Abstract:

A pipe suctioning adapter structured and arranged to be utilized in conjunction with a wet/dry vacuum specially designed to easily remove tough clogs from drain pipes of sinks, tubs and toilets to provide household consumers with an easy, affordable means of eradicating plumbing problems themselves, without having to depend on costly professionals to do the job.

Claims:

1. A pipe suctioning adapter comprising: a main body including: a semi-spherical wall including: a distal rim portion; wherein said distal rim portion is adapted to surround an opening of a pipe and form an air-tight seal there around; and a proximal rim portion; wherein said proximal rim portion forms a circular aperture therethrough; and a hose nozzle attachment including: a proximal end portion; wherein said proximal end portion is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to frictionally and releasably connect with a distal end portion of a suctioning hose of a suctioning device thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween; and a distal end portion; wherein said distal end portion is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to be frictionally and releasably connected to said proximal rim portion of said main body and extend through said circular aperture thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween; and a center portion; wherein said center portion is elongated, is formed having a cylindrical shape, and is located in between said proximal end portion and said distal end portion.

2. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 1, wherein said distal end portion of said hose nozzle attachment is tapered; and wherein a distal end of said distal end portion has an inner diameter that is smaller than an inner diameter of said center portion.

The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 1, wherein said center portion of said hose nozzle attachment includes an outer rim extending outwardly therefrom adapted to abut said proximal rim portion of said main body to thereby prevent said hose nozzle attachment from extending into said circular aperture past a pre-determine distance.

4. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 1, wherein said main body is formed from a rubber material.

5. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 1, wherein said hose nozzle attachment is formed from a material chosen from a list of materials consisting of rubber and plastic.

6. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 1, wherein said length of said pipe suctioning adapter is 7 inches.

7. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 3, wherein the distance between said outer rim of said center portion and a distal end of said distal end portion of said hose nozzle attachment is 2 inches.

8. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 1, wherein said main body is formed having dimensions including 5 inches in height, 53/4 inches in diameter at said distal rim portion, and 13/4 inches in diameter at said proximal rim portion.

9. The pipe suctioning adapter of claim 8, wherein said hose nozzle attachment is formed having dimensions including 4 inches in length.

10. A combination of a pipe suctioning device and a pipe suctioning adapter comprising: a pipe suctioning device including: a motor; wherein said motor is adapted to provide a suction force; and a suction hose including: a proximal end portion; wherein said proximal end portion is connected to said motor; and a distal end portion; wherein said suction hose is adapted to transfer said suction force provided by said motor therethrough from said distal end portion to and through said proximal end portion; and a pipe suctioning adapter comprising: a main body including: a semi-spherical wall including: a distal rim portion; wherein said distal rim portion is adapted to surround an opening of a pipe and form an air-tight seal there around; and a proximal rim portion; wherein said proximal rim portion forms a circular aperture therethrough; and a hose nozzle attachment including: a proximal end portion; wherein said proximal end portion is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to frictionally and releasably connect with said distal end portion of said suction hose of said pipe suctioning device thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween; and a distal end portion; wherein said distal end portion is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to be frictionally and releasably connected to said proximal rim portion of said main body and extend through said circular aperture thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween; and a center portion; wherein said center portion is elongated, is formed having a cylindrical shape, and is located in between said proximal end portion and said distal end portion.

11. The combination of claim 10, wherein said distal end portion of said hose nozzle attachment is tapered; and wherein a distal end of said distal end portion has an inner diameter that is smaller than an inner diameter of said center portion.

12. The combination of claim 10, wherein said center portion of said hose nozzle attachment includes an outer rim extending outwardly therefrom adapted to abut said proximal rim portion of said main body to thereby prevent said hose nozzle attachment from extending into said circular aperture past a pre-determine distance.

13. The combination of claim 10, wherein said main body is formed from a rubber material.

14. The combination of claim 10, wherein said hose nozzle attachment is formed from a material chosen from a list of materials consisting of rubber and plastic.

15. The combination of claim 10, wherein said length of said pipe suction adapter is 7 inches.

16. The combination of claim 12, wherein the distance between said outer rim of said center portion and a distal end of said distal end portion of said hose nozzle attachment is 2 inches.

17. The combination of claim 10, wherein said main body is formed having dimensions including 5 inches in height, 53/4 inches in diameter at said distal rim portion, and 13/4 inches in diameter at said proximal rim portion.

