20100231190 | DC/DC VOLTAGE REGULATOR WITH AUTOMATIC CURRENT SENSING SELECTABILITY FOR LINEAR AND SWITCH MODE OPERATION UTILIZING A SINGLE VOLTAGE REFERENCE - A switch-mode DC/DC converter and a linear low drop out (LDO) DC/DC regulator are connected in parallel to drive a single load. Both regulators share a common voltage reference, feedback network, input supply and output such that the regulated voltage is identical during each mode of operation. During heavy loads the switch-mode regulator is in operation and the linear regulator is disabled for the highest efficiency possible. Conversely at light loads the linear regulator is in operation with the switch-mode regulator disabled, also maximizing the efficiency. Each regulator senses load current to automatically transition between the appropriate voltage regulators at fixed load current levels. The presented invention also includes a make before break transition scheme of the voltage regulators to minimize the voltage transients. | 09-16-2010 |

20110279098 | SWITCHING SCHEME FOR STEP UP-STEP DOWN CONVERTERS USING FIXED FREQUENCY CURRENT-MODE CONTROL - Novel circuitry and methodology for controlling a step up-step down switching regulator that produces a regulated output signal at an output node in response to an input signal at an input node, and has an inductive device, a plurality of switching circuits for providing connection of the inductive device to the input and output nodes and a ground node, and a switch control circuit for driving the switching devices so as to enable the power supply system to operate in a boost mode to increase the input signal, in a buck mode to decrease the input signal, and in a buck-boost mode when a difference between the input signal and the output signal is within a predetermined range. Buck-boost latch circuitry is provided for latching a transition between the buck mode and the buck-boost mode, or between the boost mode and the buck-boost mode based on a predetermined condition. | 11-17-2011 |

20090233709 | Software Security for Gaming Devices - A secure smart card or other secure modular memory device is plugged into (or otherwise connected to) a port of a game controller board internal to a gaming machine, where it is not accessible to a player. The smart card is programmed to detect an encrypted “challenge” message from the host CPU and output an encrypted “response.” If the host CPU determines that the response has the expected properties, then the host CPU verifies that the game program (an application program) is also is authentic, and the game can be played. The challenge/request exchange may be performed periodically to ensure the smart card is still installed. If the response is improper, then the host CPU will issue a halt command to halt play of the game. | 09-17-2009 |

20100293695 | ATTACHMENT OF A HOOD TO A GARMENT - An attachment system to attach a hood to a garment wherein the hood has a first portion to be attached adjacent an upper portion of a wearer's torso on a right side and a second portion to be attached adjacent the upper portion of the wearer's torso on a left side. The attachment system includes a first right side connector attached to the first portion of the hood and a second right side connector attached to the garment adjacent in use the first right side connector. The attachment system also includes a first left side connector attached to the second portion of the hood and a second left side connector attached to the garment adjacent in use the first left side connector. The first right and left connectors are attachable to the second right and left connectors by magnetism. | 11-25-2010 |
