20150075759 | POLYMER MANIFOLD AND METHODS OF FABRICATION - A variety of polymer manifolds and associated fabrication methods are described. The described manifolds can be used in heat exchangers and a variety of other applications. In one aspect a polymer manifold is formed by welding distal tips of a multiplicity of polymer tubes to a polymer retainer. The tubes pass through guide passages that extend between opposing faces of the retainer and the distal tip of each tube is welded to a manifold face of the retainer. The welds between the tubes and the manifold face form sealed connections between the tubes and the manifold face. In some embodiments a locking plate is positioned adjacent the retainer. The tubes also pass through the locking plate such that during assembly, the locking plate and/or the retainer can be translated or otherwise moved slightly relative to the other to hold the tubes in place during welding to the retainer. | 03-19-2015 |

20110036851 | CONTAINER CLOSURE - A closure for a container having a top opening bounded by a rim, includes a generally bowl-shaped body with interior and exterior surfaces and a hole formed on one side of the body. Extending about the body is a connecting section including a skirt and this connecting section seals the body to the container. The interior surface defines an interior space into which the container opens during use of the closure. The body is selectively deformable, upon manual manipulation, between an open configuration wherein fluid can pass through the hole and a closed configuration wherein one of the interior surface and the exterior surface of the body is sealed against the hole. In another embodiment, the closure is formed with a protuberance that projects upwardly from the top surface of the closure. A folding lip is arranged on the front of this protuberance and has a sealable hole formed therein | 02-17-2011 |

20080266580 | Scaling methods for binary image data - The embodiments describe calculating and store scaling information based on processing input binary image data. By manipulating data that is received in binary format, the most cost effective method for scaling may be chosen. The input image data is scanned, a resolution (e.g., for display or output) is determined and a scaling method is determined. If the input binary image data needs to be scaled down to a smaller resolution, the binary image data is processed and scaled and then converted to grayscale image data. If the image data must be scaled to a larger resolution, the input binary image data is first converted to grayscale image data before processing using a segmentation tag-based scaling method. The scaled image data may then be output to an output device, such as a display, printer, or image output terminal. | 10-30-2008 |
20090021791 | Compression of grayscale image data using multi-bit halftoning - A method and system are provided for reducing the bit depth of grayscale imagery using multi-bit halftoning. The halftoned image data may be lossy or losslessly compressed and stored in memory or transmitted over a communication channel. At the time of printing, the images are decompressed and reconstructed to a grayscale image data using Sigma filtering to preserve edges. Preferably, different Sigma filters may be applied based on contrast information within a local neighborhood region. Fuzzy edge detection may also be used to preserve edge features and prevent smearing. | 01-22-2009 |
20100310170 | THIN LINE DETECTION IN SCANNED IMAGE DATA - Disclosed herein is a method for detecting thin lines in image data. The method is performed by a processor to process contone image data. The processing includes thresholding a window of pixels established in the contone domain to generate a binary window of image data, and then determining characteristics associated with on pixels or runs of the binary data. The characteristics (start and end locations, length of on runs) are then thresholded. The processing in the contone and binary domain are used to determine if a thin line exists in the window of image data. The disclosed method produces better quality output images and reduces the addition of false lines in an image. | 12-09-2010 |
20100310178 | FUZZY METHOD TO DETECT THIN LINES IN SCANNED IMAGE - Disclosed herein is a method for detecting thin lines in image data. The method is performed by a processor to process contone image data. The processing includes thresholding a window of pixels using a first set of thresholds established in the contone domain, and then counting and thresholding the binary pixels using a second set of thresholds. The processing in the contone and binary domain are used to determine if a thin line exists and if a pixel of interest in the window is an edge pixel that is part of a thin line. The disclosed method produces better quality output images and reduces the addition of false lines in an image. | 12-09-2010 |
20110243372 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DOCUMENT ANNOTATION - A method for producing an electronic annotated document including embedding annotation information into an electronic annotation object having image data including an annotation, and producing the electronic annotated document using pixel information from the electronic document and the electronic annotation object. The annotation embedded information may be used to select corresponding pixel information from one of the electronic annotated object and electronic document to be provided in the electronic annotated document. A system and tangible storage medium having machine-readable instructions for producing an electronic annotated document are also disclosed. | 10-06-2011 |

20140049799 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC SHARPNESS CONTROL IN SYSTEM USING BINARY TO CONTINUOUS TONE CONVERSION - Embodiments relate to systems and methods for dynamic sharpness control in system using binary to continuous tone conversion. Image data can be processed in the image path of a copier, printer, or other device to enhance sharpness based on user settings. The image can originate in a high-resolution and/or high-color format. The user can select sharpness values to provide better rendered detail. A front-end high-pass 2D filter can be adjusted in response to the settings. A binarized version of the image data is produced in the downstream path. At the back of the image path, the image would conventionally be sent through a binary data to extended contone (BDEC) low-pass filter, set to a fixed level, to produce contone output, counteracting the user's sharpness settings. Instead of applying a fixed back-end filter, that stage can be dynamically adjusted to correspond to the user's sharpness settings, reducing the low-pass effect proportionately. | 02-20-2014 |
