Abstract:

A holster comprises a body defining a receptacle configures to receive a firearm having a slide with an ejection port. It has a movable lever operable to selectably move into and out of engagement with a surface associated with the ejection port. The lever is biased into a position on contact with the surface to prevent the extraction of the firearm in the absence of an application of force to the lever.

Claims:

1. A holster comprising: a body defining a receptacle configures to receive a firearm having a slide with an ejection port; a movable lever operable to selectably move into and out of engagement with a surface associated with the ejection port; the lever biased into a position on contact with the surface to prevent the extraction of the firearm in the absence of an application of force to the lever.

Description:

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0001] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63/158,070, filed on Mar. 8, 2021, entitled "EJECTOR PORT LOCK", which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety for all that is taught and disclosed therein.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to ejector port lock systems.

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY

[0003] The ejector port lock system can be fitted into almost any semi auto pistol holster without a separate lock for each different gun model.

[0004] This system locks the pistol in as it is returned to the holster. In all other locking devices that we know of, the systems mechanism is concentrated from the rear of the pistol down to the ejector port.

[0005] The above disadvantage is addressed by a holster comprising a body defining a receptacle configures to receive a firearm having a slide with an ejection port. It has a movable lever operable to selectably move into and out of engagement with a surface associated with the ejection port. The lever is biased into a position on contact with the surface to prevent the extraction of the firearm in the absence of an application of force to the lever.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0006] FIG. 1 is a view of the ejector port lock, locked position, left side view.

[0007] FIG. 2 is a view of the locked position right side view.

[0008] FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the ejector port lock system.

[0009] FIG. 4 is a view of the section at lock.

[0010] FIG. 5 is a view of the unlocked position left side view.

[0011] FIG. 6 is a view of the unlocked position right side view.

[0012] FIG. 7 is a view of the locked position 2.

[0013] FIG. 8 is a section view of port lock.

[0014] FIG. 9 is a section view of locked position.

[0015] FIG. 10 is a section view of unlocked position.

[0016] FIG. 11 is a view of the unlocked position 1.

[0017] FIG. 12 is a view of the unlocked position 2.

[0018] FIG. 13 is a left side view.

[0019] FIG. 14 is view 1 --locked at ejector port.

[0020] FIG. 15 is view 2 --locked at ejector port.

[0021] FIG. 16 is view 3 --locked at ejector port.

[0022] FIG. 17 is view 4 --locked at ejector port.

[0023] FIG. 18 is a right side view.

[0024] FIG. 19 is a top view.

[0025] FIG. 20 is an isometric view.

[0026] FIG. 21 is an exploded view.

[0027] FIG. 22 is a view of the locked position 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0028] The major parts of this system are:

TABLE-US-00001 1--main body 2--thumb strut lever 3--pin 4--spring 5--housing 6--trigger guard stop 7--spacer 8--lock 9--lock edge 10--leading edge of lock lever 11--thumb strut lever return stop 12--main body return stop 13--thumb strut lever opening stop 14--main body opening stop 15--thumb strut lever guide slot 16--housing guide 17--top of pistol slide 18--pistol 19--pistol trigger guard 20--thumb strut lever button

Operation

[0029] When the pistol (18) is inserted into the holster the top of the slide (17) engages the leading edge of the lock arm (10) and as the pistol mover forward it pushes the lock upward against spring (4). The upward travel is controlled when the thumb strut lever opening stop (13) contacts the main body opening stop (14). When the pistol trigger guard (19) reaches the trigger guard stop (6) the lock lowers into the ejector port by spring (4) until the thumb strut lever return stop (11) engages the main body return stop (12) thus securing the pistol.

[0030] To draw the pistol out push the thumb strut lever button (20) to the rear, causing the ejector port lock (8) to move the engaging locking edge (9) out of locking position. The pistol is now free to be drawn. The thumb strut lever (2) is spring loaded and will return to the locked position. Horizontal movement of the thumb strut lever (2) is controlled by a guide slot (15) that rides on the housing guide (16).
