Description:
FIELD OF APPLICATION
[0001] This Utility Model patent application relates to a backpack that can be intended both for children and young people or adults.
PREAMBLE
[0002] This Utility Model patent application proposes a backpack intended for the transport/storage of different kinds of objects, which may consist of school supplies, toys and others, if configured and intended for children, but can also be used for the transport/storage of any other type of objects, if configured and intended for young people or adults.
[0003] The backpack object of this Utility Model patent application innovates by presenting a design that allows the complete removal/replacement of an integral part of its structure (a removable and replaceable front portion).
STATE OF THE ART
[0004] The current state of the art pertaining to the subject matter of this Utility Model patent application comprises a multitude of backpack models, which, depending on the target audience for which they are intended, may be designed with a configuration aimed at children, young people or adults, further having with regard to backpacks for young people or adults models that may have specific uses, such as, for example, backpacks suitable for transporting equipment, such as computers and others, or models intended for use in extreme sports, camping and others.
[0005] In general, backpacks that were originally simple and unstructured bags, made of fabric and endowed with equally simple straps (almost always made with twines) and which had a top entrance opening also closed by twine, are currently made up of a structured main body, usually made of durable fabric or other suitable material, on the rear face of which adjustable straps, belts, etc., are arranged.
[0006] In today's backpacks, the main body can present pockets, compartments or a wide range of divisions, details and accessories that aim to make their use more practical and wider.
[0007] Usually, the main body of conventional backpacks further incorporates a front portion attached to the main body by a sector of fabric or other material, which acts as a folding material to allow said front portion to be moved angularly to thereby open or close the backpack.
[0008] In conventional backpacks, the closing of the front portion regarding the main body is usually done by using a fastener sector that can have its slider pulled by a strap or pendant, one of the two sections of the fastener being sewn together along the edge of the backpack's main body, while the other section (complementary section) is sewn along the edge of the front portion.
[0009] In this case, the fastener, which does not cover the entire perimeter of these two parts, begins and ends at the boundaries of the sector joining the main body and the front portion of the backpack.
[0010] Conventional backpacks are designed and manufactured so that their front portion forms a cap-like part, which can be opened so that objects can be placed or removed therefrom, not envisaging that such frontal portion can be completely separated from the main body of the backpack.
PROBLEMS OF THE STATE OF THE ART
[0011] The backpacks belonging to the state of the art satisfactorily fulfill their basic function that consists in allowing a given volume of objects to be transported and even stored therein.
[0012] In the case of backpacks intended for children, it is common that decorative patterns or those ones based on characters from the universe of children be added thereto, thus giving to such backpacks a playful and child-friendly character.
[0013] It occurs that with time, past the initial moment and the novelty, children tend to lose interest in the theme with which the backpack is decorated, a fact that may pose a problem.
[0014] Conventional children's backpacks do not allow, so to speak, that the theme with which they are decorated can be changed later and, in this sense, parents are induced to acquire new models, which entail unnecessary costs and consequent premature disposal of the old backpack which, in many cases, may still be fully usable.
[0015] Thus, in the case of backpacks intended for children, they do not allow the theme with which they were designed and produced to be changed later at the child's request.
[0016] In the case of backpacks aimed at young people or adults, the thematic issue is not preponderant and therefore, the use of them can be extended for years.
[0017] Also, regarding these backpacks aimed at young people or adults, they also do not allow their configuration to be changed later or that they can be customized for a specific use by replacing part of its structure.
OBJECTS
[0018] In view of the drawbacks noted in the prior art, it is one of the objects of this Utility Model patent application to propose the backpack addressed herein, which can be configured and intended for children, young people and adults, having this backpack its structure defined by a main body with adjustable straps attached to its rear face.
[0019] The backpack proposed herein has its main body designed and manufactured to receive, through an innovative perimeter and integral fastener, the attachment of a removable and replaceable front portion.
[0020] It is a further object of this Utility Model patent application to provide a backpack that incorporates a removable and replaceable front portion that, in the case of models designed and configured for children, may be designed and manufactured to assume aesthetically a distinctive visual configuration, which may be allusive to an animal (stylized or not), child universe character, or other decorative element of interest and thus may be replaced by another model of a removable front portion with another distinctive visual configuration.
[0021] It is a further object of this Utility Model patent application to provide a backpack that, in case it is intended for young people or adults, incorporates a removable and replaceable front portion, which may have assorted patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories, and may therefore be replaced by another model of removable and replaceable front portion with another pattern and/or composition of compartments and accessories.
[0022] It is a further object of this Utility Model patent application to provide a backpack in which its removable and replaceable front portion, although fully detachable from the main body of the backpack, can be opened and closed thus allowing access to placing or removing objects inside the backpack.
