Abstract:
A disc for power tools for supporting abrasive material includes a relief
around the central hole and from the rear part of the disc, in a single
body with the body of the disc itself. The relief has a height such as to
act as a containment of at least part of the central thread of the hole
and/or spacer for the shaft or pin of the power tool.Claims:
1. Disc (1) for power tools, for aiding and supporting abrasive material
associable with a front peripheral surface (S1) of annular conformation;
the disc (1) comprising a body (6) which has a relief (7) projecting from
a first face (4) of the disc (1) and in which said relief (7) is a single
body with the body (6) of the disc (1); the portion (7) is extended
around a central hole (2); the length of said relief is such to be able
to contain a corresponding threaded shaft within the surface (P2) for
supporting the abrasive material; characterized in that a. the relief (7)
has a diameter (D3) adjacent which a planar and annular surface (13) lies
comprised between the diameter (D1) and a diameter (D2); said surface
(13) serving to receive labels and/or silk-screen prints; on the outside,
a surface portion comprised between the diameter (D3) and the diameter
(D2) has an annular surface (14) made of a plurality of cavities (15) for
lightening the body (6), b. it comprises an annular peripheral portion
(16) comprising fins or ribs (17) spaced by cavities (18) opening on the
peripheral portion itself. c. a plurality of radially or helicoidally
arranged septa (20) depart from the portion surrounding the hole and are
joined to the annular portion (S1) for supporting the cloth; said septa
(20) are arranged inside the recess (19) of the disc (1).
2. Disc for power tools according to claim 1, characterized in that the relief (7), or projection, is extended from the body (6) and serves as a spacer element for the power tool in the operative configuration, that is to say fitted in a corresponding shaft or pin thereof.
3. Disc for power tools according to claim 1, characterized in that the relief (7) can be threaded, partially threaded or not threaded.
4. Disc for power tools according to claim 1, characterized in that the relief (7) has an at least partially cylindrical and/or elliptical and/or polygonal geometry.
5. Disc for power tools according to claim 1, characterized in that if (9) designates the length of the thread (3) obtained on the central hole (2), at least one portion (10) of said length (9) is beyond the plane (P1) of the face (4) facing the power tool, in operative configurations.
6. Abrasive disc comprising a discoid support element (1) according to claim 1 and an abrasive means associated to said element (1).
Description:
FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present finding is inserted in the field of support discs for abrasive materials, which are mounted, by screwing, on a corresponding shaft or pin of a machine tool, such as for example a sander.
EXPOSITION AND ADVANTAGES OF THE FINDING
[0002] The object of the present finding is to provide a relief which is extended around the central hole and from the rear part of the disc, that is to say the part facing the power tool.
[0003] Another object is to create said raised portion in a single body with the body of the disc itself, reducing costs and allowing at the same time reliability of the system.
[0004] In fact, a further object is to make said relief of a height such as to act as:
[0005] containment of at least part of the central thread of the hole
[0006] spacer for the shaft so that the latter comes to lie within the support surface of the abrasive material in operative configurations.
[0007] The advantages are:
[0008] Possibility of housing the pin of the disc under the cloth plane,
[0009] Reduced production costs.
[0010] Said objects and advantages are all attained by the disc for power tools for supporting abrasive material and abrasive disc comprising said support, object of the present finding, which is characterized in that provided in the below reported claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

DESCRIPTION OF THE FINDING
[0014] With particular reference to the figures, a support disc 1 for power tools such as sanders is illustrated in its entirety.
[0015] Specifically, the disc 1 serves as an aid and support for abrasive and/or cutting material (not illustrated) associable with a front, peripheral surface 51 of annular conformation thereof.
[0016] The annular surface 51 has an inclination 12 converging towards the axis 11 of the disc itself; however, it may be flat or convex.
[0017] The disc 1 has a central hole 2, for fitting with an end (not illustrated) of a rotating shaft of a grinding or sanding machine.
[0018] Since said end (not illustrated) of a grinding or sanding machine shaft is threaded, the disc 1 is provided with a central and threaded through hole 2. The thread is indicated with reference 3.
[0019] The disc is precisely a discoid element which is defined by a first face 4 which, in a mounting configuration, faces the sanding machine and a second face 5, opposite the first, on whose annular portion 51 the abrasive material is attached.
[0020] The central body 6 of the disc 1 has a relief 7, that is a projection which is extended from the back of the disc, that is to say from the first face 4.
[0021] Said relief 7 is a single body with the body 6 of disc 1.
[0022] In particular, the support disc 1 is made by molding.
[0023] The relief 7, or projection, which is extended from the body 6 at least partially receives the threaded portion 3 of the central hole 2 for the screwing of the shaft of the power tool.
[0024] In other words, if 9 designates the length of the thread 3 obtained on the central hole 2, it is noted that at least one portion 10 of said length 9 is beyond the plane P1 of the face 4 facing (in operative configurations) the power tool, not indicated.
[0025] The raised portion 7 is an aid not only to the presence of the threaded portion but also serves as a spacer element for the threaded shaft (or pin) of the tool so that in operative configuration the shaft, once the disc is screwed in, is contained at most within the cloth support plane P2 and does not extend beyond said plane, allowing to work in complete safety.
[0026] The raised part 7 has therefore a length such as to prevent the tool shaft, once the disc is screwed in, from extending beyond the plane P2 of the disc itself.
[0027] Preferably the height of the relief 7 is such as to contain the tool shaft flush with the internal plane P3; which plane P3 is defined by the central recess 19 as indicated by a section of FIG. 1.

[0031] By way of example, the shape illustrated in the example is polygonal and it is a hexagon.
[0032] The advantage of the aforesaid shape is to be able to unlock by means of keys or another tool the disc itself.
[0033] On the rear part, face 4 of the disc 1, two additional diameters D2 and D3 can also be identified.
[0034] The surface portion comprised between the diameter D1 given by the relief 7 and the diameter D2 is a planar annular surface 13.
[0035] The aforesaid surface serves for possible labels and/or silk-screen prints which may indicate the origin of the disc, the manufacturer and other information.
[0036] Instead, a surface portion comprised between the diameter D3 and the diameter D2 has an annular surface 14 made of a plurality of cavities 15 for lightening the body 6.
[0037] Moreover, the discoid support 1 claimed herein comprises an annular peripheral portion 16 also comprising fins or ribs 17 spaced by cavities 18 opening on the peripheral portion itself.
[0038] In essence, object of the finding is a disc for power tools for supporting abrasive material characterized in that it comprises a raised portion 7 extending around the central hole 2 and from the part not intended to support the abrasive material; said relief 7 being a single body with the body 6 of the disc itself.
[0039] The length of said relief is such as to be able to contain a corresponding threaded shaft within the support surface for the abrasive material.
[0040] The relief 7 is extended from the body 6 and acts as a spacer element for the power tool in an operative configuration, that is to say with the disc fitted (through the hole 2) in the corresponding shaft or pin of the power tool device.
[0041] With reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 embodiment variants of the disc 1 are observed and in particular of the side that provides for the fastening of the abrasive material, that is the face indicated with 5.
[0042] FIG. 3 illustrates, in particular, a variant of the support with spacer element in a single piece and a plurality of septa 20, septa radially or helicoidally arranged departing from the portion surrounding the hole and are joined to the annular portion S1 for supporting the cloth.
[0043] The septa 20 are arranged inside the recess of the disc 1, recess indicated with 19.
[0044] The septa 20 may also not be directly joined to the central hub and to S1.
