Abstract:

Swimming goggles comprise a left frame body, a right frame body, lenses, a connecting element, each of the left and right frame bodies having an outer peripheral face, and the outer peripheral faces forming a combination base having a first platform and a second platform thereon, the first platform forming a combination element; the connecting element interconnecting the left and right frame bodies and forming a surface side and a nasal side, the nasal side forming a first junction and a second junction with respect to the first platform and the second platform, respectively, the first junction forming a clamping hole corresponding to the combination element, the nasal side being conformed to the contour of the combination bases, wherein the nasal side and the combination bases together form a smooth surface which could be perfectly fit into both sides of the nose bridge for comfortably wearing in swimming.

Claims:

1. Swimming goggles, comprising: a left frame body and a right frame body, each of the left and right frame bodies having an inner peripheral face and an outer peripheral face, the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies being fit to face portions with respect to inner peripheries of eye sockets of a cranium of a wearer and forming a combination base having a first platform and a second platform thereon, the first platform forming a combination element; lenses respectively integrally formed with the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies; a connecting element interconnecting the left and right frame bodies and forming a surface side and a nasal side, the nasal side forming a first junction and a second junction with respect to the first platform and the second platform, respectively, the first junction forming a clamping hole corresponding to the combination element, the nasal side being conformed to the contour of the combination bases; protective pads respectively attached to the inner peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies, each of the protective pads having a face contact portion, and contours of the face contact portion being about the size of the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies for being perfectly fit and attached to the face portions with respect to the inner peripheries of the eye sockets of the cranium; head strap bases respectively disposed on the opposite side of the combination bases of the left and right frame bodies, each of the head strap bases including a body having a through hole thereon; and covering pads respectively disposed on the opposite side of the combination bases of the left and right frame bodies, each comprising a front surface and a rear surface opposite the front surface, the front surface being cut flush with the outer peripheral faces at one end and being extended at the other end, the rear surface forming a guiding hole with respect to the through hole and forming a girding hole at its end; wherein the nasal side and the combination bases together form a smooth surface which could be perfectly fit into both sides of the nose bridge, and wherein the head strap is allowed to go through the through hole and the guiding hole and to gather at the girding hole, so as to flexibly fit to wearer's temple for providing comfortable wearing and water resistance in swimming.

2. The swimming goggles of claim 1, wherein the front surface is cut flush with the outer peripheral faces at one end and is extended beyond the face contact portion of the protective pad at the other end.

The swimming goggles of claim 1, wherein the combination element of the combination base forms a clamping slot on its side surface, and the inside wall of the clamping hole forms a protruding lip with respect to the clamping slot of the combination element, and when assembled, the combination element is inserted into the clamping hole, while the protruding lip is positioned in the clamping slot, by which the connecting element could firmly connect the left and right frame bodies without looseness or disengagement.

4. The swimming goggles of claim 3, wherein the combination element has a shape of column and its contour conforms to the clamping hole having a non-circular shape that penetrates through the nasal side and the surface side, or alternatively, through the nasal side only.

5. The swimming goggles of claim 1, wherein each of the protective pads further has a connecting portion and the inner peripheral face is formed with a hook channel, such that the connecting portion is made to grasp the hook channel in the injection molding.

6. The swimming goggles of claim 5, wherein the bodies of the head strap bases are integrally formed with the left and right frame bodies and the covering pads are integrally formed with the protective pads and extended from the connecting portions of the protective pads.

7. The swimming goggles of claim 6, wherein each of the bodies further forms a guiding rib for guiding the head strap therethrough.

