20080262635 | Prosthetic Ankle Joint Mechanism - A self-aligning prosthetic foot and ankle assembly has an ankle unit pivotally mounting a foot component. The ankle unit contains a hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly having a piston which is linearly movable within a cylinder. The axis of the cylinder is coincident with a shin axis defined by a shin connection interface on the ankle unit. Bypass passages containing damping resistance control valves provide continuous hydraulic damping of dorsi and plantar ankle flexion, the unit being such that, over the major part of the range of damped movement, there is no resilient biasing in either the dorsi or the plantar direction. This confers a number of advantages, including stabilisation of standing, balance control, and improved stair-walking and ramp-walking. | 10-23-2008 |

The joint mechanism further includes a valve arrangement controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid between the chambers. The valve arrangement includes first and second adjustable valves for independently controlling dorsi-flexion damping resistance and plantar-flexion damping resistance respectively. The joint mechanism includes a first flexion limiter that limits dorsi-flexion of the joint mechanism to a dorsi-flexion limit and a second flexion limiter that limits plantar-flexion of the joint mechanism to a plantar-flexion limit, thereby defining the fixed range of dorsi-plantar flexion. | 02-06-2014 |

20150058992 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MALICIOUS CODE DETECTION - Embodiments of the invention are directed towards detecting and identifying malicious code injected into other legitimate web pages. The detection is divided into two processes. The first process is to detect a malicious code string within received web page code using a set of one or more criteria. The criteria include length of the string, as well as whether the string changes between received instances, and the status of the string within the web page code, particularly whether it is encapsulated between scripting tags, or otherwise indicated as being executable. The second process is based on using a proxy that will help in extracting and scanning the decrypted code against any malicious content. In particular, the second phase acts to remove the armour and evasion features that may be built into the malicious code, so that the code may then be inspected by the existing anti-virus or other host intrusion detection system (HIDS) present on the target system. Inspection may take place by dumping the memory contents to a file and then passing the file for inspection to the existing anti-virus or other HIDS. | 02-26-2015 |

20120295645 | DELAYED AND TIME-SPACE BOUND NOTIFICATIONS - Architecture that enables alerts and notifications to have priorities and time/space durations. Non-critical alerts can be displayed in a non-obtrusive manner and alert/notifications coalesced. Alerts/notifications can be assigned priorities, thereby enabling the alerts/notifications to be non-intrusive to the user. Methods include detecting when the user is using a mobile phone (or other suitable device) and then sending the alert/notification in response to the detected use based on threshold criteria relative to an accumulated sum of alerts/notifications, and an importance level (e.g., of each). Additionally, alert/notification priority can be changed (e.g. elevated, lowered) according to time (when) and space (where), thereby enabling the user to be intrusively notified based on the level, even if not previously signaled. Time and space bounds (criteria) can be assigned to alerts/notifications for merger/grouping and/or set to be auto-dismissed if no longer applicable. | 11-22-2012 |
20120316774 | AUTOMATIC NAVIGATION TO A PRIOR KNOWN LOCATION - The disclosed architecture facilitates the capture of data associated with a specific geographic location, as captured by a mobile device of a user at the geographic location, for the purpose of guiding the user back to that specific geographic location. When applied to vehicles or other types of user mobility (e.g., walking) the architecture automatically detects that a user has controlled a means of transportation to a stationary (or parked) state, such as associated with a parked car. When the stationary state is reached, the location is detected (e.g., using user device sensing systems). Detection can include recording images, sounds, speech, geolocation data, etc., associated with the location and/or means of transportation. The user can configure a reminder to activate at the location to assist in the user recalling the location when returning to the means of transportation. | 12-13-2012 |
20120317615 | USE OF USER LOCATION INFORMATION FOR REMOTE ACTIONS - Architecture that provides location broker services which share the user location with other parties (e.g., based on user consent). Stationary computing devices can also determine the location of the user operator and interact accordingly. In one embodiment, the user location is retrieved from the user mobile device (e.g., smart phone) and is transmitted to other mobile or non-mobile devices with which the user interacts. Moreover, existing infrastructure and systems can be employed using a device driver that emulates the user location so that any software that uses the location services does not need modification. | 12-13-2012 |
20130045729 | LOCATION-BASED PROMOTION OF APPLICATIONS - Architecture that integrates location-based information and application-driven devices (e.g., cell phones). Users can now be provided the most relevant application and/or application data based on the user location. Thus, users are assisted in finding the relevant application(s) to accomplish a task based on their current location. More specifically, given a location (e.g., business) registered to a service, the user's client application is automatically updated to comprise the data relevant to that location. Alternatively, or in combination therewith, the service can suggest installing a new application relevant to the location. | 02-21-2013 |
20140018094 | SPATIAL DETERMINATION AND AIMING OF A MOBILE DEVICE - Architecture that creates a multi-dimensional spatial model of a mobile device based on data obtained from sensors, such as associated with the mobile device, for example. The spatial model defines the location of the mobile device in space, as well as the device orientation (e.g., heading, and tilt). The spatial model is used to determine a target location (or point) in space at which the mobile device is aiming. The spatial model can be generated based on sensing subsystems that include, but are not limited to, geolocation subsystem (e.g., GPS-global positioning system), a directional (or heading) sensor such as a compass, and gyroscope information to calculate the device tilt relative to the target location. | 01-16-2014 |
20140024354 | PREDICTION FOR POWER CONSERVATION IN A MOBILE DEVICE - Architecture that facilitates power conservation in mobile devices such as cell phones using prediction. The architecture is an algorithmic-based solution that transforms infrequently-captured geolocation data of an entity into a continuous probable location approximation. Given the location history and additional data about the recent location of the mobile device, the current location of the device can be estimated with some probability. Additionally, given the location history and additional data about the recent location of the device, the probability of the device actually being at a given point on a map is computed. | 01-23-2014 |

20160072768 | Cellular-call activated, mechanical interrupt device for a wired connection to the Internet - The present invention includes an Internet-kill switch for physically opening and closing a first Internet connection. The switch receives a remote signal via either a second, dedicated and independent Internet connection or by a cellular (voice) phone connection. A solenoid controlled electromechanical switch opens and closes a physical switch that creates a circuit or cuts a circuit that includes an Internet feed line. The switch arranges between an upstream apparatus such as an Internet modem and a downstream apparatus such as a router. When a cellular module receives a first activation code from a remote source, the solenoid closes the switch, enabling the downstream apparatus to connect normally to the Internet. When the cellular module receives a second activation code the solenoid opens the switch thus physically severing communication between the upstream apparatus and downstream apparatus, thus killing the Internet connection. | 03-10-2016 |

A first voltage measurement, corresponding to a first line-side voltage across the transformer's secondary coil, is generated on the isolated side, e.g., using an isolated-side auxiliary transformer coil. The load is characterized based on the first voltage measurement and the first frequency. To compensate for voltage offset, a second voltage measurement can be generated corresponding to a second frequency of the switching signal, where the load is then characterized based on the first and second voltage measurements and frequencies. | 10-02-2008 |