[0023] It is yet a further object of this Utility Model patent application to provide a backpack that, by allowing its removable and replaceable front portion to be completely separated from the main body, ensures that such removable and replaceable front portion can be replaced with another one, with another distinctive visual configuration (in the case of backpacks intended for children) or another with patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories (in the case of backpacks intended for young people or adults).
[0024] Finally, it is yet a further object of this Utility Model patent application to provide a backpack that, by having a fully detachable removable and replaceable front portion of its main body, can ensure the innovative interchangeability condition between the main body and different removable and replaceable front portions, thus enabling the child, in the case of backpacks intended for children, to vary from time to time, and to its own preferences, the differently themed front portions, or in the case of young people or adults, the backpack can be altered or customized by use of removable and replaceable front portions with different patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
[0025] The backpack presented in this Utility Model patent application is defined, such as also verified regarding the backpacks belonging to the state of the art, by a main body made of sturdy fabric, on the rear face of which adjustable straps are arranged, said main body having a front portion that can be opened or closed to allow objects to be placed or removed from inside the backpack.
[0026] The backpack object of this Utility Model patent application, such as also verified regarding backpacks belonging to the state of the art, has a fastener as an element to allow closure of the front portion with respect to the main body, differing, however, by the fact that in the present case, the front portion is a removable and replaceable front portion and the fastener is of the perimeter and integral type, surrounding the entire perimeter of both the removable and replaceable front portion itself and the contouring edge of the main body of the backpack. Said integral perimeter fastener thus allows the removable and replaceable front portion to be both open and closed, as is the case with conventional prior art backpacks, but also allows the total and innovative separation of that removable and replaceable front portion relative to the main body.
[0027] In the backpack addressed herein, the removable and replaceable front portion can be designed and manufactured for models intended for children, to present a distinctive visual configuration that can be allusive to an animal, a character of the children's universe or any other decorative element of interest.
[0028] In the case of backpacks intended for young people or adults, the removable and replaceable front portion can be designed and manufactured to present a configuration with different patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
[0040] As illustrated by the above figures, the backpack presented herein, which is generally indicated by the numerical reference 1, is defined, such as also verified regarding the backpacks belonging to the state of the art, by a main body 2 made of sturdy fabric or other suitable material on the rear face 3 of which adjustable straps 4 are arranged, said main body 2 having a front portion which can be opened or closed to allow objects to be placed in or taken from inner space 6 of the backpack 1. Said front portion, unlike the one verified with respect to the state of the art, is a removable and replaceable front portion 5, delimiting the inner space 6 of the backpack 1.
[0041] The backpack 1 object of this Utility Model patent application, such as also verified regarding the backpacks belonging to the state of the art, has a fastener as an element to allow the closure of the removable and replaceable front portion 5 with respect to the main body 2, differing, however, by the fact that in the present case the fastener is a perimeter and integral type fastener 7, said perimeter and integral fastener 7 thus sewn so as to surround, respectively, all the perimeters 8 and 9 of the contour edge 10 of the main body 2 and contouring edge 11 of the removable and replaceable front portion 5, said perimeter and integral fastener 7 thus allows the removable and replaceable front portion 5 to be both open and closed, such as the backpacks belonging to the state of the art, as also allows for innovative separation of the removable and replaceable front portion 5 from the main body 2.
[0042] In the backpack 1 addressed herein, the removable and replaceable front portion 5 may be designed and manufactured to present, in the case of a model intended for children 1A, as depicted in FIGS. 1 to 8, a distinctive and differentiated visual configuration 12, which can either be allusive to an animal, a children's universe character, or any other decorative element of interest.
[0043] In the case of the example depicted in FIGS. 1 to 6, the removable and replaceable front portion 5 has a visual configuration 12 that stylistically reproduces an alligator 13, said visual configuration 12 includes a visual pattern print 13A referring to the face and belly of the animal and appliques of 13B and 13C, respectively referring to the hind paws and teeth of the animal.
[0044] In the example depicted in this Utility Model patent application, the removable and replaceable front portion 5 may be exchanged for another model of removable and replaceable front portion 5, having a distinctive and differentiated visual configuration 12 that stylistically reproduces a zebra 14, which includes visual pattern 14A printings referring to the animal's face and coat pattern, and appliques 14B referring to the animal's ears.
[0045] The perimeter and integral fastener 7 has one of its sections (section 15) sewn around the contouring edge 10 of the main body 2, while the other complementary section 16 is sewn around the contouring edge 11 of the removable and replaceable front portion 5 of backpack 1.
[0046] When the slider 17 of the perimeter and integral fastener 7, which is mounted in section 15, is coupled to the starting point 18 of section 16 and is pulled in the closing direction, it causes the union of sections 15 and 16 of said perimeter and integral fastener 7.
