Abstract

shampooing lounge chair for a baby, toddler or small child with a comfortable lounge seat while his or her hair is washed without wetting or messing his or her face, eyes or ears from water and soap. It can be securely placed in a bath tub or on the kitchen counter top. It is contoured for a child's body shape so the child can lie down comfortably. It is comprised of smoothly concave neck part formed on the upper section of the chair, a middle part for supporting the back and buttock with two raised arms and the lower part that extends downwardly to ground level for securing his or her legs.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002]The present invention relates to a device that is designed for shampooing children's hair.

[0004]A few shampoo chairs for shampooing children's hair have patented for past numerous years. The utility U.S. Pat. No. 5,007,119, dated Mar. 1, 1989, to Sumiko Yamaguchi, titled "Infant Chair for Shampooing", disclosed an invention which can seat an infant in a posture suitable for shampooing the infant by a bathtub.

[0005]The utility U.S. Pat. No. 6,318,804 B1, dated Jul. 31, 2000, to Linda Gale Brown, titled "Child's Hair Shampoo Chair", disclosed an invention that has an adjustable inserted neck rest and replaceable cushion lining for the adjustable inserted neck rest, chair back, and body contoured seat for added comfort. The adjustable inserted neck rest can be adjusted into desire reclining positions.

[0006]The utility U.S. Pat. No. 4,754,503, dated Apr. 8, 1987, to Ida M. Martin, titled "Shampoo Support for Children", is characterized a support frame with contoured neck support padding and back support padding located between parallel frame sides and a flexible mat for receiving the lower back and hips of a child. A back support end defines one end of the support frame and is positioned adjacent to and beneath the neck support, to support a net or sieve for receiving the hair of the child during a shampoo.

[0007]The utility U.S. Pat. No. 4,948,197, dated Sep. 20, 1989, to Dayna L. Sansing, titled "Child Shampoo Chair" has been provided as another example of child shampoo chair with a conventional seat and a conventional back section that can be tilted ction to assume various inclined positions. The legs of the child shampooing chair are to be adjustable in height.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008]An object of the present invention is to provide a child's lounge chair for comfortable shampooing. It is contoured for a child's body shape so the child can lie down comfortably. It is comprised of smoothly concave neck part formed on the upper section of the chair, a middle part for supporting the back and buttock with two raised arms and the lower part that extends downwardly to ground level for securing his or her legs.

[0009]The advantage of the present invention is to construct a lounge chair for a baby, toddler or small child with a comfortable lounge seat while his or her hair is washed without wetting or messing his or her face, eyes or ears from water and soap. It can be securely placed in a bath tub or on the kitchen counter top. Previous inventions either provided shampoo chairs for only infants, or not comfort enough for children, or similar to a regular saloon shampoo chair and not specially designed for small children.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0015]Referring particularly to FIG. 1, there is shown the child shampooing lounge chair of this invention which has a upper part that includes a concave neck section 1, a base section 2 and a inclined section 3 to support upper back of a child, a middle part 4 for supporting the back and buttock and lower part 10 that extends downwardly to ground level from the middle part.

[0016]The neck section 1 is located at upper part of the lounger (FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 4, and FIG. 5). It is concave and a foam pad can be attached above for the comfort of the neck insert. Below the upper section is the base section 2 (FIG. 1, FIG. 3 and FIG. 5). The base section 2 extends the upper section to the ground. The middle section 4 (FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 4) is concave a little to support and secure a child's back and buttock. Two raised arms 5 (FIG. 1 and FIG. 3) are structure from two lateral sides. A few holes 4A (FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 4) can be created in this section to allow water to pass through. The lower part 10 (FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 4) contains a smiling face including two convex eyes 8 (FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 4) and a concaved month 8A (FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 4). A raised edge 9 (FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 3) is formed under the smiling face for the resting of the legs of a smaller child. Section 2 extends laterally on both sides 6 (FIG. 1, FIG. 3 and FIG. 4) and connect with edge 9. It forms a small raised edges 7 (FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 4) on both sides of lower part 10.

Claims

1. A child shampooing lounger comprising a concave neck part, a middle part for supporting the back and buttock and lower part that extends downwardly to ground level from said middle part.

2. The child shampooing lounger of claim 1 wherein said neck part is formed by a concavity for the shape and comfort of the neck, an inclined surface for the upper back support downwardly extended to said middle part.

3. The child shampooing lounger of claim 1 wherein said middle part is concaved downwardly to secure the child's lower back and buttock. A few small holes are used for water pass through. Two raised arms from two sides are structured.

4. The child shampooing lounger of claim 1 wherein said the lower part extends from said middle part and inclines towards ground level. A raised edge is formed in front. Above said edge is a smiling face with a pair of convex eyes and a concaved mouth.

5. The child shampooing lounger of claim 1 is fabricated from plastic.
