20080234622 | Methods and Systems for Preparing Blood Products - The present invention is related to pre-connected disposable sets including a pre-connected bag containing a photosensitizer for use in a blood separation and pathogen inactivation procedure. | 09-25-2008 |
20090018483 | Infrared Sample Chamber - A body fluid analysis apparatus comprises a unitary housing containing a single-celled chamber and having an entry portal for communicating body fluid between a patient body and the chamber. A barrier coupled at the entry portal prevents selected components of the body fluid from entering the chamber. | 01-15-2009 |
20090198168 | CELL SELECTION APPARATUS - A cell sorting apparatus includes an extracorporeal circulation system | 08-06-2009 |
20090198169 | DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IRRADIATING BLOOD - A device for irradiating blood is provided, the device including a chamber having an elongate configuration defining a hollow interior, the chamber formed of reflective material, a tubular cassette sized and shaped to be received in the interior of the chamber, the tubular cassette having an inside diameter sized and shaped to receive a reflective core having an elongate configuration with an exterior diameter smaller than the interior diameter of the cassette to provide a space for receiving and holding blood stationary, and an array of light-emitting members arranged on the chamber for emitting light of at least one wavelength into the interior of the chamber for irradiating and treating the blood inside the cassette. | 08-06-2009 |
20100160846 | Ultrasonic Material Removal System For Cardiopulmonary Bypass and Other Applications - Devices, systems, and methods manipulate target materials within fluids, and may be useful for removing microbubbles and other materials from blood. Ultrasound or acoustic filtering waves may be directed across a flow of blood, and differences in density between the target microbubbles and the blood may enhance separation by driving the lighter matter upward for removal from the blood stream. A disposable acoustically transmissive conduit can replaceably engage an ultrasound transmitter to facilitate sterilization. Exemplary conduits have elongate lumen cross-sections and an axial path resembling a portion of a Mobius strip. | 06-24-2010 |
20110213288 | Device And Method For Transfecting Cells For Therapeutic Uses - This invention generally relates to devices and methods for ex vivo or in vivo transfection of living cells using electroporation, in particular high throughput microfluidic electroporation, and to therapeutic uses of the transfected cells. | 09-01-2011 |
20130060185 | Thermal Apparatus - Provided herein are an apparatus and methods to induce electromagnetic field in biologic tissue for thermal therapy. The apparatus comprises electromagnetic devices fitted to be releasably deployed inside a body, magnetic materials to be deployed in a body, and a magnetic centrifuge machine. An electromagnetic device includes a controllably flexible fiberoptic tubular device with a magnetic-flux-controlled electromagnetic assembly on its distal end. The electromagnetic device receives direct or alternating electric current. Implanted particulate magnetic materials in close proximity to said electromagnetic assembly form reversible magnetic vascular mold in target blood vessels by static magnetic field produced by direct electric current to said electromagnetic assembly. Implanted magnetic materials generate heat by alternating magnetic field induced by alternating electric current to said electromagnetic assembly. A magnetic centrifuge machine removes magnetic materials from blood by centrifugation under static magnetic field after completion of thermal therapy. | 03-07-2013 |
20130345614 | DEVICE FOR EXTRACORPOREAL PHOTO-ISOMERIZATION FOR HYPERBILIRUBINEMIA, AND METHOD THEREOF - The invention provides a device for extracorporeal photo-isomerization of bodily fluid containing bilirubin. The bodily fluid derives from a patient suffering from an elevation of unconjugated bilirubin. The device includes a sterile tubing which accesses the patient's bodily fluids (especially blood), routes the fluid into an extracorporeal chamber within which irradiation of bodily fluids takes place, and returns bodily fluids to the patient. Bodily fluids are continuously circulated through a single length of sterile tubing using an adjustable pump to regulate the flow, and as the fluid passes into the extracorporeal chamber it is irradiated by blue light within the chamber with an emission wavelength range of approximately 450 to 530 nm. This irradiation induces a photochemical reaction in bilirubin that changes its structure and facilitates improved excretion of bilirubin once it is returned to the patient. The extracorporeal photo-isomerization turns the bilirubin into a more readily excreted form. | 12-26-2013 |
