Abstract:
A wrist cuff (11) that provides absorption of liquids moving from user's
hands (18) during face cleaning comprises of ruffled water absorbent
cloth (16) encasing elastic core element (15). A user of the wrist cuffs
pulls them over wrists (17) thereby providing protection from liquids
dripping towards elbows and also wrist cuffs catch splash liquid drops
flying from user's hands (18) towards bathroom furniture during face
cleaning.Claims:
1. A device worn on a human wrist comprising: A core element that will
expand and compress to snug tightly around human wrist. A liquid
absorbent material surrounding and encasing said core element and having
length and width substantially bigger than length and width of the core
element where the core element being in compressed position compresses
liquid absorbent material into ruffle like shape around said human wrist
for protection of human arm, bathroom countertop and floor from liquids
dripping from human hand.Description:

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Field of Invention
[0004] This invention relates to wearable cuffs by humans, specifically to such wearables which are used to be worn around human wrists.
Background of the Invention
[0005] During face cleaning and makeup removal humans use different types of liquids such as oils creams lotions and water. All these liquids are applied to face by hands and, while applying, drops of those liquids fall and flow from hands towards arms, elbows and furniture countertops. Manufacturers came up with solution for this problem that only helps with removal of makeup. Such solution is makeup removing wipes, which one can use to wipe off make up and not get arms and furniture wet. However, wipes do not help during application of facial makeup when different, very runny substances applied to face skin and drip from hands towards elbows and furniture surfaces. Also, wipes do not help during different stages of face care products removal when water is used to wash off residues of makeup products, which cause most dripping on elbows and countertops.
[0006] Also there is a product that is worn on human wrist which is called Tennis Wristbands. The purpose of Tennis Wristbands is to wipe off the forehead during sweating. They also help to prevent sweat from arms and elbows dripping to the palms of the hands, and have been known to be used as badge or fashion statement. Also Tennis Wristbands are designed to be as thin as possible and are very tight around wrists and a have no ruffle shape. This helps Tennis Player to avoid air resistance during arm swings.
[0007] In conclusion, insofar as I am aware no worn device formerly developed provides protection from dripping liquids which flow from hands towards arms, elbows and furniture surfaces.
SUMMARY
[0008] The invention has rather wide elastic band encased by terry like cloth, which absorbs water and runny liquids. Size of encasing terry cloth is larger than the size of elastic band and when this invention worn on human wrists elastic band compresses around wrist and wrinkles encasing terry cloth into ruffle shape. This increases invention's size, volume which helps to catch more drops dripping from hands during face cleaning.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION--FIGS. 1 AND 2--PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0022] FIG. 1 is perspective view taken from the user's top side of the wrist cuff 11 constructed in accordance with invention, that has ruffle like folds 12 along the full length of the invention. Water absorbing terry cloth has stitched sims 13 and 14 that creates enclosed casing for elastic core element 15.
[0023] FIG. 2 is lateral cross-section through wrist cuff 11 worn on user's wrist 17. Elastic core element 15 being in compressed stage creates ruffle folds 12 for water absorbing terry cloth 16.
FIGS. 3-4p--ALTERNATIVE EMBODIMENTS
[0024] Alternative embodiments are shown in FIGS. 3 and 4; in each case the elastic core element 15 is built within inner portions of water absorbent cloth 16 and makes that portion of the wrist cuff 11 stretchable thus eliminating the need for separate elastic core element 15--FIGS. 1 and 2.
Operation
[0025] In operation one uses the wrist cuffs in a normal manner with wrist cuffs pulled over both wrists. When elastic core element 15 constricts around wrist 17 following 3 effects occur:
[0026] (1) Water absorbent terry cloth 16 creates folds and increases in volume.
[0027] (2) This creation of folds and thickness of the water absorbent cloth 16 snugs tightly around user's wrist 17 and makes it impossible for liquids to pass from hand 18 towards arm 19 between wrist 17 and water absorbent cloth 16.
[0028] (3) Liquid drops falling from hands during face washing get caught by water absorbent cloth 16.
CONCLUSION, RAMIFICATIONS, AND SCOPE
[0029] Accordingly, the reader will see that wrist band can be used to stop liquid drops dripping or falling from hands towards elbows, bathroom floor and countertops, can be easily pulled over and pulled off the human's wrist, can be reused as many times as needed and washed in the washing machine as it gets soiled. Furthermore, wrist band has additional advantages in that
[0030] It permits taking care of face cleaning without creating paddles of water in the bathroom;
[0031] It could be used by care giver to wash babies, elderly and pets;
[0032] It permits usage of different types of water absorbent fabrics such as regular terry cloth of French terry cloth;
[0033] It permits usage of water absorbent one time use cloth which allows this invention to become one time use product and disposed after each use.
[0034] Although the description above contains many specificities, these should not be construed as limiting the scope of the invention but as merely providing illustrations of some of the presently preferred embodiments of this invention. For example, elastic core element could be replaced by drawstring; terry cloth could be replaced by expandable flat cloth band with very long cloth loops woven perpendicular to the outer surface of the flat expandable cloth band. Also terry cloth could be woven as a one enclosed piece of hollow tube, eliminating inner horizontal sim 13 and circumferential vertical sim 14.
[0035] Thus the scope of the invention should be determined by the appended claims and their legal equivalents, rather than by the examples given.
