20080288913 | Software Cinema - The invention comprises a system and method for employing video in development processes. A new theory of operation for mapping video to formal models is disclosed. The present invention combines a runtime component and an object memory with an transformer component and offers several inputs and outputs. At least one capture device allows input of video. Video is structurally decomposed into shots and annotated following a semiology-based video model and stored in object memory. A runtime component determines the shots that are played back on one or more displays. A spectator may influence the runtime component by changing its state via at least one controller. One or more downstream development processes can access the object memory to extract customary models for requirements specification. The present invention can play a useful role for development teams that are distributed over large areas by providing common reference points in shots representing the application domain. Our invention thus aids in bridging the gap between envisioned reality and implemented systems. Employing video increases the buy-in of all stakeholders and offers better grounds for making design trade-offs by offering potential end-user to explore possible design alternatives during development. It is also more natural to said end-users than judging established models in format notations for requirements specification and ultimately enhances the quality of the entire development process. | 11-20-2008 |

20090069594 | Process and Catalyst for Oxidizing Aromatic Compounds - Catalytic compositions for conversion of substituted aromatic feed materials to oxidized products comprising aromatic carboxylic acid derivatives of the substituted aromatic feed materials comprise at least two metal or metalloid elements, at least one of which is palladium, platinum, vanadium or titanium, and at least one of which is a Group 5, 6, 14 or 15 metal or metalloid. A process for oxidizing substituted aromatic feed materials comprises contacting the feed material with oxygen in the presence of such a catalytic composition in a liquid reaction mixture. | 03-12-2009 |
20090088585 | Process and Catalyst for Oxidizing Aromatic Compounds - Catalytic compositions for conversion of substituted aromatic feed materials to oxidized products comprising aromatic carboxylic acid derivatives of the substituted aromatic feed materials comprise a combination comprising a palladium component, an antimony component and/or a bismuth component, and one or more Group 4, 5, 6 or 14 metal or metalloid components. A process for oxidizing substituted aromatic feed materials comprises contacting the feed material with oxygen in the presence of such a catalytic composition in a liquid reaction mixture. | 04-02-2009 |
20090118536 | Process for the Production of Aromatic Carboxylic Acids in Water - A process is disclosed for producing at least one aromatic carboxylic acid by contacting a liquid reaction mixture comprising an aromatic feedstock and water with oxygen in the presence of a bromine-free metal catalyst composition wherein the metal catalyst composition has activity in the absence of bromine for oxidation of the aromatic feedstock with at least 80% conversion to oxidized aromatic derivatives of the aromatic feedstock and with at least 80% selectivity to the aromatic carboxylic acid. This process operates in water without the use of bromine at temperatures and residence times substantially the same as conventional processes for aromatic carboxylic acid manufacture, as well as with less total burning and with yields to product equivalent or higher than conventional processes. | 05-07-2009 |
20120178964 | Catalyst, Use Thereof and Process of Hydrogenating Aryl Aldehydes - This invention provides a catalyst and the use thereof and a process for hydrogenating carboxyaryl aldehydes with selectivity to hydroxyalkylaryl monocarboxylic acids. The catalyst comprises iridium. | 07-12-2012 |

20080300507 | Biopsy Needle - A biopsy needle includes tissue capture elements within the needle lumen to help hold a tissue sample within the needle and maintain its integrity. According to one aspect, several flexible members form a structure that allows tissue to enter the lumen during advancement of the needle into tissue, and prevents the tissue sample from exiting the needle during retraction of the needle. The flexible members may, in some embodiments, include cutting edges configured to cut the tissue sample from the target tissue mass at the start of needle extraction. | 12-04-2008 |

20080246209 | Method and Device for Separating Printing Plates from a Stack - In order to separate printing plates and intermediate layers present in pairs, suckers having a delimiting device are known which, on the basis of the different flexibility of intermediate layers and printing plates, permit these to be separated from one another. For particularly thin intermediate layers, this configuration reaches its limits. Accordingly, by moving a suction element slowly downward at a speed V | 10-09-2008 |
