BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(1) Field of the Invention
[0006] The disclosure relates to toilet seat devices and more particularly pertains to a new toilet seat device for rendering a toilet visible at night.
(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98
[0007] The prior art relates to toilet seat devices. The prior art discloses a toilet seat that is comprised of a luminescent material and a rigid, plastic material. The prior art discloses a variety of toilet seats that each include different types of electronic light emitters for rendering the toilet seat visible at night. The prior art discloses a variety of fixtures, each being comprised of a luminescent material, that can be attached in a fixed manner to a toilet for illuminating the toilet at night. The prior art also discloses an adhesive tape that has a luminescent pigment being integrated therein.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a toilet seat that is hingedly mountable to a toilet. The toilet seat is comprised of a resiliently compressible material to enhance comfort for a user sitting on the toilet seat. The toilet seat is comprised of a luminescent material such that the toilet seat is visible at night. A toilet lid is hingedly coupled to the toilet seat and the toilet lid is comprised of a luminescent material. Thus, the toilet lid is visible in at night. Additionally, the toilet lid is comprised of a resiliently compressible material.
[0009] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0010] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
[0011] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0012] FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a luminescent toilet seat assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0013] FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0014] FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0015] FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0016] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new toilet seat device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0017] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the luminescent toilet seat assembly 10 generally comprises a toilet seat 12 that is hingedly mountable to a toilet 14. The toilet 14 may be a plumbing fixture of any conventional design that is commonly found in residential bathrooms, institutional bathroom and commercial bathrooms. The toilet seat 12 is comprised of a resiliently compressible material to enhance comfort for a user sitting on the toilet seat 12. The resiliently compressible material may comprise, but not be limited to, rubber, silicone or other similar type of material. Additionally, the toilet seat 12 is comprised of a luminescent material such that the toilet seat 12 is visible at night. The toilet seat 12 has a lower surface 16, an upper surface 18 and a rear edge 20, and the rear edge 20 is hingedly coupled to a bowl 22 of the toilet 14. The lower surface 16 rests on a top of the bowl 22 when the toilet seat 12 is lowered.
[0018] A toilet lid 24 is provided and the toilet lid 24 is hingedly coupled to the toilet seat 12. The toilet lid 24 is comprised of a luminescent material thereby facilitating the toilet lid 24 to be visible in at night. The toilet lid 24 is comprised of a resiliently compressible material, including by not being limited to, rubber or silicone. The toilet lid 24 has a bottom surface 26 and a back edge 28, and the back edge 28 is hingedly coupled to the rear edge 20 of the toilet seat 12. The bottom surface 26 rests on the upper surface 18 of the toilet seat 12 when the lid is in a closed position. The bottom surface 26 has a central portion 30 and an outer threshold 32 of the central portion 30 is spaced inwardly from a perimeter edge 34 of the toilet lid 24. Additionally, the central portion 30 is comprised of a non luminescent material.
[0019] In use, the toilet seat 12 is attached to the toilet 14 to replace the toilet seat that was previously on the toilet 14. In this way the toilet seat 12 facilitates the toilet 14 to be visible at night without requiring a light source. Thus, a person can use the toilet 14 at night without having to turn on lights and subsequently decrease the quality of sleep for the person. Additionally, the resiliently compressible properties of the toilet seat 12 enhance comfort for the user.
[0020] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0021] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
