Abstract:
A system for levelling an air mattress comprises a levelling device
having one or more pneumatic chambers. The pneumatic chambers are
configured to inflate and deflate, thereby allowing a user to level the
mattress based on the unevenness of the ground surface. The levelling
device can be at incrementally inflated or deflated in relation to the
thickness of the mattress, such that the lying surface is more even and
or less inclined than the ground in the usage position.Claims:
1. A system for levelling an air mattress comprising: a levelling device
comprising one or more pneumatic chambers; wherein the pneumatic chambers
are configured to inflate and deflate, thereby allowing a user to level
the mattress based on the unevenness of the ground surface.
2. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein the pneumatic chamber is configured to have an air inlet to inflate and deflate selectively.
3. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein a cross-section of the levelling device is selected from at least one of a wedge and a triangular shape.
4. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein the thickness of the levelling device selectively increases based on the unevenness of the ground surface.
5. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein a material for the mattress is selected from the group consisting of nylon, polyvinylchloride, urethane and rayon.
6. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein a measuring level is provided on a side adjacent to a longitudinal side of the mattress to indicate the evenness of the mattress with the ground surface.
7. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein the measuring level is at least one of a gauge and an air bubble.
8. A system for levelling a mattress according to claim 1, wherein the levelling device conformingly fits the mattress to form an integral unit on the uneven ground when the pneumatic chamber is inflated.
Description:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of camping. It relates to an air mattress as well as a leveling device, for use on uneven ground. The leveling device supporting structure is positioned upon the uneven ground to adjust and level the air mattress.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Camping and hiking have gained popularity and are currently enjoying a new surge in popularity. However, campers now have enhanced expectations of comfort and convenience while camping and hiking, and a large demand exists for products providing both comfort and convenience. Campers want to carry their equipment to remote places which requires both light and easily portable equipment. Sleeping on the uneven or hard ground, will not yield sufficient rest or comfort. While a tradeoff between ultra-comfort and ultra-light, construction has previously seemed inevitable in a portable camper air mattress sleeping system.
[0003] When campers go camping and hiking, the goal is to camp on the most level spot that can be found, but an even level spot is rarely found in the terrain. Campers can end up sleeping on a slope which causes them to slide down or off the conventional air mattress.
[0004] The camping air mattress varies from heavy to lightweight based upon the material used for construction. For inflating purposes the mattresses may use a built-in battery assisted pump. Mattresses can be inflated by electric pump with either DC or AC plug-in. This DC electric pump consumes more power for example: 12V rather than an AC electric pump which requires a generator or a wall outlet. The additional electronics add weight to the mattress and are inconvenient if any pump mechanisms fail to work.
[0005] The outer fabrics of the mattress are typically designed to be puncture-proof and tear resistant as well as providing long-term durability when used on open ground. Current mattresses are inadequate to fulfill this need since existing mattresses need to be washed and the air chambers can pose washing problems.
[0006] Existing prior arts such as WO 2015024137 describes a reclining system and a compensation device for a deck system for use on an uneven floor. This system comprises multiple additional air chambers that require extra time and the user is required to continuously lay down on the mattress to feel for levelness and firmness of each individual additional air chamber.
[0007] Thus there exists a need for a better system for levelling an air mattress, allowing a user to level the mattress based on the unevenness of the ground surface.
SUMMARY
[0008] The present invention generally relates to a levelling device for having a comfortable mattress even with ground or ground inclinations.
[0009] According to a preferred embodiment, a system for levelling a mattress comprises a levelling device having one or more pneumatic chambers. The pneumatic chambers are configured to inflate and deflate, thereby allowing a user to level the mattress based on the unevenness of the ground surface. A base member made up of rubber is fixedly attached to the leveling device to prevent slippage of the mattress upon the uneven ground.
