Over-Ear Headphone Secured Hooded Sweatshirt

Abstract

Hooded shirts and sweatshirts are worn for many reasons. One of the major reasons for wearing hooded sweatshirts, is for athletic, working out and exercising. Most athletes find the hooded sweatshirts, to be comforting while running, jogging, lifting weights, or other strenuous work outs and exercise. The concept behind working out in a sweatshirt hoodie, is to increase perspiring and sweating. Wearing the hood over the head while working out, allows for more heat to stay within the body, thus promoting an increased body temperature, which then results in an increased metabolism, and finally, resulting in a fat burning mode. Another use of the hoodie sweatshirt, is to shield and protect from weather conditions, such as the cold weather, to which the hood provides warmth, or when it's raining or snowing, the hood prevents the head from getting wet. The current hoodie sweatshirts, have the hoods designed to fully cover your entire head on all side: front, left side, back, and right side. Both ears are covered as well. Hooded sweatshirts have increasingly become more common, trendier, and more fashionable. Most recently a popular, yet common device has worked its way back into modern society, and it is proven to be just as trendier and fashionable as the hooded sweatshirt. The re-emergence of the over-the-ear headphones (OEH). The OEH, for the last few years, has become a fashion statement. Not only do they provide a more modern, superb acoustic sound, they are worn to make a fashion statement. That fashion statement includes showing which OEH is better artistically designed, or how expensive it is, the OEHs, are worn to represent style and class. These OEH have distinct, bilateral rounded ear pads covering the ears. Many athletes, and others, wear the OEH, while working out, running, jogging, or other strenuous activities. However, the current hooded sweatshirts, if wearing the OEH internally, under the hood, doesn't allow for the OEH external visibility, and does not allow the listener to make a fashion statement. In addition, wearing the OEH, internally under the hood, doesn't provide a large enough capacity for the OEH; also, it does not provide the securement of OEH, and does not keep the hood intact, with strenuous workouts and exercising. If wearing the OEH externally, over the hood, the current garment of the hood, is a barrier, it prevents direct contact of the earpads of the headphones with direct contact of the ears, resulting in a muffled sound, which defeats the purpose of the quality sound OEHs. It also doesn't provide any external securement devices.

Description

[0001] My new invention, the pHoody, is specifically, fashionably designed, as an athletic, hooded sweatshirt, that provides securement of the over-the-ear headphones. The hood of the pHoody sweatshirt, is designed with two rounded openings, one on the left, and one on the right, respectively at the level area of both ears. Surrounding these openings, is flexible garment material, consistency of the hood material, and elastic, that allows for placement of the OEH's earpads of the left, and the right; enabling various sizes of OEH earpads, up to a diameter of 100 mm. In addition to the flexibility, the elasticity functions as an extra secured component, assisting with keeping the earpads in place. The openings provide just enough flexibility without restriction. These openings, also has another major function, it allows direct contact of the OEH's earpad, both left and right, to direct contact with each respective ear. This allow for unmuffled, quality audio sounds of the OEH, from earpads to the ears. The pHoody, also includes an external, adjustable cloth fastener, at the top center of the hood. This extra layer of securement holds the headphones in place, while performing exercise, weightlifting, jogging, running, even more vigorous activities or more strenuous sports. Lastly, the pHoody, is trendy! It allows the external visibility of the stylish OEH, clearly making a fashion statement.
