Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to game devices and more particularly pertains to a new game device for positioning a substantially see through panel on a forward facing windshield of a vehicle to provide target areas for insects striking the vehicle without obscuring vision of a driver of the vehicle.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a transparent panel. The panel is flexible and substantially impermeable by air wherein the panel is configured to be removably affixed to an interior surface of a windshield of a vehicle. Target indicia is positioned on the panel. The target indicia defines a plurality of target areas on the panel. The target indicia comprises fine lines such that the target indicia is configured to inhibit obscuring of visibility through the panel by the target indicia.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.
[0004] There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0005] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0006] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0007] FIG. 1 is a top front side perspective view of a insect target game device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0008] FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0009] FIG. 3 is a bottom front side perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure in use.
[0010] FIG. 4 is cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 3.
[0011] FIG. 5 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0012] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new game device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0013] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the insect target game device 10 generally comprises a panel 12 which is transparent. The panel 12 is flexible and constructed of a plastic material or the like to be substantially impermeable by air. Thus, the panel 12 is configured to be removably affixed to a smooth gas impermeable surface such as an interior surface 14 of a windshield 16 of a vehicle 18. Being transparent, the panel 12 does not obscure the vision of a driver of the vehicle 18 allowing positioning of the panel 12 on a forwardly facing windshield 20 subject to be struck by insects as the vehicle 18 is driven. Target indicia 22 is positioned on the panel 12. The target indicia 22 defines a plurality of target areas 24 on the panel 12. The target indicia 22 comprises fine lines 26 visible at close range from within the vehicle 18 but substantially fine such that the target indicia 22 is configured to inhibit obscuring of visibility through the panel 12 by the target indicia 22. The fine lines 26 may have a line thickness no greater than 3 millimeters. Alternatively, substantially transparent colored lines may be used. The target indicia 22 may be positioned on a front face 28 of the panel 12.
[0014] The target indicia 22 may comprise a plurality of concentric circles 30 providing a bullseye. Visibility through the panel 12 may be completely unobscured but for the target indicia 22. In addition, scoring indicia 32 may be positioned on the panel 12. The scoring indicia 32 is provided with similarly fine line thickness to prevent obscuring visibility through the panel 12. Alternatively, substantially transparent colored lines may be used. The scoring indicia 32 is positioned adjacent to respective target areas 24 wherein a scoring level is associated with each target area 24. Thus, insects striking an outer surface 34 of the windshield 16 of the vehicle 18 leaving marks aligned with the target areas 24 and a score may be kept. A scoring system may be utilized through which occupants of the vehicle may compete to obtain a desired total score.
[0015] Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 5, the target indicia 22 may comprising a plurality of crossed lines 36 defining an array of boxes 38. An outer edge 66 of the panel 12 may provide a border line 40 outside of the crossed lines 36. Opposite ends of the crossed lines 36 may be positioned in spaced relationship to the border line 40 to reduce the total area of the panel 12 obscured by the target indicia 22. The crossed lines 36 are perpendicular and evenly spaced wherein each of the boxes 38 is square. The array of boxes 38 may define three rows 42 and three columns 44 to allow alternating insect strikes to simulate player turns in a game of tic tac toe.
[0016] In use, the panel 12 is positioned on the interior surface 14 of the forward facing windshield 20 of the vehicle 18 to prevent actual contact of insects with the panel 12. Insect strikes on the windshield aligning with the panel 12 provide for scoring opportunities depending on positioning relative to the target indicia 22 and a scoring system which may be determined by occupants of the vehicle. A separate panel 12 may be provided for each person within the vehicle 18 participating in a game. Thus, the device 10 facilitates amusement of occupants of the vehicle 18 particularly for long trips.
[0017] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0018] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
