Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001]1. Field of the Invention

[0002]The present invention relates to a device that is designed for shampooing children's hair.

[0003]2. Description of Prior Art

[0004]A few shampoo chairs for shampooing children's hair have patented for past numerous years. The utility U.S. Pat. No. 5,007,119, dated Mar. 1, 1989, to Sumiko Yamaguchi, titled "Infant Chair for Shampooing", disclosed an invention which can seat an infant in a posture suitable for shampooing the infant by a bathtub.

[0005]The utility U.S. Pat. No. 6,318,804 B1, dated Jul. 31, 2000, to Linda Gale Brown, titled "Child's Hair Shampoo Chair", disclosed an invention that has an adjustable inserted neck rest and replaceable cushion lining for the adjustable inserted neck rest, chair back, and body contoured seat for added comfort. The adjustable inserted neck rest can be adjusted into desire reclining positions.

[0006]The utility U.S. Pat. No. 4,754,503, dated Apr. 8, 1987, to Ida M. Martin, titled "Shampoo Support for Children", is characterized a support frame with contoured neck support padding and back support padding located between parallel frame sides and a flexible mat for receiving the lower back and hips of a child. A back support end defines one end of the support frame and is positioned adjacent to and beneath the neck support, to support a net or sieve for receiving the hair of the child during a shampoo.

[0007]The utility U.S. Pat. No. 4,948,197, dated Sep. 20, 1989, to Dayna L. Sansing, titled "Child Shampoo Chair" has been provided as another example of child shampoo chair with a conventional seat and a conventional back section that can be tilted to assume various inclined positions. The legs of the child shampooing chair are to be adjustable in height.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008]An object of the present invention is to provide a light weighted child's lounge chair for comfortable shampooing. It is comprised of the main frame and the fabric frame cover. The main frame is made of steel wire and the frame cover is a fabric mesh for providing the natural curve of children's body including the neck, back and hip while the fabric mesh allows water pass through.

[0009]The advantage of the present invention is to construct a lounge chair for a baby, toddler or small child with a comfortable lounge seat to rest while his or her hair is washed without wetting or messing his or her face, eyes or ears from water and soap. It can be securely placed in a bath tub or on the kitchen counter top. It is light weighted, compact and easy to hang or store. Previous inventions either provided shampoo chairs for only infants, or not comfort enough for children because of the material, or similar to a regular saloon shampoo chair and not specially designed for small children.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0010]FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a Comfy Shampoo incorporating the invention with a frame cover installed thereon.

[0011]FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the steel frame of FIG. 1.

[0012]FIG. 3 is a top view of the steel frame of FIG. 1.

[0013]FIG. 4 is a side view of the steel frame of FIG. 1.

[0014]FIG. 5 is a one end view of the steel frame of FIG. 1.

[0015]FIG. 6 is the other end view of the steel frame of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0016]Referring particularly to FIG. 2, there is shown the child shampooing lounge chair of this invention which has a shaped support solid steel frame 1 which includes a pair of shoulder frame support 2 (also as shown in FIG. 3, FIG. 4, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6), neck support 3 which concaves from 2 (also in FIG. 3, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6), a pair of parallel support legs 4 (also in FIG. 3, FIG. 4 and FIG. 6) which form a C-like shape, a pair of parallel support bases 5 (also in FIG. 3, FIG. 4 and FIG. 5) and a edge 6 (also in FIG. 3, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6). The neck support 3 is shaped as U for the comfort of the neck insert while two shoulder sections 2 stick out forming the U shape. As the FIG. 4, the leg sections 4 could be as the same vertical level as the shoulder sections 2, as well as extended to the shoulder level 2 or a little shorter vertically. The section 5 prefers to bend upwards a little for some curved shape while straight shape is also OK. The base section 6 can touch the ground and would be also OK raised upwards a little. The diameter of solid steel frame could be between 4 millimeter and 8 millimeter. The solid steel frame 1 could be painted or plastic painted with any color. The frame of the neck area 2, 3 and bottom edge area 1 and 6 are wrapped by a foam tube to give more comfort.

[0017]As shown in FIG. 1, the frame cover 10 is composed of a nylon material of fabric mesh which allows water to pass through. The frame 1 go through the edge of the fabric mesh 10 and sustains it so the fabric mesh 10 mounts along the frame section 2, 3 5 and 6. The fabric mesh 10 is contoured naturally with the child's body while a child is rested on for his or her hair wash. Part 10A is for supporting a child's neck while part 10Bs is for supporting a child shoulders. As the sustaining fabric mesh goes downward, 10C supports a child's back and 10D supports a child's legs if the child is an infant or supports the child's buttock if she or he is a small child. No matter the size of the child it would fit the contour of the child body comfortably because the mesh fabric will shape according to a child's body. The section 10 can be taken off from the frame 1 for machine wash and dry then can be easily put back on frame 1 through a Velcro tape.
