SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention relates to a steam cap and method for hair moisturizing, where the steam cap includes: an outer surface; an inner portion; a flap pocket stitched onto the inner portion, where the flap pocket includes a slit opening on one side of the pocket; and a moisturizing insert, where the moisturizing insert is placed into the flap pocket. The moisturizing insert may include an outer layer and a protective barrier.

[0006] The steps related to a method of hair moisturizing according to the present invention includes: inserting a moisturizing insert into a flap pocket of a steam cap; placing a steam cap over a user's hair; and heating the moisturizing insert releasing steam with the steam cap. The moisturizing insert may be heated by using a hooded dryer over the steam cap. Alternatively, the moisturizing insert may be heated by use of a microwave oven or using hot water with the insert.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0007] FIG. 1 depicts an inside view of a steam cap in accordance with the present invention.

[0008] FIG. 2 provides a cross-sectional view of an insert that is used in conjunction with the steam cap of the present invention.

[0009] FIG. 3 depicts a prospective view of the steam cap as contemplated by the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0010] The present invention relates to a steam cap that is used in conjunction with a hairdryer. The steam cap is placed over an individual's head and hair while under a hooded dryer. While under the hooded dryer, the cap adds moisture to the individual's hair by using an insert inside of the steam cap. The insert is placed into a flap pocket that is placed on the inner surface of the steam cap. The hooded dryer heats the insert causing a release of steam and thus infusing moisture into the user's hair. This insert includes a moisture emitting mid-section, an outer layer and a protective barrier. This insert provides moisture that accumulates within the steam cap and is absorbed by the individual's hair.

[0011] In reference to FIG. 1, a view of a steam cap 50 in accordance with the present invention is shown. The inside portion of steam cap 50 includes a flap pocket 44 where the flap pocket 44 has a slit opening 42 on one side of the flap pocket 44. The slit opening 42 allows for the insertion of a small insert that creates moisture within the steam cap 50 while the steam cap 50 is in use under a hairdryer. FIG. 2 depicts a cross-sectional view of an insert 30 that may be placed into the flap pocket 44. The insert 30 includes an outer layer 35 and a protective barrier 33. The insert 30 is placed through the slit opening 42 and the user places the steam cap 50 over their hair to enjoy the benefits of a moisture emitting steam cap. The insert 30 in one particular embodiment may be heated by a hooded dryer. Alternatively, the insert 30 may be heated with a microwave oven or hot water.

[0012] FIG. 3 depicts a prospective view of the steam cap 50, where an opening 52 is shown that allows for the placement of a steam cap 50 over an individual's head. As shown, a section of the inner surface of the steam cap 50 includes a pocket 55, which is stitched within the steam cap 50 to allow for the insertion of the insert 30 for creating steam and moisture within the steam cap 50. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
