Inventors:
IPC8 Class: AB65D5132FI
USPC Class: 401129
Class name: Supply container and independent applicator applicator includes container closure or overlies material brush applicator
Publication date: 2016-01-14
Patent application number: 20160009467

Abstract:

A bottle for containing and preserving varnishable products includes a container body in which the product is kept. The container body ends with a collar having a mouth through which the product can be taken. The bottle has a brush inserted in the mouth of the container, the upper part of which is a stem and the lower part of which is formed by bristles immersed in the product when the brush is inserted in the mouth. In an intermediate region, the stem has an annular projection which abuts on the edge of the collar. The projection is positioned to allow the bristles to reach the bottom of the container.

Claims:

1. A bottle for containing and preserving varnishable products, the bottle comprising: a container body in which the product is kept, the container body ending with a collar having a mouth through which the product can be taken, an elongated brush inserted in the mouth of the container, an upper part of the brush is a stem and lower part of the brush is formed by bristles immersed in the product when the brush is inserted in the mouth, wherein in an intermediate region, the stem has an annular projection that abuts on an edge of the collar, said projection being so positioned as to allow the bristles to reach a bottom of the container an annular sleeve can arranged to be fitted over said elongated brush and coupled to the collar, thus acting as a bottle cap; said annular sleeve is removably mounted to said elongated brush, and said elongated brush is arranged to be inserted into said mouth after said annular sleeve has been removed from said elongated brush.

2. A bottle according to claim 1, wherein said sleeve has an inner thread to be coupled to a matching external thread on the collar.

3. A bottle according to claim 1, wherein the container has a substantially tapered or partially cylindrical shape with an oval or round cross-section.

4. A bottle according to claim 3, wherein the container has a quadrangular or rectangular or rhomboidal or hexagonal or octagonal cross-section.

5. A bottle according to claim 3, wherein said annular sleeve continues a silhouette of the container, the container and the sleeve forming a homogeneous body.

6. A bottle according to claim 1, wherein on a top edge of said sleeve is a ring, wherein when the sleeve is constrained to the collar, said ring presses against a top surface of the annular projection, ensuring that the bottle is hermetically sealed.

7. A bottle according to claim 1, wherein, above said annular projection, said stem has a cross-section lower or equal to a cross-section of a cavity of the annular sleeve, to allow removing said annular sleeve from said elongated brush.

Description:

[0001] This application is a National Stage Application of International Application No. PCT/IB2014/059158, filed 21 Feb. 2014, which claims benefit of Serial No. TO2013U000035, filed 7 Mar. 2013 in Italy and which applications are incorporated herein by reference. To the extent appropriate, a claim of priority is made to each of the above disclosed applications.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to a bottle for containing products that can be distributed by varnishing. In particular, the present invention relates to a bottle for containing varnish, e.g. nail varnish.

[0003] Bottles of this kind normally consist of a container body ending with a collar having a mouth through which the varnish can be taken. The varnish taking operation is carried out by inserting an elongated brush into said mouth. The bottle cap is normally associated with the brush, so that the brush, when the cap is closed, stays inside the container. The cap is normally applied to the container through an external thread on the collar and an internal thread in the cap itself. Other possible means of constraint between the cap and the container body include snap-on caps, pressure caps, etc.

[0004] One of the most common problems suffered by this type of bottles is the difficulty in taking the last remnant of product (i.e. varnish) from the bottle. In this case, in fact, the brush has to be inserted almost all the way down to the base of the container. Actually, in such a situation it is difficult to reach the residual product because the thread does not allow the brush to get to the bottom, and one should screw on the cap with the brush and then unscrew it again.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention overcomes the above-mentioned drawbacks by providing a bottle which offers more comfort of use in comparison with the above-mentioned known types. One aspect of the present invention relates to a bottle for varnishable products.

[0006] Further auxiliary features are also set out herein.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] The features and advantages of said bottle will become more apparent from the following description of one embodiment thereof referring to the annexed drawings, which specifically illustrate the following:

[0008] FIG. 1 shows a schematic exploded longitudinal view of the bottle according to the invention;

[0009] FIG. 2 shows a schematic longitudinal view of the bottle according to the invention in the assembled condition;

[0010] FIG. 3 shows a schematic exploded side section of the bottle according to the invention;

[0011] FIG. 4 shows a side section of the bottle according to the invention in the assembled condition.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT(S)

[0012] With reference to the above Figures, the bottle for containing and preserving varnishable products according to the present invention essentially comprises a container body 2 where the product is kept, which ends with a collar 3 having a mouth 4 through which the product can be taken. In the illustrated embodiment, the body has a substantially tapered or partially cylindrical shape with an oval or round cross-section. The present invention is likewise applicable to containers having different shapes and cross-sections, e.g. quadrangular, rectangular, rhomboidal, hexagonal, octagonal, etc.

[0013] The product contained in the container is a varnishable product, e.g. varnish or gel.

[0014] In the mouth of the container an elongated brush 5 is inserted, the upper part of which is a stem 51 and the lower part of which is formed by bristles 52 immersed in the product when the brush is inserted in the mouth.

[0015] In an intermediate region, the stem has an annular projection 53 which abuts on the edge of the collar. The position of said projection is such as to allow the bristles to reach the bottom of the container, so that the product can be taken without any difficulty even when only a last remnant thereof is left in the container.

[0016] External to the brush, there is an annular sleeve 6 to be fitted over the brush itself and coupled to collar 3, thus acting as a bottle cap. In particular, said sleeve has an inner thread 61 adapted to be coupled to a matching external thread 31 on collar 3.

[0017] Said annular sleeve advantageously continues the silhouette of the container, so that the container and the sleeve form a homogeneous body.

[0018] On the top edge of said sleeve there is a ring 62, which, when the sleeve is screwed to collar 3, presses against the top surface of the annular projection 53, thereby ensuring that the bottle is hermetically sealed.

[0019] The varnish taking operation is carried out by inserting the elongated brush into said mouth after having removed the annular sleeve. In this manner, when only a small quantity of product is left in the bottle, the brush can reach down to the base of the container and take the remnant of product.
