20130101186 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RIDGE-BASED FINGERPRINT ANALYSIS - In an automated method of processing fingerprint images, identity information is extracted from prints typically classified as having “no identification value” because of sparse or missing minutiae by capturing ridge information. Bezier approximations of ridge curvature are used as Ridge Specific Markers. Control points arising from Bezier curves generate unique polygons that represent the actual curve in the fingerprint. These polygons are generated for latent prints and reference prints and compared to determine whether a match exists. | 04-25-2013 |

20100045775 | Holographic Reconstruction System Having an Enlarged Visibility Region - The invention relates to a holographic reconstruction system for the reconstruction of scenes having at least one video hologram modulated wave front, and an enlarged visibility region. The system utilizes two-dimensional coded light modulator cells of spatial light modulation means and optical focusing means, which realize a Fourier transformation of the modulated wave front in their focal plane. First optical deflection means deflect the parallel disposed partial light waves such that their Fourier transformations appear as cascading in the focal plane. A spatial frequency filter located on the focal plane, lets each of the same diffraction orders of all modulated partial light waves pass, and second optical deflection means arrange the wave front strips next to each other at the modulated wave front, which reconstructs the scene. | 02-25-2010 |
20110063289 | DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING STEREOSCOPIC IMAGES - The invention relates to a device for displaying images, in particular three-dimensional images, in a reconstruction space using spatial points that are points of intersection of at least two intersecting light beam bundles. The device comprises an image display unit having image pixels for displaying image information and a beam alignment unit. The beam alignment unit emits the light beam bundle issuing from the image display unit in pre-defined directions so that at the points of intersection thereof at least one spatial point can be produced in the reconstruction space. The light beam bundles leaving the at least one spatial point are directed exclusively to at least one virtual viewing window provided in a viewing plane. The maximum extent of the virtual viewing window corresponds to the diameter of the pupils of the eyes of the observer and, said viewing window tracking the observer during lateral and/or axial movement. | 03-17-2011 |

20090234441 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING DIALYSIS GRAFT INTIMAL HYPERPLASIA - To prevent intimal hyperplasia within a dialysis graft, a flexible tube comprising the dialysis graft is coated interiorly before placement with an anticarcinogen or mitosis-inhibiting agent for preventing cell division. The graft can also be irradiated with light energy by directing light into the lumen of the tube that has been grafted in place, thereby preventing or reducing dialysis graft intimal hyperplasia and reducing inflammation. The light source can be a light emitting diode (LED) or a chemical light source, i.e., a chemiluminescent substance for producing cool light energy within the graft to prevent or reduce the symptoms of GIH. When phototherapy is used, the body is exposed to light radiation at the site of the graft in sufficient amount to prevent undesired cell proliferation within the vessels, the graft, or surrounding tissue where the invention is used without detectable damage to body tissue. For various applications, visible light can be used, e.g., visible blue or red light or the combination is employed. Blue and red light can be produced by an incandescent lamp or other suitable lamp, an LED, a laser or chemical light source with wavelengths predominantly between about 300 nm to about 800 nm. | 09-17-2009 |
