20090199460 | BIODIESEL PURIFICATION BY A CONTINUOUS REGENERABLE ADSORBENT PROCESS - A quick, economical and environmentally friendly, “green”, process for the continuous purification of biodiesel (fatty acid alkyl esters (FAAE)) is described using a powdered, granulated or extruded adsorbent. The adsorbent is contained in a column system and is regenerated for reuse multiple times. The process employs an adsorbent such as, but not limited to, carbon, silica, clay, zeolite or a metal silicate contained in a column to remove the impurities from fatty acid alkyl esters (FAAE) or crude biodiesel in a continuous process. The process utilizes the adsorbent column system for the purification of biodiesel, rather than water or filtration, to remove soaps and other impurities entrained in a crude biodiesel. The crude biodiesel is contacted with an adsorbent packed into a column, or multiple columns in series, for a sufficient amount of time to remove impurities such as, but not limited to, soaps, metals, free glycerin, sterol glucosides and many of the other impurities that reduce the stability of biodiesel. The resulting finished biodiesel exiting the column(s) is ready for the methanol recovery process. Once the adsorbent no longer removes the desired amount of impurities, it is regenerated for reuse. The solvent used for the regeneration process is reclaimed and reused by recycling it back to the transesterification reaction. | 08-13-2009 |
20100087666 | Triacylglycerol purification by a continuous regenerable adsorbent process - An economical and environmentally friendly, “green”, process for the continuous purification of triacylglycerol (TAG) is described using a powdered, granulated or extruded adsorbent, which can be used in either the chemical or physical refining of edible oils and fats, both of which are traditionally used to refine TAG. The adsorbent is contained in a column system and is regenerated for reuse multiple times. The process utilizes the adsorbent column system as a treatment after chemical refining or before physical refining rather than water or filtration, respectively, to remove soaps and other impurities entrained in a crude triacylglycerol. In the chemical refining process, the crude degummed triacylglycerol (CDTAG) is first refined to remove FFA, forming a once refined triacylglycerol (ORTAG), and then contacted with an adsorbent packed into column(s) prior to deodorization. In the physical refining process, the crude degummed triacylglycerol (CDTAG) is contacted with an adsorbent packed into column(s) prior to the removal of FFA and subsequent deodorization. The CDTAG or ORTAG is contacted with an adsorbent packed into a column, or multiple columns in series, for a sufficient amount of time to remove impurities such as, but not limited to, soaps, metals, chlorophyll, and many of the other compounds that reduce the stability of the TAG. The resulting TAG exiting the column(s) is ready for the deodorization process. Once the adsorbent no longer removes the desired amount of impurities, it is regenerated for reuse. Such a continuous regenerable adsorbent refining process substantially reduces the amount of fresh water required and the amount of waste water generated to purify TAG and reduces the amount of solid waste produced. The result is a cost effective and environmentally friendly edible oil refining process. | 04-08-2010 |

20110061839 | Portable Heating Pad - A portable heating system used to heat a person while in cold environments. A heating unit containing a fuel combustion chamber and a heat exchanger oxidizes a fuel to produce heat. The heat from the oxidation process is transferred to the fluid using the heat exchanger. The fluid either boils or simply becomes less dense then cooler fluid in the heat exchanger and thus more buoyant. Convection moves the heated fluid upwards in to a thin bladder encapsulating the fluid and held against a person. The elevated kinetic energy in the bladder creates an entropy differential to the person. This differential allows the kinetic energy in the bladder to flow to the person thus warming them. The fluid now having less energy, now denser, flows back down the bladder to the heating unit by gravity. | 03-17-2011 |

20090287281 | Therapeutic Cooling System - A therapeutic cooling system used to remove trapped heat from between a person and an object pressed against the person. Such objects would include: beds, chairs and protective clothing such as body armor. A thin bladder encapsulating a liquid placed between the person and heat trapping object absorbs heat produced by the person. Increased heat transferred to the liquid causes it to expand, become less dense and thus more buoyant than the cooler liquid in the bladder. Convection moves heated liquid upwards towards a thermoelectrically driven cooling unit. When the warmed liquid reaches the cooling unit thermoelectric devices pull heat from the liquid and push it in to a heat sink where is it can expelled from the system. The cooled liquid, now denser, flows back down the bladder by gravity. | 11-19-2009 |

20140152333 | ENVIRONMENTAL SENSOR - A device for monitoring a working environment in which electronic circuit boards are present includes: a) test circuit boards with pairs of traces and circuitry for determining the electrical resistance between the traces, the test boards being positioned in a pathway effective for directing air across the test traces; b) control elements for controlling the flow of air through the pathway and for controlling power applied to the test board traces; c) data storage for storing data relating to acceptable electrical resistance between test traces; d) circuitry for comparing measured electrical resistance between two test traces to a stored value for the acceptable electrical resistance between two test traces; and e) an output for communicating the results of the comparison between the measured electrical resistance between two test traces and the stored value for the acceptable electrical resistance between two test traces. | 06-05-2014 |
20140262771 | TEST CELL - A test cell for analyzing residue on the surface of a microelectronic component includes a cleaning tip with an opening at one end for passing cleaning fluid into the chamber and for passing used cleaning fluid out of the chamber, and an opening at the other end to access a test area in which cleaning fluid may contact the surface of a component to be tested. A third opening for venting the cleaning tip chamber to the atmosphere may also be provided. A common cleaning/aspiration passageway communicates with the cleaning tip chamber through the first opening. A cleaning passageway provides fresh cleaning fluid to the cleaning/aspiration passageway. An aspiration passageway removes used cleaning fluid from the cleaning/aspiration passageway. An analysis chamber in fluid communication with the aspiration passageway has electrodes effective for qualitatively and/or quantitatively measuring residue removed from the microelectronic surface by the cleaning fluid. | 09-18-2014 |
20150226789 | TEST BOARD AND METHOD FOR QUALIFYING A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY AND/OR REPAIR PROCESS - A method for qualifying circuit board fabrication, assembly, and repair processes includes establishing primary assembly process specifications and secondary repair process specifications. A group of test circuit boards is assembled using the primary assembly process, with each board having a section of components linked together to provide functional circuits and a section of components daisy-chained together to provide non-functional circuits, and with each section also including SIR test patterns and CAF test patterns. A subset of the assembled test boards is then repaired using the secondary repair process. A sample of each set of the test boards is exposed to test conditions including thermal cycle test conditions, humidity test conditions, and vibration test conditions. Inner layer build quality, surface cleanliness, circuit performance, and solder joint quality are then evaluated using the provided circuitry. | 08-13-2015 |

20110185959 | Watercraft with Asymmetrical and Symmetrical Boat Hull - A watercraft that uses a hybrid hull that has two asymmetrical front hull sections that gradually transition rearward and form two symmetrical rear hull sections separated by a tunnel. The two front hull sections are longitudinally aligned on opposite sides of the hull's center axis and form a front pickle. Each front hull section includes a flat, vertically aligned inboard surface that intersects with a conical shaped span deck that extends along the bottom of the hull and terminates at a transversely aligned front landing door or front transom. The lower edge of each front hull section gradually curves rearward and downward forming a shape keel. The two rear hull sections are v-shaped longitudinally aligned with the two front hull sections with a narrow tunnel formed between them that communicates with the span deck. Formed on each rear hull section is a delta surface with a skeg attached thereto. | 08-04-2011 |
