20090112585 | TIMING OF SPEECH RECOGNITION OVER LOSSY TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS - Recognizing a stream of speech received as speech vectors over a lossy communications link includes constructing for a speech recognizer a series of speech vectors from packets received over a lossy packetized transmission link, wherein some of the packets associated with each speech vector are lost or corrupted during transmission. Each constructed speech vector is multi-dimensional and includes associated features. After waiting for a predetermined time, speech vectors are generated and potentially corrupted features within the speech vector are indicated to the speech recognizer when present. Speech recognition is attempted at the speech recognizer on the speech vectors when corrupted features are present. This recognition may be based only on certain or valid features within each speech vector. Retransmission of a missing or corrupted packet is requested when corrupted values are indicated by the indicating step and when the attempted recognition step fails. | 04-30-2009 |

20090269941 | PLASMA-ENHANCED DEPOSITION PROCESS FOR FORMING A METAL OXIDE THIN FILM AND RELATED STRUCTURES - Methods of forming metal oxide thin films and related structures are provided. One embodiment of the methods includes conducting a plurality of cycles of deposition on a substrate. Each cycle includes supplying oxygen gas and an inert gas into a reaction space substantially continuously during the cycle. A metal precursor is supplied into the reaction space for a first duration. The metal precursor is a cyclopentadienyl compound of the metal. After the metal precursor is supplied, the continuously flowing oxygen gas is activated for a second duration to generate a plasma in the reaction space. The cycle is conducted at a temperature below about 400° C. The methods can be performed after forming a structure on the substrate, wherein the structure is formed of a material which is physically and/or chemically unstable at a high temperature. | 10-29-2009 |
20090280267 | PLASMA-ENHANCED PULSED DEPOSITION OF METAL CARBIDE FILMS - Methods of forming a metal carbide film are provided. In some embodiments, a substrate is exposed to alternating pulses of a transition metal species and plasma-excited argon. The transition metal species is reacted with a carbon species to deposit a metal carbide film. The substrate is exposed to the carbon species simultaneously with the transition metal species, or the substrate is exposed to the carbon species in pulses temporally separated from the pulses of the transition metal species. In some embodiments, the carbon species and the transition metal species form parts of the same precursor compound, e.g., a metal organic compound. | 11-12-2009 |
20090315093 | ATOMIC LAYER DEPOSITION OF METAL CARBIDE FILMS USING ALUMINUM HYDROCARBON COMPOUNDS - Methods of forming metal carbide films are provided. In some embodiments, a substrate is exposed to alternating pulses of a transition metal species and an aluminum hydrocarbon compound, such as TMA, DMAH, or TEA. 20100022099 | METHOD OF FORMING NON-CONFORMAL LAYERS - In one aspect, non-conformal layers are formed by variations of plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition, where one or more of pulse duration, separation, RF power on-time, reactant concentration, pressure and electrode spacing are varied from true self-saturating reactions to operate in a depletion-effect mode. Deposition thus takes place close to the substrate surface but is controlled to terminate after reaching a specified distance into openings (e.g., deep DRAM trenches, pores, etc.). Reactor configurations that are suited to such modulation include showerhead, in situ plasma reactors, particularly with adjustable electrode spacing. In another aspect, alternately and sequentially contacting a substrate, the substrate including openings, with at least two different reactants, wherein an under-saturated dose of at least one of the reactants has been predetermined and the under-saturated dose is provided uniformly across the substrate surface, deposits a film that less than fully covers surfaces of the openings, leading to depletion effects in less accessible regions on the substrate surface | 01-28-2010 |

20090170381 | Electrical Connector Structure - A new and useful electrical connector structure is provided. The connector structure is particularly useful in connection with a pin: socket type electrical connector structure. The connector structure is designed to make the connector members efficient to manufacture and capable of providing good electrical contact but which does not require the type of close tolerances of previous known connector structures. The principles of the present invention are particularly useful in forming a high pressure pin: socket type electrical connector structure. According to the present invention, an electrical connector structure comprises (a) a pair of connector members that are configured to be coupled together to produce an electrical connection; with (b) one connector member having at least one contact ridge configured to make electrical contact with a substantially smooth contact surface portion of the other connector when the pair of connector members are coupled together. The connector structure enables high pressure contact between the connector members, essentially changes the low-pressure nature of a contact interface to a high pressure one, thus lowering the contact resistance of the interface. It accomplishes this by applying the same amount of contact force to a smaller area of contact, thus increasing psi at the point of contact. Moreover, the connector structure of the invention increases the contact pressure between mating surfaces, decreasing contact resistance and creating more of a gas-tight contact-area which will help to inhibit the formation of oxides and other “tarnishing” films that may degrade interface performance over time. | 07-02-2009 |
