BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0006] Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.
[0007] FIG. 1 shows a top view of an embodiment of the disposable scented face mask.
[0008] FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the disposable scented face mask in use.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0009] Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the disposable scented face mask. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.
[0010] Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a top view of an embodiment of the disposable scented face mask. A disposable scented face mask comprises a disposable mask 11 having an upper side 12, and a lower side 13 disposed opposite the upper side 12, with two sidewalls therebetween. The disposable mask 11 has a width, wherein the width is defined as the distance between the upper side 12 and the lower side 13, and a length, wherein the length is defined as the distance along the disposable mask 11 perpendicular to the width. The disposable mask 11 has an inner surface and an outer surface and is dimensioned such that the inner surface fits over the nose and mouth of any user. In the illustrated embodiment, the upper side 12 and lower side 13 are disposed parallel to one another, such that the disposable mask 11 forms a rectangular shape. However, in other embodiments, the upper side 12 and lower side 13 are tapered inward towards one another, such that the disposable mask 11 provides a closer fit to the nose and mouth of the user.
[0011] The disposable mask 11 is planar, such that the disposable mask 11 is configured to fold flat to allow easy transportation for a user. Additionally, the disposable mask 11 has a plurality of pleats 101 that stretch across the length of the disposable mask, similar to a conventional disposable mask. The pleats 101 allow the disposable mask 11 to conform to the face of the user when opened such that the disposable mask 11 is expanded along the width. The pleats 101 of the disposable mask 11 prevent it from stretching along the face of the user across the mouth and nose further than necessary, thereby providing a comfortable fit for each individual.
[0012] A nose clip 14 is disposed along the upper end 12 of the inner surface of the disposable mask 11. The lower end 13 of the disposable mask 11 is configured to secure flush beneath the mouth of the user, whereas the upper end 12 of the disposable mask 11 is configured to secure flush against the nose of the user. As such, the nose clip 14 disposed along the upper end 12 is configured to aid the disposable mask 11 in securing to the nose of the user. In the illustrated embodiment, the nose clip 14 is embedded into the
[0013] The nose clip 14 is adjustable, such that the user can depress each opposing side of the nose clip 14 while the disposable mask 11 is positioned on their face to conform to the precise shape of the user's nasal ridge. Thus, the nose clip 14 allows the disposable scented face mask to contour to the wearer's nose such that the disposable mask 11 is positioned at the user's preferred distance along the nasal ridge and covers a preferred amount of the user's face. In this way, the nose clip 14 provides a greater degree of comfort to the user, as the nose clip 14 has a degree of firmness set by the user. Further, the nose clip 14 also ensures the disposable scented face mask is reliably fixed in place by preventing the disposable mask 11 from sliding along the nasal ridge of the user, such that the disposable mask 11 continually covers the desired amount of the user's face. In the shown embodiment, the nose clip 14 is composed of aluminum, however in other embodiments the nose clip 14 can be composed of any pliable material, provided it is also suitably durable.
[0014] In the shown embodiment, elastic straps 17 are disposed along either sidewall of the disposable mask 11. In the illustrated embodiment, the elastic strap 17 is a single contiguous strap composed of an elastic material. A first side of the elastic strap 17 is threaded through the upper end 12 of the disposable mask 11 via an upper channel 15. Similarly, a second side of the elastic strap 17 is threaded through the lower end 13 of the disposable mask 11 via a lower channel 16. Thus, the elastic strap 17 forms two loops on opposing sides of the disposable mask 11 perpendicular to the upper side 12 and lower side 13. Each loop is configured to stretch and thereby removably secure around an ear of the user, securing the disposable mask 11 in place across the face of the user.
[0015] However, in other embodiments, the straps 17 comprise one or more ties that are permanently affixed to the sidewalls of the disposable mask 11, such that the straps 17 are configured to wrap around the head of the user and tie at the crown of the head. In this way, the disposable mask 11 can be utilized for both young children with smaller heads as well as adults, while additionally allowing an individual to determine how loose or tight they desire the disposable mask 11 to sit across their face.
[0016] In the illustrated embodiment, a friction fit edge 19 is disposed around a perimeter of the inner surface of the disposable mask 11. In the illustrated embodiment, the friction fit edge 19 comprises a non-slip surface of a plurality of raised protrusions with a friction coefficient greater than one, wherein the friction fit edge 19 is positioned along the entire perimeter of the disposable mask 11 and extending inwards less than inch. The friction fit edge 19 is configured to prevent the disposable mask 11 from sliding on the face of the user, such that the disposable mask 11 stays in place once secured to the user's face. In this way, the friction fit edge 19 provides additional aid in securing the disposable scented face mask to the face of the user.
[0017] A scented area 18 is disposed atop the outer surface of the disposable mask 11. In this way, the user is able to breathe in the aroma thereby applied through the disposable mask 11, such that the user is not overwhelmed by the aroma applied to scented area 18. In the illustrated embodiment, the scented area 18 is disposed at a center of the disposable mask 11, such that the scented area 18 is equidistant from the top side 12 and the bottom side 13, as well as equidistant from each sidewall, thereby ensuring the aroma is distributed uniformly across the face and nose of the user.
[0018] In the illustrated embodiment, the scented area 18 is rectangularly shaped, such that it mirrors the overall shape of the disposable mask 11. However, in other embodiments the scented area 18 is circular, or comprises less overall surface area across the disposable mask 11. The scented area 18 is impregnated with a scent prior to the user's application. The specific aromas disposed at the scented area 18 can include any pleasant or calming scents, such as lavender or chamomile. In this way, the scented area 18 can be used to cover up any off-putting smells.
[0019] Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown a perspective view of an embodiment of the disposable scented face mask in use. In operation, a user 70 will place the disposable mask 11 onto their face such that the disposable mask 11 covers their nose 71 and mouth. The user will affix the disposable mask 11 in place by looping the elastic straps 17 around their ears 72. To provide a closer fit and greater degree of comfort, the user can then adjust the nose bridge 14 to conform to their nose 71. A specific scent is applied to the outer surface of the disposable mask 11 such that the user breathes in their desired scent upon use. In this way, a user can comfortable wear a disposable mask while smelling only their desired scent, such as lavender or chamomile.