8. Swimming goggles, comprising: a left frame body and a right frame body, each of the left and right frame bodies having an inner peripheral face and an outer peripheral face, the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies being fit to face portions with respect to inner peripheries of eye sockets of a cranium of a wearer and forming a combination base; a connecting element interconnecting the left and right frame bodies; protective pads respectively attached to the inner peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies, each of the protective pads having a face contact portion, and contours of the face contact portion being about the size of the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies for being perfectly fit and attached to the face portions with respect to the inner peripheries of the eye sockets of the cranium; head strap bases respectively disposed on the opposite side of the combination bases of the left and right frame bodies, each of the head strap bases including a body having a through hole thereon; and covering pads respectively disposed on the opposite side of the combination bases of the left and right frame bodies, each comprising a front surface and a rear surface opposite the front surface, the front surface being cut flush with the outer peripheral faces at one end and being extended at the other end, the rear surface forming a guiding hole with respect to the through hole and forming a girding hole at its end; wherein the nasal side and the combination bases together form a smooth surface which could be perfectly fit into both sides of the nose bridge, and wherein the head strap is allowed to go through the through hole and the guiding hole and to gather at the girding hole, so as to flexibly fit to wearer's temple for providing comfortable wearing and water resistance in swimming.

9. The swimming goggles of claim 8, wherein the front surface is cut flush with the outer peripheral faces at one end and is extended beyond the face contact portion of the protective pad at the other end.

10. Swimming goggles, comprising: a left frame body and a right frame body, each of the left and right frame bodies having an inner peripheral face and an outer peripheral face, the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies being fit to face portions with respect to inner peripheries of eye sockets of a cranium of a wearer and forming a combination base having a first platform and a second platform thereon, the first platform forming a combination element; lenses respectively integrally formed with the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies; a connecting element interconnecting the left and right frame bodies and forming a surface side and a nasal side, the nasal side forming a first junction and a second junction with respect to the first platform and the second platform, respectively, the first junction forming a clamping hole corresponding to the combination element, the nasal side being conformed to the contour of the combination bases; protective pads respectively attached to the inner peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies, each of the protective pads having a face contact portion, and contours of the face contact portion being about the size of the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies for being perfectly fit and attached to the face portions with respect to the inner peripheries of the eye sockets of the cranium; and head strap bases respectively disposed on the opposite side of the combination bases of the left and right frame bodies, each of the head strap bases including a body having a through hole thereon.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to swimming goggles, and particularly to swimming goggles made for racing, capable of fitting to both sides of the nose bridge smoothly, so as to be worn ergonomically and comfortably without water leakage, to reduce water resistance, and to enlarge visual range in swimming.

[0003] 2. Related Art

[0004] Conventional racing swimming goggles are designed to fit for a face portion with respect to inner peripheries of each eye socket of the cranium at a wearer's face to reduce water resistance. For the evolution of the swimming goggles, from a traditional type having lens and left and right frames which are implanted, then changed to a type having lens and left and right frames which are integrally formed as a whole, and also, from the type having no protective pads, changed to the type having J-shaped protective pads, that really makes a breakthrough on left and right frames to bring comfortable feelings in wearing and also could fit to face portions with respect to inner peripheries of eye sockets of a cranium of a wearer to reduce water resistance. However, with the structure of the traditional type being improved, the connecting element made to connect the left and right frames is still found to have some flaws to be solved, i.e., the connecting element respectively forms a combination element on its both sides with respect to a clamping hole of a combination base of the left and right frames; when assembled, the combination element is inserted into the clamping hole from outer side of the combination base (i.e., the outer side of the left and right frames) to the inner side of the combination base. In this manner, the connecting element would not seem flat or smooth at the inner side (in touch with wear's nose; called nasal side hereafter) because the combination element penetrates through clamping hole and forms a tiny bulge on the surface of the nasal side, which easily makes the combination element and the clamping hole cooperatively leave some red indentations right on the both sides of the nose bridge, resulting in uncomfortable feelings. Furthermore, the conventional swimming goggles usually have head strap buckles made of hard materials to balance the drawing force made by wearer, and the head strap buckles are disposed obliquely toward the opposite side of wearer's head to prevent the buckles from touching wearer's head to avoid an uncomfortable feeling. As a result, a little gap would exist between the buckles and wearer's head, which could cause the water leakage and water resistance in swimming.

