20110225959 | Motor Vehicle Having an Exhaust Gas System - The invention relates to a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an exhaust gas system, which comprises an exhaust gas line by means of which the exhaust gas can be removed from the internal combustion engine, as well as an exhaust gas recirculation line by means of which the exhaust gas can be recirculated into the internal combustion engine from the exhaust gas line. The exhaust gas recirculation line has an exhaust gas cooler and a condensate line for removing the condensate from the recirculated exhaust gas, wherein the condensate line is connected with a first end to the exhaust gas recirculation line downstream of the exhaust gas cooler in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas and with a second end to the exhaust gas line. When the motor vehicle is running, the back pressure at the first end of the condensate line is equal to the back pressure at the second end of the condensate line, so that any condensation water that accumulates can be removed without the exhaust gas flowing back into the exhaust gas line from the exhaust gas recirculation line. As an alternative, a closure element for closing the condensate line can be provided. Both variants provide a simple method for removing the condensation water without any necessity for expensive condensate traps or collecting tanks. | 09-22-2011 |
20110232613 | Motor Vehicle Having an Exhaust Gas System - The invention relates to a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an exhaust gas system with an exhaust gas line by means of which exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine can be discharged, and an exhaust gas recirculation line by means of which exhaust gas from the exhaust gas line can be recirculated to an intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. In the exhaust gas recirculation line, there is an exhaust gas cooler which can move relative to the internal combustion engine. Due to the relative mobility, the exhaust gas cooler can be located at a distance from the internal combustion engine so that direct delivery of heat from the internal combustion engine into the exhaust gas cooler is avoided. This improves the cooling performance of the exhaust gas cooler and enables the use of less heat-resistant materials. The invention furthermore relates to a method for operating such a motor vehicle in which a partial flow cross section of the exhaust gas cooler is cleared or closed depending on the operating state of the motor vehicle. This enables adaptation of the cooling performance of the exhaust gas cooler to the operating state of the motor vehicle. | 09-29-2011 |

20140231395 | METHOD AND DEVICE FOR JOINT-WELDING COATED METAL SHEETS - A method for joint-welding coated metal sheets in a butt joint. At least one pulverulent welding additive in the form of a gas-powder flow is added to the weld melt via at least one flow duct such that the gas-powder flow leaving the flow duct is directed towards the weld melt at a speed of at least 2 m/s, such that the welding additive mixes turbulently with the weld melt and flow eddies form in the weld melt. A device including at least one welding head for producing and/or focussing an energy beam and at least one flow duct for supplying gas-powder flow, the flow duct having a longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axis and the beam axis of the energy beam being at an angle between 15 and 75 degrees. The flow duct is adapted to set the gas powder flow to a speed of at least 2 m/s. | 08-21-2014 |
