20080222296 | DISTRIBUTED SERVER ARCHITECTURE - A method and apparatus for synchronizing network element state when a network connection between a plurality of servers is restored after a network failure includes a plurality of objects that exist within the network. Each object exists in a plurality of different versions, in which each said different object version results from modifications to an object made by different servers during the network failure when the servers are unable to communicate with each other but otherwise continue to function. Each object comprises a vector including a separate version number for each server, in which each server increments its version number in the vector when it modifies the object. An automatic conflict resolution mechanism provides, at each server, a most up to date view of all objects across all of said plurality of servers upon restoration of the network connection between said plurality of servers after said network failure. The conflict resolution mechanism reconciles the existence of said plurality of different versions of an object to determine which object version should take precedence over other object versions. Conflict resolution is performed when there are multiple versions of a same object at a server. The conflict resolution mechanism also comprises at least one tie breaking rule that is applied to decide which servers take precedence over other servers when determining which object version should take precedence over other object versions. | 09-11-2008 |

20110066841 | PLATFORM FOR POLICY-DRIVEN COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE - A policy-driven communication and management infrastructure may include components such as Agent, Server and Console, policy messages, and Relays to deliver security and system management to networked devices. An Agent resides on a Client, acting as a universal policy engine for delivering multiple management services. Relays, Clients additionally configured to each behave as though they were a root Server, Relaying information to and from other Clients, permit Clients to interact with the root Server through the Relay, enabling information exchange between Client and Server. Such information exchange allows Clients to gather information, such as new policy messages, from the Server, to pass status messages to the Server and to register their network address so that they can be readily located. Automatic Relay selection enables Clients and Relays to select their own parent Relays, thus allowing Clients and Relays to discover new routing paths through the network without administrator input. | 03-17-2011 |
20110066951 | CONTENT-BASED USER INTERFACE, APPARATUS AND METHOD - A Policy- and Relevance-based User Interface (UI) for an enterprise suite Console provides a Console Operator access to information about systems on a network under management. By means of such UI, a user experience is dynamically constructed within product domains particular to the system under management using content elements that flow from content sites into the user environment, populating user interface and driving the Operator experience. Specifications distributed with the content determine how the local Console UI organizes and presents information. The UI is further determined by each Console operator's content access rights. The UI allows for re-flowing the Console UI without reinstalling or updating the Console application, seamlessly integrating new content in to the UI and targeting language to specific working areas. | 03-17-2011 |

20100140947 | HIGH EFFICIENCY TURBINE AND METHOD OF GENERATING POWER - The present invention is directed to a turbine comprising a pair of opposing end discs concentrically aligned with a central axis of the turbine and a plurality of blades extending between the end discs. At least one end discs is adapted for engaging with a generator for generating power. The plurality of blades rotates in a single direction when exposed to fluid flow and thereby rotates the pair of opposing end discs. The plurality of blades are interconnected by at least one faired ring oriented parallel to the pair of opposing end discs and intersecting the plurality of blades, wherein the at least one faired ring is in concentric alignment with the central axis. The present invention further comprises a method for generating power comprising engaging the turbine with a generator to create a turbine generator unit and deploying the turbine generator unit within a fluid flow. | 06-10-2010 |

20090129928 | High efficiency turbine and method of generating power - The present invention is directed to a turbine comprising a plurality of blades that rotate in a single direction when exposed to fluid flow, wherein the plurality of blades are joined to the central shaft by a plurality of radial spokes disposed substantially perpendicular to the central shaft such that the rotating plurality of blades causes the shaft to rotate. The plurality of blades has a uniform airfoil-shaped cross section, where the airfoil cross section presents a non-zero angle of attack to the current. The plurality of blades wind in a spiral trajectory, rotating around the central shaft and having a variable radius along the length of the central shaft such that a distance measured from the plurality of blades to the center shaft is greater near the center of the turbine than at either end. | 05-21-2009 |

20150362364 | Apparatus and Method for Detection of Electromagnetic Radiation Using Optical Switches in an RF Network - Apparatuses and methods for identifying and characterizing an impingement by electromagnetic radiation on a structure's surface. An array of input and output radiofrequency transmission lines are connected by photoconductive switches that conduct only when exposed to incident electromagnetic radiation. Each input line is assigned a unique input RF frequency. If a switch is exposed to radiation, the connection between the corresponding input and output lines closes, and an RF signal is output from the output port connected to the closed switch, while if the switch is not exposed to the incident radiation, the connection remains open and no RF signal is output. By analyzing the frequencies of the signals output at a port, the location of the radiation incident on the structure can be determined. | 12-17-2015 |