[0005] Furthermore, the impact force from the water surface at the moment that a diver falls in the water is so huge that the little gap between the buckles and wearer's head could cause the water leakage and water resistance if the goggles could not be perfectly fit to wearer's face. Similarly, some drastic movement of wearer's hands that work on swimming could easily cause the water leakage and water resistance as well due to the little gap. Consequently, the conventional connecting element which is not smooth and fails to fit to both sides of the nose bridge perfectly, and the conventional head strap buckles which are separated from wearer's head by a little gap would cause the water leakage and water resistance to the disadvantage of any swimming competitions.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide swimming goggles for racing, capable of fitting to both sides of the bridge of the nose smoothly, so as to be worn ergonomically and comfortably without water leakage, to reduce water resistance, and to enlarge visual range in swimming.

[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide swimming goggles for racing, capable of fitting to wearer's head with respect to wearer's temples for comfortable wearing.

[0008] To achieve the above-mentioned objects, the swimming goggles comprise a left frame body and a right frame body and lenses that are formed integrally, each of the left and right frame bodies having an inner peripheral face and an outer peripheral face, the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies being fit to face portions with respect to inner peripheries of eye sockets of a cranium of a wearer and forming a combination base having a first platform and a second platform thereon, the first platform being defined by a combination element; a connecting element interconnecting the left and right frame bodies and forming a surface side and a nasal side, the nasal side forming a first junction and a second junction with respect to the first platform and the second platform, respectively, the first junction forming a clamping hole corresponding to the combination element, the nasal side being conformed to the contour of the combination bases; protective pads respectively attached to the inner peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies, each of the protective pads having a face contact portion, and contours of the face contact portion being about the size of the outer peripheral faces of the left and right frame bodies for perfectly fitting and attaching to the face portions with respect to the inner peripheries of the eye sockets of the cranium; head strap bases respectively disposed on the opposite side of the combination bases of the left and right frame bodies, characterized in that: the nasal side and the combination bases together form a smooth surface which could be perfectly fit into both sides of the bridge of the nose.

[0009] In accordance with the present invention, the combination element of the combination base forms a clamping slot on its side surface, and the inside wall of the clamping hole forms a protruding lip with respect to the clamping slot of the combination element, and when assembled, the combination element is inserted into the clamping hole, while the protruding lip is positioned in the clamping slot, by which the connecting element could firmly connect the left and right frame bodies without looseness or disengagement.

[0010] In accordance with the present invention, each of the left and right frame bodies forms a covering pad on the opposite side of the combination bases to cover the head strap bases and fit to wearer's temple for comfortable wearing.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0017] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, swimming goggles 1 of the present invention comprise a left frame body 20, a right frame body 21, a connecting element 22, lenses 30,31 received in the left and right frame bodies 20, 21, protective pads 4, and head strap bases 5. The left and right frame bodies 20, 21 are made of polycarbonate resin and respectively integrally formed with the lenses 30, 31 made of polycarbonate resin as well. The left and right frame bodies 20, 21 respectively have inner peripheral faces 201, 211 and outer peripheral faces 202, 212, wherein the inner peripheral faces 201, 211 are integrally formed with hook channels 203, 213 used for grasping and holding plastics in the injection molding. The hook channels 203, 213 are respectively extended rearward from and along the inner peripheral faces 201, 211 to form a shape as L in cross section. Each of the hook channels 203, 213 has a rear face opposite to the outer peripheral faces 202, 212. Contours of the outer peripheral faces 202, 212 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 are fit to face portions with respect to inner peripheries of eye sockets of a cranium of a wearer. More specific, each of the face portions is defined to correspond to an upper inner periphery of the eye socket below an eyebrow, a lower side of an under-eye bag with respect to a lower inner periphery of the eye socket, a side portion of the nose bridge adjacent to lacrimal gland, and an outer eye corner with respect to an inner periphery of the eye socket adjacent to wearer's temple. In this manner, after wearing, upper and lower edges of the outer peripheral faces 202, 212 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 are positioned on the inner peripheries of the eye sockets of the cranium. Furthermore, the outer peripheral faces 202, 212 forms curved surfaces extended toward the head strap bases 5 to provide wearers with a wider visual range from the corner of their eyes. Besides, the outer peripheral faces 202, 212 forms a combination base 6 further having a first platform 61 and a second platform 62 thereon, wherein the first platform 61 forms a combination element 611 having a shape of column and the combination element 611 forms a clamping slot 612 on its side surface.

