Description:

FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a protective cover for a fan.

BACKGROUND

[0002] A protective cover is mounted to a fan to prevent foreign matter from entering the fan to contact blades of the fan. However, current protective covers are sized based on the size of the fan.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0003] Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, all the views are examples, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

[0004] FIG. 1 is an assembled, isometric view of an example embodiment of a protective cover together with a first fan and a second fan.

[0005] FIG. 2 is an exploded, isometric view of FIG. 1.

[0006] FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the protective cover of FIG. 2.

[0007] FIG. 4 is an assembled, isometric view of the protective cover and the first fan of

[0008] FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0009] The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to "an" or "one" embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean "at least one."

[0010] FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate an exemplary embodiment of a protective cover 30 for a first fan 10 and a second fan 20. The size of the first fan 10 is greater than the size of the second fan 20. The first fan 10 comprises a hub 11, a plurality of blades 12 surrounding the hub 11, and a fan frame 13 for receiving the hub 11 and the blades 12. The fan frame 13 comprises two rectangular first boards 13. Four first mounting holes 1311 are defined in four corners of each first board 13. The second fan 20 comprises two second boards 21. Four second mounting holes 211 are defined in four corners of each second board 21.

[0011] FIG. 3 illustrates the protective cover 30 comprising a center pole 31 and two parallel protecting members 32 connected to opposite ends of the center pole 31. Each protecting member 32 comprises an outer frame 320, four connecting poles 321 connected to the center pole 31 and four corners of the outer frame 320, and a plurality of protecting bars 322 with different diameters. A perimeter of the outer frame 320 is rectangular. A cross-section of each protecting bar 322 is circular. A plurality of locking holes 3211 is defined in each connecting pole 321. The locking holes 3211 of each connecting pole 321 are arranged along a lengthwise direction of the connecting pole 321. Each protecting bar 322 is located between the center pole 31 and the outer frame 320, and is connected to the connecting poles 321.

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 4, the first fan 10 and the protective cover 30 are assembled by aligning the first mounting holes 1311 of one of the first boards 131 with the corresponding locking holes 3211 of one of the connecting poles 321. Four first fasteners 50 extend through the first mounting holes 1311 and engage in the corresponding locking holes 3211, to fasten the protective cover 30 to the first fan 10. The second fan 20 and the protective cover 30 are assembled by aligning the second mounting holes 211 of one of the second boards 21 with the corresponding locking holes 3211 of one of the connecting poles 321. Four second fasteners 60 extend through the second mounting holes 211 and engage in the corresponding locking holes 3211, thereby fastening the protective cover 30 to the second fan 20. The first fan 10 and the second fan 20 can also be fastened to the protecting members 32 of the protective cover 30 respectively, thereby enhancing the capacity of cooling.

[0013] The distance from the locking holes 3211 of each connecting pole 321 of the protective cover 30 to the center pole 31 can be different, so that the protective cover 30 can be fastened to fans with different sizes.

[0014] Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the embodiments have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and the functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in details, especially in the matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the embodiments to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