18. The combination of claim 17, wherein said hose nozzle attachment is formed having dimensions including 4 inches in length.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention(s). It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art, or material, to the presently described or claimed inventions, or that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

1. Field of the Invention

[0004] The present invention relates generally to the field of adapter devices and more specifically relates to a pipe suctioning adapter structured and arranged to be utilized in conjunction with a wet/dry vacuum specially designed to easily remove tough clogs from drain pipes of sinks, tubs and toilets to provide household consumers with an easy, affordable means of eradicating plumbing problems themselves, without having to depend on costly professionals to do the job.

2. Description of the Related Art

[0005] For most people, household chores are a fact of life, and as with any task there are various tools which can make the completing household chores easier. Vacuum cleaners enable consumers to swiftly remove debris from carpeting, a floor mop is utilized to thoroughly clean hard wood or tiled flooring and an endless array of scrub brushes are used for everything from washing a sink full of dishes to scrubbing a bathroom shower stall. In addition, dealing with clogged sinks and drains is a normal part of routine cleaning and home maintenance. As such, a practical tool found in any household is the simple plunger. However standard household plungers can sometimes prove inefficient for certain tasks. Specifically, many clogs develop too deep in the drain pipes to be cleared with a standard plunger. Because of this, clearing a clogged or stopped drain in a kitchen, bathroom or laundry room sink or a household toilet often requires the expense of hiring a professional plumber. As many consumers would attest, spending hundreds of dollars to have a professional plumber drive a plumbing "snake" through a drainage system or take apart pipes, simply in order to remove a small obstruction of hair and soap chips, can be both frustrating and costly.

[0006] Various attempts have been made to solve problems found in adapter devices art. Among these are found in: U.S. Pat. No. 7,000,284 to Ron Sowden et al; U.S. Patent No. 2009/0113612 to Larry Edward Dodson; and U.S. Pat. No. 2,673,986 to Valentine Schaefer et al. This prior art is representative of vacuum cleaner hose to drain adapters.

[0007] Ideally, a pipe suctioning adapter should be user-friendly and safe in-use and,yet would operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a pipe suctioning adapter structured and arranged to be utilized in conjunction with a wet/dry vacuum specially designed to easily remove tough clogs from drain pipes of sinks, tubs and toilets to provide household consumers with an easy, affordable means of eradicating plumbing problems themselves, without having to depend on costly professionals to do the job and to avoid the above-mentioned problems.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known adapter devices art, the present invention provides a novel Pipe Suctioning Adapter. The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail is to provide a adapter devices and more specifically relates to a pipe suctioning adapter structured and arranged to be utilized in conjunction with a wet/dry vacuum specially designed to easily remove tough clogs from drain pipes of sinks, tubs and toilets to provide household consumers with an easy, affordable means of eradicating plumbing problems themselves, without having to depend on costly professionals to do the job.

[0009] A pipe suctioning adapter comprising: a main body and a hose nozzle attachment. The main body includes: a semi-spherical wall including a distal rim portion and a proximal rim portion. Wherein the distal rim portion is adapted to surround an opening of a pipe and form an air-tight seal there around. Wherein the proximal rim portion forms a circular aperture therethrough.

[0010] The hose nozzle attachment includes: a proximal end portion; a distal end portion; and a center portion. Wherein the proximal end portion is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to frictionally and releasably connect with a distal end portion of a suctioning hose of a suctioning device thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween. Wherein the distal end portion is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to be frictionally and releasably connected to the proximal rim portion of the main body and extend through the circular aperture thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween. Wherein the center portion is elongated, is formed having a cylindrical shape, and is located in between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion.

[0011] A combination of a pipe suctioning device and a pipe suctioning adapter comprising: a pipe suctioning device and a pipe suctioning adapter. The pipe suctioning device including: a motor and a suction hose including a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. Wherein the motor is adapted to provide a suction force. Wherein the proximal end portion is connected to the motor. Wherein the suction hose is adapted to transfer the suction force provided by the motor therethrough from the distal end portion to and through the proximal end portion.

[0012] The present invention holds significant improvements and serves as a pipe suctioning adapter. For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0019] As discussed above, embodiments of the present invention relate to an adapter device and more particularly to a pipe suctioning adapter structured and arranged to be utilized in conjunction with a wet/dry vacuum specially designed to easily remove tough clogs from drain pipes of sinks, tubs and toilets to provide household consumers with an easy, affordable means of eradicating plumbing problems themselves, without having to depend on costly professionals to do the job

[0020] Generally speaking, the Pipe Suctioning Adapter comprises a specially designed suctioning device configured expressly to be easily connected to a wet/dry vacuum and utilized to remove tough clogs from the drainage pipes of sinks, tubs and toilets.