[0018] The connecting element 22 having an arc shape is connected between the combination bases 6 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21. The connecting element 22 forms a surface side 23 and a nasal side 24 opposite the surface side 23, wherein the nasal side 24 forms a first junction 241 and a second junction 242 with respect to the first platform 61 and the second platform 62, respectively. The first junction 241 forms a clamping hole 243 corresponding to the combination element 611. The clamping hole 243 having a non-circular shape that penetrates through the nasal side 24 and the surface side 23, or alternatively, through the nasal side 24 only, is utilized to receive the combination element 611 having the contour conforming to the clamping hole 243 for better fitness. In addition, the inside wall of the clamping hole 243 forms a protruding lip 244 with respect to the clamping slot 612 of the combination element 611. When assembled, the combination element 611 is inserted into the clamping hole 243, while the protruding lip 244 is positioned in the clamping slot 612, by which the connecting element 22 could firmly connect the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 without looseness or disengagement. It should be noted that because the nasal side 24 of the connecting element 22 is conformed to the contour of the combination bases 6, the nasal side 24 and the combination bases 6 together forms a smooth surface which could be perfectly fit into both sides of the nose bridge for ergonomic and comfortable wearing, as shown in FIGS. 3 to 4.

[0019] The protective pads 4 are respectively attached to the inner peripheral faces 201, 211 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21. Each of the protective pads 4 has a face contact portion 40 and a connecting portion 41 both made of therma plastic rubber (TPR) for providing a comfortable contact in wearing. Contours of the face contact portions 40 of the protective pads 4 are about the size of the outer peripheral faces 202, 212 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 for being perfectly fit and attached to the face portions with respect to the inner peripheries of the eye sockets of the cranium. The connecting portion 41 is made to grasp the hook channels 203, 213 of the inner peripheral faces 201, 211 in the injection molding for the integral forming between the protective pads 4 and the left and right frame bodies 20, 21.

[0020] The head strap bases 5 are formed on the opposite side of the combination bases 6 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21. The head strap bases 5 each includes a body 50 integrally formed with the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 and having a through hole 501 thereon for perforation and orientation of a head strap (not shown). The body 50 further forms a guiding rib 51 for guiding the head strap therethrough.

[0021] Referring to FIGS. 5 to 10, each of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 forms a covering pad 7 on the opposite side of the combination bases 6. The covering pad 7 is made to cover the head strap bases 5 and able to fit to wearer's temple for comfortable wearing. The covering pad 7 is integrally formed with the protective pads 4 and extended from the connecting portion 41 of the protective pads 4, comprising a front surface 71 and a rear surface 72 opposite the front surface 71. The front surface 71 is cut flush with the outer peripheral faces 202, 212 of the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 at one end and is extended beyond the face contact portion 40 of the protective pads 4 at the other end as shown in FIGS. 6 to 8. The rear surface 72 forms a guiding hole 721 with respect to the through hole 501, and a girding hole 722 at its end to allow the head strap to go through the through hole 501 and the guiding hole 721 and to gather at the girding hole 722, so as to flexibly fitting to wearer's temple M as shown in FIG. 10, in order to provide comfortable wearing without water leakage, to reduce water resistance, and to enlarge visual range in swimming.

[0022] Accordingly, the covering pad 7 of the swimming goggles 1 of the present invention is integrally formed with the protective pads 4 and extended from the connecting portion 41 of the protective pads 4 and beyond the face contact portion 40 of the protective pads 4, whereby flexibly fitting to wearer's temple M and reducing water resistance. Furthermore, the nasal side 24 of the connecting element 22 is conformed to the contour of the combination bases 6, which makes the nasal side 24 and the combination bases 6 together form a smooth surface which could be perfectly fit into both sides of the nose bridge for the purpose of ergonomic and comfortable wearing. In addition, the engagement between the protruding lip 244 of the clamping hole 243 and the clamping slot 612 of the combination element 611 makes the connecting element 22 connect the left and right frame bodies 20, 21 more firmly to ensure that the water impact strength of swimming or diving would not cause the looseness or disengagement of the swimming goggles 1.
