Abstract:

A glass cleaning system that includes: a two-ply cloth, a first side of the two-ply cloth and a second side of the two-ply cloth; a plastic insert within the two-ply cloth; a plurality of magnets secured on the plastic insert; and a handle system on the first side of the two-ply cloth and the second side provides a cleaning surface. The plurality of magnets work in conjunction with a second plurality of magnets within a second two-ply cloth to clean a glass surface. Preferably, the plurality of magnets include neodymium magnets and the handle system includes two loop handles.

Claims:

1. A glass cleaning system comprising: a. a two-ply cloth, a first side of the two-ply cloth and a second side of the two-ply cloth; b. a plastic insert within the two-ply cloth; c. a plurality of magnets secured on the plastic insert; and d. a handle system on the first side of the two-ply cloth and the second side provides a cleaning surface.

2. The glass cleaning system according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of magnets work in conjunction with a second plurality of magnets within a second two-ply cloth to clean a glass surface.

3. The glass cleaning system according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of magnets include neodymium magnets.

4. The glass cleaning system according to claim 1, wherein the handle system includes two loop handles.

5. A method of glass cleaning comprising the steps of: a. using a first two-ply cloth on a first side of a glass surface; b. using a second two-ply cloth on a second side of the glass surface, wherein the first two-ply cloth and second two-ply cloth include magnetic inserts; c. magnetically engaging the first two-ply cloth with the second two-ply cloth, where the first two-ply cloth on the first side of the glass surface and the second two-ply cloth is on the second side glass surface; and d. moving the first two-ply cloth with the engaged second two-ply cloth across the surface of the glass; and e. cleaning the first side and second side of the glass simultaneously by continuing the step of moving.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of Invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a held hand cleaning cloth that incorporates magnets to provide reinforced surface cleaning coverage.

Description of Related Art

[0002] Cleaning window surfaces is always a challenge for most individuals. Many devices have been developed to clean window surfaces such as handheld wipe blades, sponges, rags, cloths and other types of handheld tools. Normally to clean a window it is desired to clean both the exterior and interior of the window to ensure that a clean view is provided through the window. This technique is particularly important when cleaning an automobile window. The outside surface may be clean but then the interior surface must also be cleaned to ensure a clear view for the user. Normally the cleaning of these surfaces is done separately by a user, where the user cleans the outside surface and then proceeds to clean the inside surface or vice versa. It would therefore be advantageous to have a system or device that allows a user to clean both surfaces simultaneously. Such an apparatus is disclosed in the U.S. Pat. No. 4,977,637 to Demers that makes the use of a window surface cleaning system especially designed to include a magnetic base that is covered with a specially designed cleaning bag. This rectangular base includes a hand grip and has an adjoining unit that is used in conjunction therewith. The adjoining unit includes a suction cup to support the unit on opposing side of the windshield.

[0003] The disclosure of Demers however shows that the device has a limited cross section and requires a specially designed bag to cover the magnetic base and the opposing base for use. The design of the present invention provides a more efficient cleaning device that cleans both inside and the exterior surfaces of the window.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The present invention relates to a glass cleaning system that includes: a two-ply cloth, a first side of the two-ply cloth and a second side of the two-ply cloth; a plastic insert within the two-ply cloth; a plurality of magnets secured on the plastic insert; and a handle system on the first side of the two-ply cloth and the second side provides a cleaning surface. The plurality of magnets work in conjunction with a second plurality of magnets within a second two-ply cloth to clean a glass surface. Preferably, the plurality of magnets include neodymium magnets and the handle system includes two loop handles.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0005] FIG. 1 depicts a cleaning device with handles used in accordance with the present invention.

[0006] FIG. 2 depicts a surface contact side of the cleaning device in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0007] The present invention relates to a cleaning device that provides for the insertion of magnets attached to a plastic insert on the interior of a cloth cleaning rag. The handles are provided on one side of the cleaning device so that a user may engage the handle and move the rag across the surface of a window. On the opposing side is a flat surface that is applied directly to the surface of the window. During use, a user uses a cleaning cloth on the exterior and an opposing cleaning cloth on the interior, where the magnets allow for the attraction of the two cloths once applied to the respective window surfaces. Once this attraction is achieved the cloths may be moved in conjunction and therefore provide cleaning on both the interior and exterior of the window through movement on one side thereof.

[0008] With respect to FIG. 1, a first side of cleaning device 50 is shown. On this first side two handles 25a, 25b are shown. These handles 25a, 25b support a two-ply cloth 22 with an opening, slot 27, that enables the insertion of a plastic sheet 30. The plastic sheet 30 as shown in FIG. 1 has been inserted on the inside of the cleaning cloth. The cleaning cloth is a two-ply cleaning cloth that receives the plastic sheet 30 in the opening provided. The plastic sheet 30 includes magnets 32 equally spaced thereon and expanding the contact surface of the cloth 22. A reverse side or second side 20 of cloth 22 is shown in FIG. 2. An insertion slot 27 is also designated in FIG. 2. As could be seen the plastic sheet 30 creates a flat surface provided to be placed against the surface of a windshield or window. A second cleaning device, which is used in conjunction with a first cleaning device so that the devices are joined through the magnetism provided by magnets 32. Preferably the magnets 32 are neodymium magnets that are equally spaced on the plastic insert 30. Once these are applied to the respective surfaces of the window the cloths may be moved in unison to provide a complete cleaning of the window on the inside and outside surfaces.

[0009] The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
