Abstract:
A micro-electric thermal device that creates a perpetual, safe and green
energy source when propelled by airflow that provides electricity to
atomize a liquid within an electronic cigarette cylinder. A pinwheel, fin
or mine-turbine devices with protruding wires rotates through a magnetic
field converting mechanical energy to electrical energy. When the
electrical energy is governed it delivers instant and constant
electricity to a LED light, a micro heating element and atomizing device,
and/or other electronic cigarette embodiments.Claims:
1. An electronic cigarette comprising: an outer housing having a first
end and a second end, the first end having a light emitting diode and the
second end having an aperture through which air is inhaled by a user; at
least one intake port proximate to the first end through which air is
drawn in towards to second end and out the aperture; a rotational turbine
between the intake port and aperture, the rotation turbine spinning when
air is drawn in by the user; a direct current generator mechanically
coupled to the turbine; a heating element electrically coupled to the
direct current generator; and a fluid reservoir through which the heating
element is inserted whereby air draw in by the user creates a vacuum
inside the out housing, ambient air is drawn in through the aperture and
through the turbine which spins and turns the direct current generator,
the generator creates an electrical potential which is transmitted to the
heating element therefore vaporizing fluid in the reservoir which is
drawn through aperture and into the mouse of the user.Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] This invention relates, generally, to the creation of perpetual electricity and thermal energy in micro-electric devices. More particularly, it relates to electronic cigarettes to replace the battery device that currently heats a filament to atomize and/or vaporize a liquid.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] Electronic Cigarettes are comprised of an inhaler tip, a liquid container system or cartridge, an atomizer, and a lithium ion battery. The batteries in these devices add significant weight vs. traditional cigarettes, increased size vs. traditional cigarettes, significant cost vs. traditional cigarettes, and pose an increased safety threat and environmental hazard.
[0005] All of these effects reduce the performance of the electronic cigarette. The weight of the battery, which can be up to 80% of the weight of an Electronic Cigarette, and the size of the battery significantly detracts from the traditional cigarette replacement experience. The cost of the battery, which can comprise up to 80% of the manufacturing cost of an electronic cigarette, undermines the commercial potential of the device. The performance of the battery with its limited shelf life, requirement for frequent recharging, and limitation of continued "smoking" of the electronic cigarette, render the electronic cigarette in its current form a compromise. The lithium ion battery presents a documented safety risk of explosion, both directly for consumers, and for the transportation industry.
[0006] Thus there is a need for an environmentally friendly micro-electric thermal generating device that is lightweight, smaller than current electronic cigarette batteries, lower cost, with significantly greater shelf life and no need for recharging.
[0007] However, in view of the art considered as a whole at the time the present invention was made, it was not obvious to those of ordinary skill in the art that such a device was needed nor was it obvious how such a device could be provided.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The long-standing but heretofore unfulfilled need for an environmentally friendly micro-electric thermal generating device that enables the elimination of a battery is now met by a new, useful, and non-obvious invention.
[0009] The novel device includes a rotating pinwheel or fins whose motion is propelled via airflow. The pinwheel has protruding wires or forms the wires itself, all housed within the cylinder in the end of the electronic cigarette.
[0010] The wires pass through a magnetic field generating a small amount of electricity.
[0011] The magnetic field is created through the placement of either static or rotating magnets within the housing. When the wires pass through and rotate within the magnetic field, or a magnetic field rotates about the wires, mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy.
[0012] The electrical energy is governed to deliver instant and consistent power to a micro-heating element or a micro-heating element and a light emitting diode and/or other potential electronic cigarette features.
[0013] An important object of the invention is to reduce weight, size, cost and downtime of electronic cigarettes, through the elimination of the requirement for an external power source or battery. With the replacement of the battery with a perpetual energy source driven by airflow and magnetics, the micro-electric thermal device, the efficiency and functionality of the electronic cigarette and potentially other micro-electric devices can be transformed.
[0014] An equally important object is to improve safety both for commercial transportation and consumers through the elimination of use of lithium ion materials.
[0015] A more specific object is to accomplish the foregoing through the use of green energy technology, resulting in reduced toxicity in the environment through the elimination of lithium ion waste.
[0016] These and other important objects, advantages, and features of the invention will become clear as this disclosure proceeds.
[0017] The invention accordingly comprises the features of construction, combination of elements, and arrangement of parts that will be exemplified in the disclosure set forth hereinafter and the scope of the invention will be indicated in the claims.
