20080308184 | Apparatus for hardening the head area of a wooden baseball bat - An apparatus for hardening the hitting head area of a wooden baseball bat by compressing of the wooden fibers on the surface thereof which includes a base housing assembly with a track and a carriage assembly with a rail member. The rail member and the track are engageable together to facilitate movement of the carriage assembly with respect to the base housing assembly. A compression roller is mounted to the housing and a bat is retained to the carriage adjacent the roller. The roller is biased into abutment with the bat for compressing the wooden fibers of hitting surface to increase the hitting power thereof as the carriage with the bat mounted thereof is manually powered for abutting movement along the adjacent compressing roller. The bat can be selectively mounted in a bat receiving zone defined by a plurality of U-shaped retaining brackets mounted to the carriage assembly. | 12-18-2008 |
20100132839 | PORTABLE SAWMILL - The present invention provides comprising a carriage base, post(s) extending therefrom, a vertical slide for holding a powered sawhead on said post(s), and a wheel assembly(ies) on the carriage base for horizontal movement along guide rails. | 06-03-2010 |
20100180985 | Portable sawmill - The portable sawmill is constructed on a frame having a series of mechanisms for loading and manipulating a log thereon and removing boards cut from the log. Powered tines load a log onto a vertically adjustable log deck, the deck including powered mechanisms for turning and securing the log in the desired orientation for cutting. Cuts are made by a horizontally traveling band saw. The saw has no vertical adjustment. Board thickness is determined by the height of the vertically adjustable log deck. Cut boards are removed by a board sweep that pushes the board laterally from the top of the log onto a tray. The saw travels along the tray to push the board longitudinally onto a suitable platform for transport. All of the above mechanisms are controlled hydraulically from a single operator station on the mill, thus freeing the operator from many manual tasks and increasing production. | 07-22-2010 |
20110132494 | FLITCH SURFACING APPARATUS - A cutter head for surfacing a flitch, the cutter head including a shaft, a blade non-rotatably mounted on the shaft, wherein the flitch is surfaced by rotating the blade, a bushing including a bore, wherein the shaft runs through the bore, wherein a flange is eccentrically formed about the bore, a guide mounted on the flange of the bushing, wherein the flange axially offsets the guide with respect to the shaft, wherein the guide is arranged to support the cutter head against the flitch while the cutter head is surfacing the flitch, and wherein a radial distance between a tip of the blade and the guide determines a cutting depth of the cutter head, and wherein due to the guide being mounted on the eccentrically formed flange, the radial offset is determined based on a rotational orientation of the bushing about the shaft. | 06-09-2011 |
20110180181 | Gouging Machine for Double Reeds - A gouging machine for cane includes: (a) a base; (b) a cane bed, having a trough disposed parallel to a bottom surface of the cane bed, and having grooves on opposing sides thereof that slope at a groove angle with respect to the bottom surface of the cane bed, the cane bed being affixed to the base so that the trough is parallel to a top surface of the base and to a predetermined line; and (c) clamps, disposed on the opposing sides of the cane bed, each clamp having a tongue that slopes at the groove angle with respect to a clamping surface thereof, which clamping surface is adapted to grip edges of cane placed in the trough of the cane bed, and wherein the tongues of the clamps slidably engage the grooves of the cane bed so that the clamping surface of the clamps are parallel to a bottom of the trough. | 07-28-2011 |
20110180182 | Filiere for Double Reeds - A filiere for trimming cane includes: (a) a body having a trough extending inward from a flat surface; (b) a blade fastened to the body so that a cutting edge extends across the trough; (c) a hold-down mechanism positioned proximate to the blade; and (d) a force application mechanism in contact with the hold-down mechanism which causes the hold-down mechanism to press edges and a center of the cane against the trough proximate the cutting edge. | 07-28-2011 |
20120037274 | Laser Woodworking Machine - A laser woodworking machine for cutting wood is disclosed. The machine includes a laser cutting head having two sections structurally configured to include sensors for measurements of depth and of reflected frequencies, a laser unit for supplying power to the laser cutting head, a cabinet enclosure for housing the laser unit and including a table surface, a radial arm supported by a column secured to the inside rear portion of the cabinet enclosure and including a pair of radial supports extending perpendicularly from opposite sides of the column and parallel to each other, and a glider carriage secured to the radial supports and including two substantially flat surfaces above and below the radial supports so that the glider carriage slides along the radial supports via sleeves, the glider carriage further comprising support for the laser cutting head so that the laser cutting head is moveable along the radial arm. | 02-16-2012 |
20120145281 | ROPE MOLDING JIG - A stock-shaping machine is operable to shape elongated stock and includes a powered machine and a jig. The powered machine includes a feed mechanism shiftably mounted relative to a frame so as to feed stock through the machine. The machine also includes a shaping device supported relative to the frame to shape the stock during feeding thereof. The elongated jig orients the stock so that an axis of the stock is at least generally parallel to a jig axis. The jig permits rotation of the stock relative to the jig about the stock axis and longitudinal sliding of the stock along the jig. The jig is mounted with the jig axis at an oblique angle relative to a machine feed axis so that shifting of the feed mechanism causes rotation and longitudinal sliding of the stock. | 06-14-2012 |
20120180906 | ROOT RESURFACING ATTACHMENT FOR HAND HELD GAS POWERED EDGERS - A rotating cutting head includes multiple, separate, spaced-apart, parallel loops of chainsaw chains positioned around a central hub. The hub is attached to a spindle of a lawn edger. A safety shield is provided adjacent to the rotating cutting head. As the cutting head rotates, the chainsaw chains cut the tree roots. The rotating cutting head is used for resurfacing exposed tree roots to avoid tripping hazards and tree root strike damage to residential and commercial lawn maintenance equipment. | 07-19-2012 |
