20090065297 | DUAL ACTION INLET DOOR AND METHOD FOR USE THEREOF - An inlet door assembly and method for reducing noise from an auxiliary power unit (APU) contained within an aircraft housing is provided. The inlet assembly includes an inlet duct, an actuator, and a door. The inlet duct is configured to extend from the auxiliary power unit to the aircraft housing and has a sidewall that defines a flow passage through which APU noise propagates. The actuator is disposed at least partially within the inlet duct. The door coupled to the actuator. The actuator is also configured to selectively rotate the door between at least a first position, in which at least a portion of the door deflects APU noise in a first direction, and a second position, in which at least a portion of the door deflects the APU noise in a second direction. | 03-12-2009 |

20090262481 | APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE PROTECTION - An apparatus, system, and method provide electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in electronic devices by guiding electrostatic charges to a ground through ESD channels within electrical insulation sheet. The ESD channels are positioned within the electrical insulation sheet to provide electrical paths to ground having a lower impedance than electrical paths to protected areas covered by the electrical insulation sheet. Accordingly, an ESD follows the path of least resistance safely to ground rather than to a critical component within the electronic device. In the exemplary embodiment, the ESD channels are openings in a dome contact layer of a keypad where the openings are positioned over one or more ground areas of a printed circuit board (PCB) and the insulting material of the dome contact layer covers areas of the PCB that are protected from ESD. By implementing dedicated GPIO lines, grounded metal domes cover the signal pads in the target discharge area to protected the GPIO lines from ESD. Device components are protected from ESD without additional ports or insulation. | 10-22-2009 |

20130130865 | Bi-Axial Rolling Continuously Variable Transmission - Continuously variable transmissions are provided. Various systems provide for co-rotating power transmission or drive members for conveying angular velocity and torque from an input, such as an engine or motor, to an output, such as a drive shaft. Angular velocity and torque input-output ratios are varied by user manipulation of at least one of the power transmission members and resulting change in orientation of curvilinear power transmission members. | 05-23-2013 |

20140355905 | PHOTO MOSAIC SYSTEMS AND METHODS - Systems and methods for creating a photo mosaic are disclosed. The system and methods may generate a photo mosaic from user generated/submitted content. The system has an image collection module, an image processing module, an image placement module, and a display module. The photo mosaics created by the system and methods of the invention may be generated in real time. The system and methods may be particularly useful for the purposes of advertising and/or the creation of a bespoke art piece at a live event. | 12-04-2014 |
20140358281 | Robotic Smart Sign System and Methods - Described are robotic signs comprising: a sign post; an arm movably attached to the sign post, the arm having a positioning apparatus configured to allow the arm to rotate independently and contiguously around the sign post, the arm having at least one face comprising an electronic display configured to present display items; and a communication element configured to receive display item information from a remote administration application, the display item information comprising a direction and a description; wherein upon presenting a display item, an arm rotates to indicate the direction and displays the description. Also described are software applications for configuring the robotic signs, networks of the robotic signs, and advertising systems utilizing the robotic signs. | 12-04-2014 |