[0021] The Pipe Suctioning Adapter would be manufactured of a heavy duty and malleable rubber material. This device would be comprised of an open, bell-shaped suction mechanism, similar in appearance to the head of a plunger and designed to fit over the clogged drain, with a cylindrical nozzle inserted into the top of the unit that is affixed to the suction hose of a wet/dry vacuum. The Pipe Suctioning Adapter would measure 7 inches in total height, with the vacuum hose attachment extending from the top of the suction mechanism 2 inches and the suctioning tool itself measuring 5 inches in height and 53/4 inches in diameter at the base of the unit. This suction head would taper inwards incrementally in curved sections towards the top of the unit, with the top of the suction head measuring approximately 13/4 inches in diameter.

[0022] As mentioned, the hose nozzle attachment would extend from the top of the suction head 2 inches and would have an overall length of 4 inches. The open, proximal end of this attachment would measure 11/8 inches in diameter and the walls of the attachment would have a depth of approximately 1/4 of an inch. Cylindrical in shape, this attachment would boast a narrow neck at its distal end measuring 2 inches in length and one inch in diameter, with this neck inserted into the top of the suction mechanism and hovering inside the center of the unit.

[0023] The Pipe Suctioning Adapter would provide virtually anyone with a tool to rid plumbing fixtures of stubborn clogs. An easily managed suctioning device that works in conjunction with an existing wet/dry vacuum, the Pipe Suctioning Adapter would allow those who know virtually nothing about plumbing to expediently rid a sink, tub, or toilet of any obstruction. Able to quickly suction up debris such as hair and dirt from straightforward fixtures and even tricky P-traps, the Pipe Suctioning Adapter would restore proper working order to these areas in a matter of seconds.

[0024] As a result, household consumers would be able to take care of the jobs themselves, without the need to request the costly services of a plumber. Yet, even the professionals could benefit from employing a product such as the Pipe Suctioning Adapter in their endeavors. Compact and lightweight, the Pipe Suctioning Adapter could be effortlessly wielded by virtually any household consumer and should thus be well received by the general consumer populace, as well as professional plumbers, a very sizable market potential.

[0026] Pipe suctioning adapter comprising: main body 110 and hose nozzle attachment 150. Main body 110 includes: semi-spherical wall 120 including distal rim portion 130 and proximal rim portion 140. Wherein main body 110 is formed from a rubber material. Wherein the length of pipe suctioning adapter 100 is 7 inches. Wherein main body 110 is formed having dimensions including 5 inches in height, 53/4 inches in diameter at distal rim portion 130, and 13/4 inches in diameter at proximal rim portion 140. Wherein distal rim portion 130 is adapted to surround an opening of pipe 300 and form an air-tight seal there around as shown in FIG. 3. Wherein proximal rim portion 140 forms circular aperture 144 therethrough.

[0027] Hose nozzle attachment 150 includes: proximal end portion 160; distal end portion 170; and center portion 180. Wherein proximal end portion 160 is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to frictionally and releasably connect with distal end 450 portion of suctioning hose 430 of suctioning device 410 thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween as shown in FIG. 4. Wherein hose nozzle attachment 150 is formed from a material chosen from a list of materials consisting of rubber and plastic. Wherein hose nozzle attachment 150 is formed having dimensions including 4 inches in length.

[0028] Wherein distal end portion 170 is formed having a cylindrical shape and is adapted to be frictionally and releasably connected to proximal rim portion 140 of main body 110 and extend through circular aperture 144 thereby forming an air-tight seal therebetween. Wherein distal end portion 170 of said hose nozzle attachment 150 is tapered; and wherein distal end 172 of distal end portion 170 has an inner diameter that is smaller than an inner diameter of center portion 180.

[0029] Wherein center portion 180 is elongated, is formed having a cylindrical shape, and is located in between proximal end portion 160 and distal end portion 170. Wherein center portion 180 of hose nozzle attachment 150 includes outer rim 184 extending outwardly therefrom adapted to abut proximal rim portion 140 of main body 110 to thereby prevent hose nozzle attachment 150 from extending into circular aperture 144 past a pre-determine distance. Wherein the distance between outer rim 184 of center portion 180 and distal end 172 of distal end portion 170 of hose nozzle attachment 150 is 2 inches.
