Description:
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The technical field generally relates to a stand for placing objects, and in particular, relates to a stand for placing objects on display device.
BACKGROUND
[0002] An office desk is often crowded with various equipments and office supplies, such as, LCD display device, keyboard, mouse, telephone, books, documents and stationary items. Some stationary items may be placed inside the desk drawer, however, which may be inconvenient as the user must open and close the drawer repetitively to access and replace the stationary item. As such, the efficiency may be compromised. A small rack may be placed on the desk top to hold documents or other items. The disadvantage is that the desk rack will further use up the already scarce desk surface space. It is desirable to devise a stand that could be used with existing equipment on the desk to provide additional surface space for placing common items.
SUMMARY
[0003] A primary object of the present invention is to provide a stand for placing objects on a display device. The stand can be installed on top of the display device to provide additional surface space for placing small objects. The display device can be an LCD monitor or a flat TV.
[0004] To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a stand for placing object on display device, which includes: an object platform, a support element, and a locking unit. The object platform has a bottom, and the bottom is disposed with a coupling unit, at least a stop strip, and at least an adhesive element. The adhesive element is disposed on the bottom and covers the bottom partially. The stop strip extends downward to beyond the surface of the adhesive element. The coupling unit and the stop strip are located respectively on the two sides of the bottom of the object platform. The support element has a first end coupled to the coupling unit and a second end with at least an anti-slip element. The locking unit is disposed to the coupling unit to fix the angle between the support element and the object platform after adjustment of the angle.
[0005] The foregoing will become better understood from a careful reading of a detailed description provided herein below with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DISCLOSED EMBODIMENTS
[0013] In the following detailed description, for purpose of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the disclosed embodiments. It will be apparent, however, that one or more embodiments may be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are schematically shown in order to simplify the drawing.
[0014] FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 show schematic views of the present invention from different perspectives. The present invention includes an object platform 1, a support element 2 and a locking unit 3.
[0015] The object platform has a top with a frame, and the frame protrudes upwards to prevent the objects placed on the object platform from sliding off. The bottom of the object platform 1 has a coupling unit 12, at least a stop strip 13 and at least an adhesive element 14. The adhesive element 14 is disposed on the bottom of the object platform 1 and covers the bottom partially. The stop strip 13 extends downward to beyond the lower surface of the adhesive element 14. The adhesive element 14 is located next to the stop strip 13. The adhesive element 14 has a surface disposed with re-usable adhesive surface, which can be washed with water to restore adhesion when necessary. To use the stand, the stop strip 13 must be tightly against a top corner of the display device so that the vertical surface of the stop strip 13 facing the adhesive element 14 is a flat surface. The coupling unit 12 and the stop strip 13 are located respectively on the two sides of the bottom of the object platform.
[0016] The coupling unit 12 is coupled to a first end 21 of the support element 2, and the locking unit 3 is disposed at the coupling. When the locking unit is in a locked state, the angle between the support element 2 and the object platform 1 is fixed. A plurality of mechanism can be used to realize the coupling structure and the present invention describes an embodiment as the following. As shown in FIG. 3, the coupling unit 12 includes: a first axial base 121 located at the object platform 1, an axial core 122, and a second axial base 123 located at the support element 2. The axial core 122 is disposed in a penetrating manner inside the axial holes of the first axial base 121 and the second axial base 123 so that the support element 2 and the object platform 1 can rotate with respect to each other without disengagement. The locking unit 3 includes: a first teeth surface 31 located on the outer wall of the first axial base 121, a second teeth surface 32 located on the inner wall of the second axial base 123, and a flip element 33 coupled to the axial core 122. The flip element 33 includes a first contact wall 331 and a second contact wall 332. The first contact wall 331 is closer to the coupling location of the flip element 33 than the second contact wall 332. When the flip element 33 is flipped, the first contact wall 331 contacts the outer wall of the second axial base 123, which is in an unlocked state because the first teeth surface 31 is not in tight contact with the second teeth surface 32 and the support element 2 can still rotate with respect to the object platform 1. When the flip element 33 is flipped 90°, the second contact wall 332 contacts the outer wall of the second axial base 123, which is a locked state because the first teeth surface 31 is in tight contact with the second teeth surface 32 and the friction increases so that the angle between the support element 2 and the object platform 1 is fixed. In addition, if screw cap is used to replace the flip element 33 and is fixed to the axial core 122 in a screw manner, the rotation movement can be used to lock or unlock the locking unit 3. As shown, other embodiments can be used to realize the locking unit 3.
[0017] The support element 2 has a first end 21 coupled to the coupling unit 12 and a second end 22 with at least an anti-slip element 23. When the anti-slip element 23 is in use, the anti-slip element 23 contacts the outer wall at the back of the display device to prevent from sliding collaterally. The anti-slip element 23 has an arc shape, and is made of material with high friction coefficient, such as, soft pad, foam, and so on. Alternatively, the surface of the anti-slip element 23 can be coated with a material with repetitive adhesion, which can be washed with water to restore adhesion.
[0018] As shown in FIG. 4, when the present invention is not in use, the support element 2 can be folded up to stay against the bottom of the object platform 1 so that the present invention has a flat shape for easy storage.
[0019] As shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, when the present invention is to be installed at an upper surface 51 of a display device 5, the locking unit 3 at the coupling unit 12 is let loose first and the vertical surface of the stop strip 13 is placed against a front wall 52 of the top of the display device 5. The adhesive element 14 is adhered to the upper surface 51. On the condition that the object platform 1 is in a horizontal position, the support element 2 is adjusted so that the anti-slip element 23 contacts the side wall at the back of the display device 5. Then, the locking unit 3 is adjusted to the locked state to fix the angle between the object platform 1 and the support element 2. With the assistance of the adhesive element 14 and support element 2, the stand of the present invention is installed to the display device 5. As such, an additional surface space is provided at the top of the display device 5 for placing various objects.
[0020] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the disclosed embodiments. It is intended that the specification and examples be considered as exemplary only, with a true scope of the disclosure being indicated by the following claims and their equivalents.
