Description:
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention relates to a back support, and more particularly, to a back support including armpit support parts that are provided to a general chair, a backrest, or the like, thus enabling convenient and stable use thereof, and may protect the waist of a user and efficiently prevent the development of varicose veins.
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0002] Modern people spend a great deal of their lives seated in chairs for long periods of time. For example, modern people move while seated in a chair of an automobile, an airplane, or the like for a long period of time, or sit in a chair at an office, school, or the like for a long period of time, and thus the spine is considerably strained due to pressure applied to the waist for a long period of time. As a result, many spine- or waist-associated diseases are caused and modern people experience fatigue.
[0003] Generally, a chair includes a seat part on which buttocks of a user are placed, a backrest part which the back of a user closely contacts, and a support to support the seat part and the backrest part at a constant height from the ground, in which the backrest part and the support are provided with armrest parts at opposite sides thereof to enable arms of a user to conveniently rest thereon.
[0004] However, conventional chairs having such a structure are structurally configured to support only the back and the lower body, in particularly, the buttocks of a user, and thus a load of the body of a seated user is mostly applied to the waist.
[0005] Thus, the body load cannot be appropriately distributed and, as a result, the waist of a seated user is strained, thus causing waist diseases and, in particular, this adversely affects growing children, adolescents, the elderly, and the like in terms of growth and development, and treatment of diseases.
[0006] To address these problems, Korean Utility Model Publication No. 2001-0001083 (Jan. 15, 2001), which is prior art, discloses a chair equipped with armpit supports. According to the prior art, a backrest is provided with first and second accommodation holes, and armpits of a user are supported by first and second rotation bars respectively accommodated in the first and second accommodation holes.
[0007] However, the above-described prior art is disadvantageous in that, when not in use, the first and second rotation bars are folded again and then accommodated in the first and second accommodation holes, resulting in user inconvenience.
[0008] In addition, in a case in which height adjustment is needed according to the body shape of a user, the first and second rotation bars have to be individually disassembled and coupled to fastening long holes, resulting in user inconvenience.
[0009] In addition, there is a need to develop a method that can be widely applied to backrests in addition to general chairs.
