20100282885 | GRINDING CONTAINER FOR THE SELECTIVE COLLECTION OF SOLID URBAN WASTE AND VARIOUS SPECIAL ADAPTATIONS FOR EACH TYPE OF WASTE, INCLUDING A DOMESTIC GRINDING CONTAINER - This specialized domestic grinding containers system, the manual version of which is completely environmentally friendly, allows us to reduce the excessive amount of varied urban waste generated by daily consumption, using a system of piercing/crushing blades which are set transversely on their supporting shafts and which, when sufficiently locked together, enable waste to be reduced to one-fifth of the initial volume thereof by specially arranging the shafts and using different types of blades and hammers for each type of waste (plastic, cans, tetra bricks, paper, glass, organic material and another combined blade system for reject waste). The system is essentially characterized in that the movement of the blades is produced by a particular system of gearwheels which, in the manual version, are actuated by opening the upper lid which, facilitated by a simple pedal which assists in opening said lid, actuates the lateral toothed cylinders located inside the container which in turn actuate the gearwheels located inside each of the lateral cylinders which, located at each of the ends of the four blade shafts thereof, rotate the shafts in a special manner in order to actuate a grinding function and to draw waste into the container, greatly reducing the volume thereof. The specialized manual and electric grinding containers and the different stationary and mobile embodiments intended for domestic use reduce the significant time and monetary costs involved in transporting said waste both from homes to containers on public roads and from such public containers to the respective recycling plants thereof. Waste recycling plays a role in preventing the transformation of more natural resources and reducing the abuse of more scarce natural resources and is facilitated through the use of these specific types of grinding containers having the aforementioned specialized blade systems. Thanks to the dual function comprising the lateral oblique torsion and elastic rotation of each blade independently of one another, said containers can help to achieve the recycling objectives imposed by Directive 2004/12/Econ the member states of the European Union, in its second transposition phase, and all that is needed is the will to grind waste (FIGS. | 11-11-2010 |

20110230568 | HEATING OF POLYMERS AND OTHER MATERIALS USING RADIATION FOR DRUG DELIVERY AND OTHER APPLICATIONS - The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for releasing a releasable species from an article using an external trigger, for example, using infrared or near-infrared radiation. Such systems and methods may be useful, for example in biological applications (e.g., as an implant within a subject), industrial applications, commercial applications, or the like. One aspect of the invention is generally directed to an article containing a radiation-sensitive polymer or other radiation-sensitive material. Exposure of the radiation-sensitive material to radiation such as infrared or near-infrared radiation may cause the material to increase in temperature. This increase in temperature may be used, in some cases, to cause the release of a drug or other releasable species from the article. For instance, a drug may be contained in a heat-sensitive material positioned in thermal communication with the radiation-sensitive material, or a drug may be contained within an enclosure that is isolated, at least in part, by a heat-sensitive material positioned in thermal communication with the radiation-sensitive material. In another aspect of the invention, a receive antenna may be used to focus infrared or near- infrared radiation on an article. For instance, the receive antenna may focus infrared or near-infrared radiation on a radiation-sensitive material in the article. Such focusing may be useful, in some embodiments, to control release of a drug or other releasable species from the article. Other aspects of the invention are directed to systems and methods of making or using such articles, e.g., by implanting the article within a subject, methods of treatment involving such articles, kits including such articles, and the like. | 09-22-2011 |

20120257738 | CONTROL OF EXECUTION TIME OF TIME-DEPENDENT SERVICES BY DEFINING DIFFERENT TIME ZONES FOR THE SUBSCRIBER'S LOCATION, THE EXECUTION SERVER, AND THE SERVICE SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION - There are services that can be invoked by the subscribers, or triggered by a network entity, and wherein this invocation or trigger may depend on date or time of the day, namely, time-dependent services. Regarding the execution of these time-dependent services, there might be two problems with the determination of the execution time. The first problem is caused by the nature of so called “Data Layered Architectures” where the service execution servers, referred to as “Front-Ends” and the database servers storing the subscriber data, referred to as “Common Directory” are geographically spread over different time zones. As a consequence, the “Front-End” executes the service according to its own time zone rather than at the time zone where the subscriber is currently located or at home. The second problem is cause by the subscriber when he is roaming in an area located in a different time zone than his home time zone. For example a Subscriber has configured a Call Forwarding Unconditional Service with a time range everyday so that all calls received in that period of time are diverted to a voice mailbox, e.g. from 19:00 to 07:00 all received calls are forwarded to the voice mailbox. Let's imagine that the Subscriber moves to a visited network some time zones away from his/her original one, for example the period of time 19:00 to 07:00 in the original time zone corresponds to 14:00 to 02:00 in the new time zone. It means that the Subscriber stops receiving call at 14:00, so an important call might be diverted to voice mailbox. But also the Subscriber begins receiving calls at 02:00, when s/he is still sleeping. So the experience is a bit annoying. The problem is solved in that a Front-Ends server executing the Service might recalculate the service (execution) time with the applicable time zone. The applicable time zone is selected from the time zone where the Subscriber is located, SLTZ, the time zone of the Server executing the service, FETZ, or the time zone of the stored service date and time, SSTZ or SDTZ. | 10-11-2012 |
