Abstract

A portable clothes drying device, including a main rod including a hook disposed at a first end of the main rod to allow the main rod to hang from a horizontal surface, a first auxiliary rod rotatably connected to a first side of the main rod, a second auxiliary rod rotatably connected to a first side of the main rod, and a plurality of clips connected to surfaces of the first auxiliary rod and the second auxiliary rod to allow clothes to be clipper thereto.

BACKGROUND

1. Field

[0001] The present general inventive concept relates generally to a clothes drying device, and particularly, a portable clothes drying device.

2. Description of the Related Art

[0002] After frequent usage of sports clothing and equipment, such as hockey equipment, it is likely to have picked up a terrible odor due to sweat and wetness. The most crucial chore is to air out the gear after playing or training in order to reduce odious olfactory emanations, and to allow it to properly dry. However, having clothing and sports equipment everywhere can be cumbersome and bothersome due to unpleasant odors.

[0003] Therefore, there is a need for a portable clothes drying device.

[0004] The present general inventive concept provides a portable clothes drying device.

[0006] The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a portable clothes drying device, including a main rod including a hook disposed at a first end of the main rod to allow the main rod to hang from a horizontal surface, a first auxiliary rod rotatably connected to a first side of the main rod, a second auxiliary rod rotatably connected to a first side of the main rod, and a plurality of clips connected to surfaces of the first auxiliary rod and the second auxiliary rod to allow clothes to be clipper thereto.

[0007] The first auxiliary rod and the second auxiliary rod may rotated ninety degrees, such that the first auxiliary rod may be disposed above the second auxiliary rod perpendicularly with respect to the main rod.

[0017] Referring to FIG. 1, the portable clothes drying device 100 may include a main rod 110, a first auxiliary rod 120a, and a second auxiliary rod 120b.

[0018] The main rod 110, the first auxiliary rod 120a, and the second auxiliary rod 120b may be constructed from plastic, metal, wood, fiberglass, glass, or any other material known to one of ordinary skill in the art.

[0019] The main rod 110 may include a hook 111 disposed at a top portion thereof to allow a user to hang the portable clothes drying device 100 from a shower rod, for example, or from any other horizontal surface. When the main rod 110 is hung by the hook 111 from a horizontal surface, the main rod 110 may be disposed vertically, such that the hook 111 is disposed at a first end of the main rod 110 (i.e., a top-most portion of the main rod 110), and a second end of the main rod 110 is disposed at a bottom-most portion of the main rod 110.

[0020] As illustrated in FIG. 1, the first auxiliary rod 120a may be connected to the main rod 110 at a first side thereof using a connecting member 130, and the second auxiliary rod 120b may be connected to the main rod 110 at a second side thereof using another connecting member 130. Here, the first auxiliary rod 120a and the second auxiliary rod 120b are parallel with respect to the main rod 110, in order to facilitate storage of the portable clothes drying device 100.

[0022] As illustrated in FIG. 2, when the user wishes to hang items and/or clothes on the portable clothes drying device 100, the user may turn the first auxiliary rod 120a and the second auxiliary rod 120b ninety degrees (either clockwise or counter-clockwise), such that the first auxiliary rod 120a and the second auxiliary rod 120b are perpendicular with respect to the main rod 110.

[0023] Also, the first auxiliary rod 120a may be disposed above the second auxiliary rod 120b when they are rotated ninety degrees.

[0024] The first auxiliary rod 120a and the second auxiliary rod 120b may each have a plurality of clips 140 disposed thereon (and attached thereto), to provide further clipping functionality for various clothes. As such, for example, socks may be clipped to the first auxiliary rod 120a using the plurality of clips 140, while towels, for example, may be hung from the second auxiliary rod 120b without necessitating the plurality of clips 140.

Claims

1. A portable clothes drying device, comprising: a main rod including a hook disposed at a first end of the main rod to allow the main rod to hang from a horizontal surface; a first auxiliary rod rotatably connected to a first side of the main rod; a second auxiliary rod rotatably connected to a first side of the main rod; and a plurality of clips connected to surfaces of the first auxiliary rod and the second auxiliary rod to allow clothes to be clipper thereto.

2. The portable clothes drying device of claim 1, wherein the first auxiliary rod and the second auxiliary rod are rotated ninety degrees, such that the first auxiliary rod is disposed above the second auxiliary rod perpendicularly with respect to the main rod.
