20140215026 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANALYZING THE PERFORMANCE OF MULTIPLE TRANSPORTATION STREAMS OF STREAMING MEDIA IN PACKET-BASED NETWORKS - Streaming media network parameters are measured using an electronic system and displayed directly to a user or transmitted via an electronic interface such as an existing system network conduit, either in or out-of-band. A scalable hardware and/or software compute engine filters and reduces network parameters to simplify tracking the instantaneous and long term streaming media performance of the network. Hence, the entire set of active media streams is continuously monitored concurrently, thereby providing the ability to detect impairments as well as predict impending impairments. In one example, an existing packetized network conduit containing streaming media is tapped to concurrently and objectively analyze the streaming media streams, producing statistics (such as delay factor and media loss rate) and alarm-type events according to predetermined rules. Tapping the existing packetized network in multiple points provides comparison points and assists in pinpointing the source(s) of the impairment(s). | 07-31-2014 |
20140137145 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HANDLING STREAMING MEDIA - A system for handling streaming media at a customer premises includes a compute engine having a customer network interface device port and a customer premises equipment port, for installation between a customer network interface device and video destination customer premises equipment. The compute engine includes a processing module configured for receiving an incoming packet stream through the network interface device port, processing the incoming packet stream to generate stream data, forwarding the stream data through the network interface device port, and forwarding the incoming packet stream through the customer premises equipment port. Particular embodiments monitor and dynamically repair the incoming stream. | 05-15-2014 |
20120278829 | ADVERTISING METRICS SYSTEM AND METHOD - The present disclosure relates to a system and method for monitoring audio-video (AV) streams transported over a network. The system may include an AV probe deployed between an AV tuner and AV destination customer premise equipment. The AV probe may receive an incoming AV stream. The AV probe may generate a thumbnail stream by capturing thumbnails of the incoming AV stream. The AV probe may transmit, substantially in real-time, the thumbnail stream to a monitoring engine and the incoming AV stream to the AV destination customer premise equipment. | 11-01-2012 |
20120159561 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING IP-BASED VIDEO, MOBILE & REMOTE QUALITY INFORMATION - Video content information associated with video content is received, by at least a first computing device, wherein the video content is delivered utilizing internet protocol. End destination information associated with a reception instance of the video content is received, by at least the first computing device, wherein the end destination information includes experience information that, at least in part, includes information relating to a quality of the reception instance of the video content and a location of an end destination associated with the reception instance of the video content. At least a portion of the video content information and at least a portion of the end destination information, which includes at least a portion of the information relating to the quality of the reception instance of the video content, is selectively aggregated, by at least the second computing device, to generate aggregated information. | 06-21-2012 |
20120159560 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANALYZING AND COLLECTING INTERNET-BASED VIDEO SERVICE QUALITY INFORMATION - Video content information of video content is received by a first computing device. The video content is received from web sites and the video content information includes one or more of a video identifier, an identity of the web sites, and an identity of an internet service provider related to accessing the one or more web sites. End destination information associated with a reception instance of the video content is received. The end destination information includes experience information that, at least in part, includes information relating to a quality of the received video content and a location of an end destination associated with the reception instance of the video content. The video content information and the end destination information are selectively aggregated by another device to generate aggregated information. The video content information includes at least a portion of the information of the quality of the reception instance. | 06-21-2012 |
20120154602 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING HANDHELD TEST & MEASUREMENT VIDEO QUALITY INFORMATION - Video content information associated with video content is received, by at least a first computing device, wherein the first computing device is a mobile media device. End destination information associated with a reception instance of the video content is received, by at least the first computing device, wherein the end destination information includes experience information that, at least in part, includes information relating to a quality of the reception instance of the video content and one or more of the mobile media device and a location of an end destination associated with the reception instance of the video content. At least a portion of the video content information and the end destination information, which includes at least a portion of the information relating to the quality of the reception instance of the video content, is selectively aggregated, by at least a second computing device, to generate aggregated information. | 06-21-2012 |
