Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] Phone holding devices are common tools used for smart phones which are popular devices for making video calls, binge watching episodes, reading e-books ecc. Wearable technologies are increasingly applied to smart phones to provide immediate convenience to a user by fastening a smart phone device thereof to the user's body.
[0002] In accordance with this trend, the present invention intends to improve both portability and usability of existing smart phones by applying wearable technologies, and the product according to the present invention may free users' hands while carrying smart phones. In addition, using smart phones in a hands free mode seems to be a valid solution to avoiding electromagnetic waves emitted while talking with smart phones placed next to the ear.
[0003] Flexible Carry-on Smart Phone Holding Devices serve to use a smart phone for making video calls, binge watching episodes or for reading e-books in a hands-free mode. Various flexible materials have been used in the prior art to make the phone holders stay in the desired position and various designs have been developed for the smart phone holding devices. In some previous designs, the user has to place the flexible extentions of the holding device on the neck which causes to place the smart phone very close to the user's eyes.
[0004] A number of challenges confront the manufacturers of such carry-on smart phone holders, especially the ones placed on the upper side of the body. Low cost, durability, simplicity and ease of adjustment of the material are paramount. The two flexible legs joined underneath the smart phone mount which on the other end are placed on the shoulders must be of a very light, flexible yet durable material. Smart phone holding devices are generally very inexpensive items and minimal labour and materials in manufacturing a flexible carry-on smart phone holding device is the goal of manufacturers. Inconvenient designs, rigid materials or inefficient mechanisms are highly undesirable since they often provide an undesired ergonomics for doing anything on a smart phone resulting in negative user experiences. Simple, flexible structures are preferred to permit adequate placing on the upper body parts and in a comfortable manner.
[0005] Rugged, durable construction is also highly desirable since components that break or fall apart may unintentionally cause damages on the smart phone. In addition, it is highly desirable to have flexible carry-on smart phone holding devices which can let the user make use of the smart phone while on the go and in a hands free mode to enable the user to do multi tasking.
[0006] Stay at home moms work at a rapid pace and demand to be able to watch their favorite shows while passing from room to room doing house work such as folding the laundry, dusting or even while outdoors doing gardening or shopping at a mall. Carry-on smartphone holding devices that require too much attention or that are not light and flexible enough to carry-on are not good for the ergonomics thus not user friendly.
[0007] Many of the convenient smart phone holding devices include a stand which must be placed on a stable platform which require the user to choose a convenient place to be seated facing the smart phone monitor and to move it along as that person changes place. A significant disadvantage of many prior art smartphone holding devices is that everytime switching form an activity to another is required, together with it's holding device, the user needs to carry the smartphone in hand.
[0008] Examples of the prior art include US Patent Publication No. 2017/0112240 Lee to Seoul and U.S. patent application Ser. No. 14/120,253 Shannon to North Las Vegas.
[0009] The first one of described patents, however, tend to be applicable if only placed like a necklace around the neck which is not good for the ergonomics and the second one falls within the category of media devices and requires a smartphone male electrical connector.
[0010] There is still a need to develop a flexible carry-on smart phone holding device for portable smart phones that is flexible, light, easy to carry and equipped with back straps for adequately fastening the peripheral devices and by doing so favoring the ergonomics design. Additionally, it is desirable for a flexible carry-on smart phone holding device that does not place the smart phone too close to the user's face to hold and secure the smart phone.
[0011] Therefore, it is desirable to provide a flexible carry-on smartphone holding device which is extremely simple to use and inexpensive to manufacture.
[0012] It is also desirable to provide a flexible carry-on smartphone holding device which is light and flexible.
[0013] It is also desirable to provide a flexible carry-on smartphone holding device which enables the users to operate hands free while on the go freeing the user from using any hands to engage while watching videos, making video calls or reading e-books on smart phones. It is also desirable to provide a carry-on smartphone holding device that is light, efficient, firm and has good ergonomics design.
[0014] By using the flexible carry-on smart phone holding device of the present invention, a smart phone may be conveniently used even on the go or in action. A holding device of the present invention has a simple and light structure so that the user may conveniently carry it on.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0015] The invention provides flexible carry-on smart phone holding device for carrying smart phones having two parallel, S shaped flexible legs joined together at a conjunction spot underneath a smart phone mount. The two parallel, S shaped flexible legs are connected by a set of straps that after forming a crisscross wrap at the back of the user, through the carabiners placed on each end, grip the flexible legs in the front to secure the smart phone holding device against moving of the smart phone placed inside the mount unwantedly.
[0016] Compared to the prior art therefore, the invention removes neccessity of having a rigid metal element placed around the neck. A set of S shaped, flexible legs placed on the shoulders attached on the ends with two crisscross straps that wrap around the back of the user in a crisscross way and with the help of the carabiners found on each end, serve to secure the device in a firm yet comfortable way.
[0017] Further details of the invention and it's advangtages will be apparent from the detailed description and drawings included below.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0018] In order that the invention may be readily understood, one preferred embodiment of the invention will be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein:
[0019] FIG. 1. is a front view of the S shaped, flexible legs joined together at a conjunction spot underneath a phone mount showing the carabiners gripping the flexible legs in the front middle section.
[0020] FIG. 2. shows a back view where a set of crisscross straps united to the the S shaped flexible legs through attachments placed on the shoulders, form a crisscross wrap around the back of the user.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0021] The invention provides a smart phone holding device which has several inventive features inherent in it's ergonomics design which represent a significant advantage over the prior art.
[0022] As is conventional, smart phone holding devices are for holding smart phones in cases where it is no longer desired and/or possible to carry them in hand. As indicated in FIG. 1, the smart phone is ideally placed inside the mount 1 beneath which there is a conjunction spot 2 where two parallel, S shaped, flexible legs 3 are joined and which serve to raise the smart phone at a desired level of the user. In the embodiment shown, the flexible legs 3 are composed of two parallel aluminium bars bent into an S shape and covered with foam, as indicated in FIG. 2, two attachments 4 unite the the other end of the flexible legs with a set of crisscross straps 5 long enough to wrap around the back of the user in a crisscross way. As in FIG. 1, at the end of each strap 5 is found a carabiner 7 that serves to fasten the front middle section 8 of the S shaped, flexible legs 3.
[0023] The invention improves over the prior art in permitting the two parallel, S shaped flexible legs placed conveniently on the shoulders of the user be firmly fastened in the front middle section by a set of carabiners both placed at each end of the crisscross straps which on the other end are joint with the same two parallel, S shaped flexible legs placed just above the shoulders and which wrap the back of the user in a crisscross way to allow for a secure and convenient way to carry-on a smart phone.
[0024] Although the above description and accompanying drawings relate to a specific preferred embodiment as presently comtemplated by the inventor, it will be understood that the invention in it's broad aspect includes functional equivalents of the elements described and illustrated.
