Abstract:

The object of the invention is a method of hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis method, especially adapted to electrolysis of water. The method of hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis method, in particular, electrolysis of water characterized in that wind power drives a DC generator and powers the electrodes performing electrolysis, preferably electrolysis of water. A device for hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis of water characterized in that it is created by a windmill whose rotating shaft is connected to a DC generator whose outputs are connected to electrodes placed in the vessel with the electrolyte, preferably water, thereby using wind power and windmill power directly to produce hydrogen and oxygen.

Claims:

1. A method of hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis, in particular electrolysis of water, characterized in that, wind power drives a DC generator and powers electrodes performing electrolysis, preferably electrolysis of water.

2. A device for hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis method of water comprising a windmill whose rotating shaft is connected to a DC generator whose outputs are connected to electrodes placed in the device vessel with an electrolyte, wherein said electrolyte preferably comprises water.

3. A method of generation of hydrogen and oxygen comprising using wind power and a windmill to power directly connected DC generator in order to produce hydrogen and oxygen.

Description:

[0001] The object of the invention is a method of hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis method, especially adapted to electrolysis of water.

[0002] There are know an electrolysis method, an electrolysis device and an electrolysis system presented in the patent specification PL/EP 2389460. Electrolysis method according to the invention characterized in that an electrode for electrolysis being under electrical voltage, is vibrated artificially the vibration with a vibration frequency and harmonic electric voltage of the electrolysis electrode oscillates with a lower frequency of vibration frequency. Said frequency is a resonance frequency. Said liquid electrolyte contains water so that said separated electrolysis gasses contain a combustible hydrogen-containing gas.

[0003] Electrolysis device comprises an electrolysis vessel with at least one pair of similar electrodes each comprising an electrically conductive material with an electrical contact for connection to an electrolysis circuit. Moreover, it comprises a piezoelectric element with two electrical contacts for connection to a separate vibration circuit. It further comprises an electrolysis circuit connected to said electrodes, wherein each of the two electrodes of an electrode pair is connected to the circuit with inverse polarity. Whereas a vibration circuit is connected to said piezoelectric elements. Said vibration circuit has a regulator to control the output voltage with a vibration frequency. Said electrolysis circuit is also connected to said regulator in order to control the output voltage of the electrolysis circuit with a lower harmonic frequency of said vibration frequency.

[0004] Ecological way of generating electricity consisting in the use of wind power, which drives a windmill connected to the generator is also known. Generated current is transformed to voltage and frequency adjusted to the network, which requires expensive and complicated apparatus.

[0005] The apparatus for electric hydrogen production from water as described in the patent specification PL/EP 2377972 is known. This apparatus has an inlet for supplying water and a first outlet for hydrogen, as well as a second outlet for oxygen.

[0006] The method of hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis method, in particular electrolysis of water, according to the invention, is charactered in that wind power drives a DC generator and powers the electrodes performing electrolysis, preferably electrolysis of water.

[0007] A device for hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis method of water, according to the invention, is charactered in that it is created by a windmill whose rotating shaft is connected to a DC generator whose outputs are connected to electrodes placed in the vessel with the electrolyte, preferably water.

[0008] Use of wind and windmill power directly to DC generation and in order to produce hydrogen and oxygen.

[0009] A method and device according to the invention allow to produce hydrogen and oxygen using the simplest and cheapest method. The only costs to be incurred are the costs of windmill construction, DC generator installation and electrolysis vessel. On the other hand, the operation of the device does not cause any costs, because the device is driven by wind power and consequently the generated current is directly fed to the electrolysis, and the discharge and storage of the generated gases is known. The costs of transforming and standardizing the current are eliminated, which otherwise requires extremely expensive devices and complicated automation and continuous supervision. A method and device according to the invention allow for the use of direct current of undetermined frequency and unsteady voltage, dependent only on wind speed, wherein the use of this current is possible not only to one electrolyser but also to many electrolysers.

[0010] A method and device of hydrogen and oxygen production by electrolysis, especially adapted to electrolysis of water is explained in more detail in the embodiment and in the drawing, in which FIG. 1 shows the scheme of the device.

[0011] As shown in FIG. 1 the device of hydrogen and oxygen production consists of a windmill 1 whose rotating shaft is connected via a transmission 2 to a DC generator 3. The outlets from the generator 3 are connected with the cables 4 and those in turn are connected with the electrodes 5 placed in the vessel 6 with the electrolyte in the form of water.

[0012] Under the influence of the wind blowing on the blades of the windmill 1, its shaft rotates, whose rotations are transferred via the transmission 2 to the shaft of the generator 3. The generator 3 generates direct current which is fed through the cables 4 to the electrodes 5 placed in a vessel 6 containing water constituting the electrolyte. Under the influence of direct current, the known phenomenon of water decomposition to oxygen and hydrogen occurs. These products are in a known manner discharged and collected in suitable containers. The water vessel is provided with a permanent water replenishment, not shown in the drawing, because such devices and gas removal are known among others from such patents as PL/EP 2377972 and others.
