DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0018] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new securing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0019] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the trampoline securing system 10 generally comprises a trampoline 12 that has a plurality of legs 14 and each of the legs 14 abuts ground 16. The trampoline 12 may be a trampoline 12 of any conventional dimension and design. A plurality of first braces 18 is provided and each of the first braces 18 is selectively positioned on an associated one of the legs 14. Each of the first braces 18 abuts the ground 16 when each of the first braces 18 is positioned on the associated leg 14.
[0020] Each of the first braces 18 has a first end 20, a second end 22 and a first surface 24 extending therebetween. Each of the first braces 18 is elongated between the first end 20 and the second end 22. The first surface 24 has a first concavely arcuate portion 26 that is centrally positioned between a first flattened portion 28 and a second flattened portion 30. The first concavely arcuate portion 26 engages the associated leg 14 and each of the first flattened portion 28 and the second flattened portion 30 abuts the ground 16. The first concavely arcuate portion 26 corresponding to each of the first braces has a height that is sufficient to accommodate an entire diameter of the legs 14.
[0021] Each of the first braces 18 has a pair of first apertures 32 extending therethrough. Each of the first apertures 32 is positioned on an associated one of the first flattened portion 28 and the second flattened portion 30. Each of the first braces 18 may include a pair of rings 33 and the rings 33 corresponding to each of the braces may be positioned on an associated one of the first flattened portion 28 and the second flattened portion 30. Additionally, each of the rings 33 may surround an associated one of the first apertures 32.
[0022] A plurality of stakes 34 is provided and each of the stakes 34 is selectively extended through an associated one of the first braces 18. Moreover, each of the stakes 34 penetrates the ground 16 thereby retaining the trampoline 12 on the ground 16. Each of the stakes 34 is extended through an associated one of the first apertures 32 in a corresponding one of the first braces 18. Each of the stakes 34 may have a head and a distal end with respect to the head. The distal end of each of the stakes 34 may be tapered to a point for penetrating the ground 16.
[0023] A plurality of second braces 36 is provided and each of the second braces 36 is selectively positioned on an associated one of the legs 14. Each of the second braces 36 is aligned with a seam 38 on the associated leg 14. In this way the second braces 36 inhibits the associated leg 14 from separating at the seam 38. Moreover, each of the first and second braces 36 serves to inhibit the trampoline 12 from being blown by wind thereby inhibiting the trampoline 12 from being damaged.
[0024] Each of the second braces 36 has a primary end 40, a secondary end 42 and a primary surface 44 extending therebetween. Each of the second braces 36 is elongated between the primary end 40 and the secondary end 42. The primary surface 44 has a second concavely arcuate portion 46 that is centrally positioned between a primary flattened portion 48 and a secondary flattened portion 50. The secondary concavely arcuate portion 50 corresponding to each of the second braces 36 engages the associated leg 14. The secondary concavely arcuate portion 50 corresponding to each of the second braces 36 has a height sufficient to accommodate half of the diameter of the legs 14.
[0025] Each of the second braces 36 has a plurality of second apertures 52 extending therethrough. Each of the second apertures 52 is positioned on an associated one of the primary flattened portion 28 and the secondary flattened portion 30. The plurality of second braces 36 is arranged into a set of pairs. The primary flattened portion 28 and the secondary flattened portion 30 corresponding to each of the pairs abuts one another such that the second concavely arcuate portion 46 corresponding to each of the pairs surrounds the associated leg 14.
[0026] A plurality of fasteners 54 is provided and each of the fasteners 54 is selectively coupled between associated ones of the second braces 36. In this way the second braces 36 are retained on the associated leg 14. Each of the fasteners 54 is extended through corresponding ones of the second apertures 52. Additionally, each of the fasteners 54 may comprise a nut and a bolt.
[0027] A plurality of strips 56 is provided and each of the strips 56 is selectively coupled to an associated one of the first braces 18 and the second braces 36. Each of the strips 56 is comprised of an abrasive material such that each of the strips 56 frictionally engages the leg 14 corresponding to the first braces 18 and the second braces 36. Each of the strips 56 has a first surface 58 and a second surface 60 and the first surface 58 corresponding to each of the strips 56 is comprised of the abrasive material.
[0028] Each of the strips 56 includes an adhesive layer 62 that is positioned on the second surface 60. The adhesive layer 62 adhesively engages an associated one of the first surface 24 and the primary surface 44 on a corresponding one of the first braces 18 and the second braces 36. In this way the strips 56 are retained on the corresponding first and second braces 36. The adhesive layer 62 completely covers the second surface 60 of the corresponding strip. Each of the strips 56 includes a protective sheet 64 that is removably positioned on the adhesive layer 62. The protective sheet 64 is selectively removed from the adhesive layer 62 thereby facilitating the adhesive layer 62 to adhere to corresponding one of the first braces 18 and the second braces 36.
[0029] In use, each of the second braces 36 is positioned around the associated leg 14 and each of the second braces 36 is aligned with the seam 38 in the associated leg 14. The second braces 36 are arranged into a plurality of pairs and the pairs are coupled together with the fasteners 54. In this way the associated leg 14 is inhibited from separating at the seam 38 due to high wind or the like. Each of the first braces 18 is positioned on the associated leg 14 and each of the first braces 18 is positioned to abut the ground 16. Each of the stakes 34 is driven through the associated first aperture in each of the first braces 18 such that the stakes 34 penetrate the ground 16. In this way the trampoline 12 is secured to the ground 16 thereby inhibiting the trampoline 12 from being lifted off of the ground 16 by high wind or the like.
[0030] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0031] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
