Abstract:
Harley Davidson motorcycles motors have a gap between the rocker arm
shaft and the cam plate bolt, this bolt is supposed to lock the rocker
arm shaft but because of the gap the shaft rotates with the rocker arm,
hitting the bolt causing an annoying tick. The Rocker arm bushing inserts
go between the rocker arm support plate bolt and the rocker arm shaft
locking the shaft and preventing it from rotating and hitting the bolt
that cause an annoying tick. The bushings are called Rocker arm bushing
inserts. Each cylinder head requires two inserts, or four per motor.
Inserts can be made from any material and length can vary. Inserts must
fit inside a 11/32 hole and around a 5/16 bolt shank.Claims:
1. The rocker arm bushing inserts fit between the bolt and the rocker arm
shaft locking the shaft from turning and eliminate the shaft from
rotating and hitting the bolt, eliminating the annoying tick that so many
Harley motors witness.
2. The Rocker arm bushings also center the rocker cam support plate so that it is always located in the same position eliminating different wear patterns on the rocker arm/valve and better alignment of the pushrod in the holes.

[0001] This is a request to convert application 62/200,017 to a Non provisional patent. See note below in history.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
History
[0002] The gap between the shaft and bolt on Harley motors has been a known but little publicized problem, most people used a set screw or Loctite to stop the movement of the shaft to stop it from hitting the bolt.
[0003] While studying my rocker arm assembly I realized that a bushing between the bolt and shaft would be a better solution, so I designed and perfected the rocker arm busing inserts.
[0004] I then contacted John Lindsay (listed in the original provisional patent) to manufacture and promote the product called Rocker Lockers, and possibly form a business partnership. (That is why his name is on the provisional patent.)
[0005] That partnership never developed and we went our separate ways and he started selling a "similar" product.
[0006] I have contacted John on several occasions and ask that he fill out and send form PTO/AIA/01 so that it could be attached to this non provisional patent request and he has been un cooperative.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0008] For Harley Davidson motorcycles to place a bushing around the cam plate bolts.
[0009] The Harley motors have a gap between the rocker arm shaft and the cam plate bolt that hold down the cam plate, this bolt is supposed to lock the rocker arm shaft but because of the gap the shaft rotates hitting the bolt causing an annoying tick.
[0010] The rocker arm bushing goes between the bolt and the shaft locking the shaft from turning and eliminates the tick.
[0011] The Rocker Lockers also center the rocker cam support plate so that it is always located in the same position eliminating different wear patterns on the rocker arm/valve and better alignment of the pushrod in the holes.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0013] FIG. 5 (no 3) shows the Harley Davison rocker arm support plate, (no 4) shows the 5/16 bolt. (No 1) shows the 11/32 hole in the support plate leaving a 1/32 gap, this gap leaves a gap between the rocker arm shaft (no 2) (shown without rocker arm) and allows the shaft to turn when the rocker arm turns (no 5) because of the gap, the shaft rotates hitting the bolt causing an annoying tick. This gap (no 1) is where the rocker arm bushing inserts go.
[0014] FIG. 1, shows the top view of the rocker arm shaft (no 2) and the rocker arm support plate bolt shank (no 1)
[0015] The bolt (no 1) is 1/32 of an inch smaller than the hole and smaller than the notch in the rocker arm shaft (no 2) allowing the shaft to rotate.
[0016] (no 4) is the rocker arm bushing insert that takes up the 1/32 inch gap (no 3).
[0017] FIG. 2 is a side view of the rocker arm support plate, it shows the 5/16 bolt (no 4) and the rocker arm support plate (no 3) and the gap (no 1) between the rocker arm shaft (no 2) and the bolt. (no 5) shows the rocker arm bushing insert that fills in the gap.
[0018] FIG. 3 shows the rocker support bolt (no 4) and the rocker arm shaft (no 2) and displays how the rocker arm shaft can rotate (no 3) and hit the bolt at (no 1)
[0019] FIG. 4 show the rocker arm bushing insert (no 1) around the bolt and the between the shaft, this bushing locks the rocker arm shaft from rotating and hitting the bolt.