[0010] In a preferred embodiment, the leveling device having one or more multiple pneumatic members that are filled with air, in particularly in a shape maintaining manner such as wedge shaped or triangular shaped. The leveling device in particular can be incrementally adjustable to match the mattress height such that unevenness or the inclination of the ground is compensated. The material for the mattress is selected from the group consisting of nylon, polyvinylchloride, urethane and rayon.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0013] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1-2 thereof, a system for leveling a mattress embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention and generally designated by the reference numeral 100 will be described.
[0014] According to FIG. 1, illustrates a perspective view of a system 100 for leveling a mattress 102, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. A system 100 for levelling a mattress 102 having a levelling device 104 having one or more pneumatic chambers 116, 118 and 120. The pneumatic chambers 116, 118 and 120 are configured to inflate and deflate, thereby allowing a user to level the mattress 102 based on the unevenness of the ground surface 114. The air inlets 106a and 106b of the mattress 102 and the levelling device 104 are used to inflate and deflate air individually based on the ground surface 114 requirements. A base member 122 is fixedly attached to the bottom surface of the levelling device 104 using any suitable means. The base member 122 is suitable to prevent slippage of the levelling device 104 upon the ground. The base member 122 is composed of a bottom layer of a water-resistant material, such as rubber, or the like
[0015] According to one preferred embodiment, the inlet 106b is filled with air to reach the same level of the mattress 102 in order to compensate for the unevenness of the ground surface. The mattress 102 along with the levelling device 104 is preferably accommodating two users on the same mattress 102. The pneumatic chamber 116, 118 and 120 are configured to have an air inlet 106b which inflates and deflates selectively.
[0016] According to FIG. 2A illustrates a rear view of the system 100 for levelling a mattress 102 to the ground surface 114, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2A illustrate the gap 112 closing which exists between the mattress 102 and the ground 112 as reduced by the levelling system 100. A cross-section of the levelling device 104 is selected from at least one of a wedge and a triangular shape. The wedge shaped pneumatic chambers 116, 118 and 120 are each fillable with air independently of one another via the air inlet 106a and 106b. The plurality of pneumatic chambers 116, 118 and 120 which are arranged next to one another and are equally aligned. The wedge shaped pneumatic chambers 116, 118 and 120 lie in a common plane. According to the ground surface 114, the thickness of the levelling device 104 is increased by filling with air. The lying surface is aligned horizontally despite the slope in the terrain.
[0017] With respect to FIG. 2B, shows a rear view of the system 100 leveled to the ground level 114, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The thickness of the levelling device 104 selectively increases based on the unevenness of the ground surface 114. A measuring level 108 is provided side adjacent to a longitudinal side of the mattress to indicate the evenness of the mattress with the ground surface. The measuring level 108 is selected from at least one of a gauge and an air bubble. The user can easily see the mattress 102 air filling level, as the pneumatic members 116, 118 and 120 are inflated to match the ground surface 114. The levelling device 104 conformingly fits the mattress 102 to form an integral unit on the uneven ground when the pneumatic chambers 116, 118 and 120 are inflated. The material for the mattress 102 is selected from the group consisting of nylon, polyvinylchloride, urethane and rayon. The material for the levelling device 104 is selected from the same material such as nylon, polyvinylchloride, urethane and rayon. In an embodiment, a measuring level 108 is placed in a horizontal position, which is side adjacent to a longitudinal side of the mattress.
[0018] In one preferred embodiment of the invention, an electric, motor-driven, two-way, air in or air out pump (not shown) can be housed within the mattress 102 inside the wall of mattress 102, or attached to an air inlet or outlet plug in that same area of the mattress. That pump can be battery powered or plugged into a standard electrical socket. The pump can be used to inflate air into the mattress 102 or to remove air from that mattress to facilitate rapid deflation.
[0019] In a preferred embodiment in order to support the user's body (not shown) and minimizing bulges and depressions in mattress 102 which can cause the user's body to bend at the waist. In the king-sized version of the preferred embodiment, the spacing 112 is to reduce by the inflation of air into the pneumatic members 116, 118 and 120 which results in compensating for the even surface of a slope. Beds of other sizes have differing dimensions, with smaller beds, such as twin-sized beds can be used by the user based on the spacing requirements.
