20130335284 | EDGE-EMITTING ANTENNAS FOR ULTRA SLIM WIRELESS MOBILE DEVICES - Described herein are techniques related to near field coupling and wireless power transfers. A mobile device may include an edge-emitting antenna that offers ultra slim, all-metallic chassis packaging option with no cutout, uses lesser area, has robust mechanical strength, and provides EMI/ESD protection. In one example, an inductor coil is wrapped around a magnetic core and a pair of conductive layers is configured to interpose the magnetic core and the inductor coil between them to expose an edge of the magnetic core. The inductor coil being operable in a transmit mode to generate a magnetic field in response to a current passing through it. The edge is configured to enhance outward radiation of the magnetic field. Based on simulation results, the edge-emitting antenna occupies less space and provides an acceptable level of performance for coupling coefficients compared to conventional antenna. | 12-19-2013 |

20140153656 | INTERFERENCE MITIGATION FOR CLOCK SIGNAL TRANSMISSIONS - Methods and systems may provide for generating a data signal based on a local clock signal and converting the local clock signal into a pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) signal. The data signal and the PRBS signal may be transferred from a transmitter to a receiver via a channel, wherein a recovered clock signal may be generated at the receiver based on the PRBS signal. Additionally, the data signal may be processed based on the recovered clock signal. In one example, the PRBS signal has a number of timing edges that is randomized and less than a number of timing edges in the local clock signal per period of time. | 06-05-2014 |
20140184028 | HYBRID RADIO FREQUENCY COMPONENT - Methods and systems may provide for a hybrid RF MEMS component design including an electrostatic actuation and a piezoelectric actuation. In one example, the method may include applying a first voltage to generate a first piezoelectric force to reduce a first gap between a cantilever and an actuation electrode, and applying a second voltage to generate an electrostatic force to create contact between the cantilever and a transmission electrode. | 07-03-2014 |
20140220887 | NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATIONS (NFC) AND PROXIMITY SENSOR FOR PORTABLE DEVICES - Described herein are techniques related to near field coupling and proximity sensing operations. For example, a proximity sensor uses a coil antenna that is utilized for near field communications (NFC) functions. The proximity sensor may be integrated into an NFC module to form a single module. | 08-07-2014 |
20140273860 | METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM TO MITIGATE BROADBAND RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE - A radio frequency interference (RFI) mitigation module is provided that is coupled to a high speed data link. The RFI mitigation module is to reduce RFI caused by the high speed data link. The RFI mitigation module includes at least one resister, at least one inductor, and at least one capacitor. | 09-18-2014 |
