 1 is threadably secured on a ceiling and is very heavy; therefore, when the machine body 10 of the air conditioner 1 is to be washed and cleaned, several persons have to cooperate to detach the air conditioner 1 from the ceiling for carrying out washing and cleaning. After finishing cleaning, the air conditioner 1 has to be installed on the ceiling again, difficult and troublesome in disassembling and cleaning.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0013] A preferred embodiment of an indoor air conditioner in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1-5, including a housing 2, two fans 3, a motor 4, two filter screens 5, a heat exchanger 6 and an upper cover 7 as main components combined together.
[0014] The housing 2 is provided therein with a separating plate 20 bored with two wind holes 21 and having its topside bored with a plurality of through holes 22, and one side disposed with a heat exchanger-accommodating groove 23 and another side formed with two fan-accommodating grooves 24, having a motor accommodating groove 25 positioned between the two fan-accommodating grooves 24, The housing 2 further has a sidewall bored with a water intake 26, a water exhaust port 27 and an overflow port 28.
[0015] The two fans 3 are respectively received in the fan accommodating groove 24 in the housing 2, having their wind outlets 30 respectively aligned to the two wind holes 21 of the separating plate 20.
[0016] The motor 4 to be received in the motor-accommodating groove 25 of the housing 2 has two sides respectively set with a rotary shaft 40 connected with the fan 3 and having its outer side covered with a waterproof bushing 41.
[0017] The two filter screens 5 are respectively assembled in the fan-accommodating groove 24 and positioned over the fan 3.
[0018] The heat exchanger 6 is obliquely installed in the heat exchanger-accommodating groove 23 in the housing 2.
[0019] The upper cover 7 to be mounted on the housing 2 has one side provided with a wind intake guide plate 70 and another side disposed with a wind exhaust guide plate 71, and the wind intake guide plate 70 has an inner wall installed thereon with two disinfecting lamps 72. Further, the upper cover 7 has one side provided with a filling port 73 and an exhaust port 74 for refrigerant, ice water or hot water of the heat exchanger 6, a detergent filling pipe 75 and an external air duct 76.
[0020] In assembling, referring to FIGS. 2-5, firstly, the two fans 3 are respectively fixed in the two fan-accommodating grooves 24 of the housing 2 to have the wind outlets 30 of the fans 3 respectively aligned to the wind outlets 21 of the separating plate 20. Next, the motor 4 is received in the motor-accommodating groove 25 and the rotary shafts 40 at the two opposite ends of the motor 4 are respectively covered thereon with the waterproof bushing 41 and then, the two rotary shafts 40 with the waterproof shaft bushings 41 are respectively inserted in the two fan-accommodating grooves 24 of the housing 2 and connected with the fans 3. Afterward, the two filter screens 5 are respectively assembled in the two fan-accommodating grooves 24 of the housing 2 and positioned over the two fans 3. Then, the heat exchanger 6 is obliquely secured in the heat exchanger-accommodating groove 23 of the housing 2. Lastly, the upper cover 7 is covered on the housing 2 with the filling port 73 and the exhaust port 74 at one side for pouring refrigerant, ice water or hot water connected with the heat exchanger 6, and the external air duct 76 aligned to one of the two fan-accommodating grooves 24 and having outer end connected to outdoors. After the upper cover 7 and the housing 2 are assembled together, a wind intake 80 is formed there between at one side and a wind outlet 81 is formed there between at another side, thus finishing assembly of the indoor air conditioner.
[0021] In using, when the motor 4 is operated to drive the two fans 3 to rotate, indoor air and outdoor air will be sucked into the fan-accommodating grooves 24 respectively through the wind intake 80 and the external air duct 76 of the upper cover 7, the external air duct 76 functioning to suck outdoor air into the room for keeping indoor air fresh. After sucked into the fan-accommodating grooves 24, the air will disinfected by the disinfecting lamps 72 on the inner wall of the wind intake guide plate 70 of the upper cover 7 and also filtrated by the filter screens 5 respectively located over the fans 3 and then get into the heat exchanger-accommodating groove 23 through the wind outlets 30 of the fans 3 and through the wind holes 21 of the separating plate 20. Subsequently, the air will be cooled or heated by the heat exchanger 6 and then sent out through the wind outlet 81, thus attaining an effect of regulating indoor temperature.
[0022] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, to wash and clean the interior of the housing 2 and the inner members of the air conditioner, such as the fans 3, the filter screens 5 and the heat exchanger 6, only fill fresh water into the interior of the housing 2 through the water intake 26 at the sidewall of the housing 2 and further fill detergent into the interior of the housing 2 through the detergent filling pipe 75 of the upper cover 7, letting the detergent mixed with the fresh water. Then, the mixture of detergent and water in the heat exchanger-accommodating groove 23 will flow into the fan-accommodating grooves 24 at another side of the housing 2 through the wind holes 21 and the through holes 22 of the separating plate 20, letting the interior of the housing 2 and the inner members all soaked in the mixture of detergent and water and meanwhile, excessive water that is filled into the housing 2 will flow out through the overflow port 28. Subsequently, start the motor 4 to drive the fans 3 to rotate to stir the water in the housing 2 into powerful water flow for automatically washing and cleaning the interior of air conditioner and the inner members. After finishing cleaning work, waste water will be exhausted out through the water exhaust port 27 at the sidewall of the housing 2. By so designing, the indoor air conditioner of this invention can quickly and conveniently carry out washing and cleaning automatically at a fixed time, thus achieving effects of extermination of germs, dust removal and deodorization, needless to carry out detaching and cleaning manually, saving manpower and cost and able to maintain excellent quality of air sent out by the indoor air conditioner.
[0023] While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
