Description:

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

[0001] This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 62/990,672, filed 17--Mar.--2020, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to bedding and, more particularly, bedding for couples that is separated into two different sections, each section associated with one of the two opposing sides of the bedding, each section having independent design attributes. In certain embodiments, the two adjacent sections may represent juxtaposed indicia, such as opposing gender motifs, rivalrous sports emblems, contrasting appearances, or the like.

[0003] People spend about a third of the day sleeping on their bedding, such as sheets, comforters, bedspreads. Additionally, many more hours of the day are spent laying or sitting on the bedding when consuming entertainment, such as Internet content, video games, television, and books, as well as the time laying on the bedding to relax. And for hundreds of millions, two people are enjoying the bedding simultaneously a vast majority of that time, one on each of the two sides thereof. Yet, currently, bedding typically either has no design or an uniform design across its entirety. Thus, the possibly different or divergent tastes of the two users laying side by side cannot both be represented on the same piece of bedding--though they spend possibly forty percent of their time on said bedding.

[0004] As can be seen, there is a need for a bedding separated into two different sections, each section associated with one of the two opposing sides thereof, each side having independent design attributes. The bedding is divided into two sections by a line of demarcation, in certain embodiments two symmetrical sections, each section associated with a longitudinal side of the bedding. Each section may have one or more indicia thereon. The indicia may be representations, symbols, inscriptions and messages. In certain embodiments, the first side of the two sections may have a first indicia, while the second side of the two sections may has a second indicia.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] In one aspect of the present invention, a bedding for couples includes the following:

[0006] the bedding having two adjacent sections, a first section and a second section; the first section has a first indicia; and the second section having a second indicia, wherein said first and second indicium have an independent design attributes, wherein the independent design attributes represent juxtaposed indicium that may include contrasting gender motifs, rivalrous sports emblems, or contrasting appearances, and wherein the first section is made from a first material, and wherein the second section is made of a second material. The bedding for couples may be a bedspread, a comforter, a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and even wherein the bedding may include a pair of pillowcases, wherein a first pillowcase of said pair has the first indicia and a second pillowcase of said pair has the second indicia.

[0007] These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention;

[0009] FIG. 2 is a top plan view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention;

[0010] FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; and

[0011] FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0012] The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

[0013] Referring now to FIGS. 1 through 4, the present invention may include bedding separated into two of more different sections, hereafter known as "bedding for couples". Each section of the bedding for couples is associated with one of the two opposing sides of the bedding for couples, and each side has independent design attributes.

[0014] The bedding for couples 10/20/30 may be divided into two sections, a first section 12a/22a/32a and second section 12b/22b/32b separated by a line of demarcation 11/21/31. In certain embodiments, the first and second sections 12a/22a/32a and 12b/22b/32b may be two symmetrical sides of the bedding for couples 10/20/30, though in other embodiments the two sections 12a/22a/32a and second section 12b/22b/32b may be different sizes and shape. In yet other embodiments, there may even be more than two sections--i.e., a plurality of sections such as quadrants.

[0015] The bedding for couples 10/20/30 may include bedspread and comforters 12/22/32, flat sheet 14/24/34, fitted sheets 16/26/36, and sets of pillowcases 181/18b, 28a/28b, and 38a/38b. The sets of pillowcases may be pairs where each pillowcase of the pair reflects one of the first and second section.

[0016] Each section 12a/22a/32a and 12b/22b/32b may have one or more indicia thereon. The indicia may be representations, symbols, inscriptions and messages. In certain embodiments, the first section 12a/22a/32a of the two sections may have a first indicia, while the second section 12b/22b/32b of the two sections may have second indicia, wherein the first and second indicium have independent design attributes. In certain embodiments, the two adjacent first and second indicium may represent juxtaposed indicia, such as opposing gender motifs (e.g., masculine-feminine, his-hers, etc.), rivalrous sports emblems, or contrasting appearances, such as a straight line motif on the first section 12a/22a/32a and a diagonal motif on the second section 12b/22b/32b. Likewise, the first section 12a/22a/32a may be made from a first material, such as flannel material, while the second section 12b/22b/32b is made of a second material, such as 300 count cotton.

[0017] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