[0047] When the perimeter and integral fastener 7 is fully closed it causes the full union of the removable and replaceable front portion 5 against the main body 2 of the backpack 1, whereas when fully opened it allows the total and innovative separation of said removable and replaceable front portion 5.
[0048] On the other hand, when the perimeter and integral fastener 7 is partially opened, leaving its extreme lower portion 19 (shown in FIG. 4 only) together, it creates a bonding condition between the removable and replaceable front portion 5 and the main body 2 of the backpack 1 allowing said removable and replaceable front portion 5 to be moved in the opening or closing direction of the backpack 1.
[0049] Although the starting point 18 of the perimeter and integral fastener 7 appears positioned in the upper region of the removable and replaceable front portion 5, which also corresponds to the upper portion of the main body 2, this starting point 18 may be positioned at other points of the perimeters of these two components, thus not being limited to the positioning depicted.
[0050] The fact that the removable and replaceable front portion 5 is a component that can be completely separated from the main body 2 allows the same main body 2 to alternatively receive variants of such component, which variants may have quite different themes.
[0051] In the example depicted in FIGS. 6, 7 and 8, the removable and replaceable front portion 5, by way of example, is characterized to appear as a decoration defining a visual configuration 12 that stylistically reproduces an alligator 13, while the substitute version, and also by way of example, is characterized to appear as a decoration defining a visual configuration 12 which also stylistically reproduces a zebra 14, being the possibility of using other stylized animals or different themes not ruled out.
[0052] In the aforementioned FIGS. 6, 7 and 8, it is presented the possibility of total substitution of the removable and replaceable front portion 5 model, characterized as an alligator 13 by the model characterized as a zebra 14, characteristic that changes and renews the overall aesthetics of the backpack 1 and avoids having to replace it with another model at the child's request. This possibility also allows the removable and replaceable front portions 5 to be periodically alternated.
[0053] The focal point of this Utility Model patent lies precisely in the possibility that the removable and replaceable front portion 5 can be used conventionally; being able to be opened and closed, as well, and innovatively, it can be completely separated from the main body 2 and replaced for another model with another theme, regardless the theme.
[0054] Following the same basic principle, but differently from the case of backpack model 1A that is intended for children, in variant model 1B that is intended for young people or adults, the removable and replaceable front portion 5 does not have visual configuration 12 but rather a configuration 20 of patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories 21.
[0055] In the example shown in FIG. 9, the removable and replaceable front portion 5 is characterized, by way of example, to appear in a configuration with different patterns and/or composition of compartments 21, having a single compartment of large volume 21A positioned in its lower region, while the substitute version, depicted in FIGS. 9 and 10, is characterized to appear, also as a mere object, in a configuration with different patterns and/or compositions of compartments 21, having three smaller compartments 21B arranged side by side and positioned in their lower region, while in its median region is foreseen a tiled area 21C.
[0056] In the case of version 1B of backpack 1, the focal point of the present Utility Model patent lies in the possibility that the removable and replaceable front portion 5 can be used in a conventional way, which means it can be opened and closed, as well as, and innovatively, it can be completely detached from the main body 2 and replaced by another model with another configuration (20) of patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories, thus allowing the customization of the entire backpack.
[0057] Both in model 1A and variant model 1B, the herein proposed backpack innovates before the previous copies belonging to the state of the art by allowing to obtain a completely new feature, which results from the possibility of having an element of its structure (removable and replaceable front portion 5) fully removed and exchanged for another model with another theme, in the case of model 1A, or with another configuration (20) of patterns and/or composition of compartments and accessories 21, in the case of variant model 1B.
[0058] This Utility Model patent application is not limited to the exemplary drawing of main body 2, which may contain other styles and presentations, and is not limited to the drawing presented herein.
[0059] It should be noted that the alligator and zebra figures presented herein with respect to model 1A are merely non-limiting examples of distinctive and differentiated visual configurations 12 that the removable and replaceable front portion 5 may have, and it is clear that the theme could be any theme belonging to children's universe, such as children's story characters, comic book heroes, etc.
[0060] It should also be noted that the backpack 1, concerning the models 1A and 1B, although depicted as being made of fabric, with respect to both the main body 2 and the removable and replaceable front portion 5, is not limited to this type of construction since the innovative solution presented herein, namely the possibility of replacing the removable and replaceable front portion 5 for another one with another theme (in the case of the models intended for children) or with another configuration of patterns and/or composition of compartments (in the case of models intended for young people/adult or adults), can also be implemented in backpacks that can be produced with rigid, molded, pressed, injected or other materials.
[0061] Specifically regarding the model 1B, it should be clarified that the configurations 20 depicted on the removable and replaceable front portion copies 5 must be taken in a non-limiting manner as they may have a multitude of compartments and other accessories, therefore, this Utility Model patent application is not limited to such examples.
