20120151016 | Content delivery network (CDN) content server request handling mechanism with metadata framework support - To serve content through a content delivery network (CDN), the CDN must have some information about the identity, characteristics and state of its target objects. Such additional information is provided in the form of object metadata, which according to the invention can be located in the request string itself, in the response headers from the origin server, in a metadata configuration file distributed to CDN servers, or in a per-customer metadata configuration file. CDN content servers execute a request identification and parsing process to locate object metadata and to handle the request in accordance therewith. Where different types of metadata exist for a particular object, metadata in a configuration file is overridden by metadata in a response header or request string, with metadata in the request string taking precedence. | 06-14-2012 |

A biasing member biases the second clamp member toward the first clamp member sufficient to compress and frictionally engage the elastic material with the one or more electronic cables. | 10-22-2009 |
20090263992 | Blind Docking Electrical Connector - Method and apparatus for blind docking an electronic device or module with an electrical connector, for example within a rack for a computer system. A forwardly-directed power connector is secured to a distal end of at least one rail or shelf bracket for blind docking with a rearwardly-directed power connector on the electronic module. The shelf bracket securing the forwardly-directed electrical connector is included in a pair of longitudinally-extending shelf brackets secured to opposing vertical side walls of a rack at a common elevation to form a module bay. The electronic module may slide along the shelf bracket until a rearwardly-directed power connector of the electronic module blind docks with the forwardly-directed power connector. A boss or alignment stud may be included on the bracket to improve alignment of the connectors. The forwardly-direct electrical connector may also be secured to the bracket with a floating connection to enable minor adjustments in alignment during blind docking. | 10-22-2009 |

20090065012 | Materials and Methods for Manufacturing Cigarettes - Cigarettes are manufactured using modified automated cigarette making apparatus. Those cigarettes possess smokable rods having paper wrapping materials having additive materials applied thereto as patterns. The additive material can be applied as a coating formulation in an off-line manner to a continuous paper sheet web that is later used for cigarette manufacture. The additive material can be applied as a coating formulation in an on-line manner to continuous paper web moving through an operating cigarette making machine. The coating formulation is applied to the paper web using roll applicator techniques, ink jet printing techniques or electrostatic precipitation techniques. Liquid coating formulation are curable, and are virtually absent of solvent or liquid carrier. Radiation, such as ultraviolet or electron beam radiation, is used to solidify and fix polymerizable liquid components of the coating formulation that have been applied to the paper web. Heating and subsequent cooling of the coating formulation used to fix solid components of the coating formulation that have been applied to the paper web. Registration techniques are used to ensure proper positioning of the additive material on the smokable rods so manufactured, and to ensure proper quality of those cigarettes. | 03-12-2009 |

20100157018 | Display-Based Interactive Simulation with Dynamic Panorama - The subject invention provides a panoramic, interactive, seamless, intuitive, high-resolution and yet extensive simulation tool capable of simulating dynamic events that alter the panoramic view in response to the user's actions or inaction. The dynamic panorama simulation can generate and display novel scenes that are not limited to static “canned” content that has been previously photographed, rendered, recorded, captured or filmed thus providing great flexibility, contextual authenticity and liveliness and, in some instances, unanticipated and surprising but accurate developments in the simulation. | 06-24-2010 |

20090192700 | Method and system for starting system prognosis and diagnosis - A starting system for an internal combustion engine includes an energy supply device, a starting device connected to the engine and the energy supply device, and a controller connected to the engine, the energy supply device, and the starting device. The controller is configured to cause the energy supply device to supply current to the starting device and monitor at least one characteristic of at least one of the energy supply device and the starting device after current is supplied to the starting device. The controller is also configured to diagnose at least the starting device based on the at least one monitored characteristic. | 07-30-2009 |
20120310561 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ESTIMATING BATTERY HEALTH - A method of estimating a state of health of a battery is disclosed. The method may include receiving information indicative of a history of electricity received by and discharged from the battery during a time period. The method may also include using the received information to estimate peaks in the electricity during the time period. Additionally, the method may include using an information processor to determine a parameter indicative of an estimated state of health of the battery based at least in part on an estimated magnitude of electricity at each of a plurality of the estimated peaks. | 12-06-2012 |
20130169232 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MONITORING AND USING AN ELECTRICAL ENERGY-STORAGE DEVICE - One disclosed embodiment relates to a method of estimating a state of health of an electrical energy-storage device. The method may include receiving information indicative of a history of a voltage level of the electrical energy-storage device during a history of charging and discharging of the electrical energy-storage device. The method may also include using the received information to estimate at least one peak or valley in the history of the voltage level. Additionally, the method may include using at least one information-processing device to generate an estimate of a state of health of the electrical energy-storage device based on the at least one estimated peak or valley. | 07-04-2013 |
