Abstract

Provided is a glove comprising an outer shell comprising a back portion; and a pocket sewn or glued onto the back portion with thread or attached with glue where a mirror that can be inserted into the pocket. When washing is required the mirror can be removed from the pocket and the glove washed.

[0007] A variety of sports encourage the athlete to wear gloves to protect their hands, cushion the hands from bumps, to add comfort on handlebars, when holding a paddle, prevent neck stiffness from always viewing one direction. A mirrored glove is available in several patents however the mirrored gloves that are available have complicated adjustability and/or are difficult to use. Plumbers, Auto Repair and others have a need for protective gloves that also allow the user to see in difficult to reach places to be effective in their work.

[0008] There is a need for a simple mirrored glove that allows the wearer to remove the mirror and wash the glove. For mechanical, plumbing, sports, for safety and to improve visibility.

Advantages

[0009] Accordingly several advantages of one or more aspects are as follows: to provide greater safety while bike riding without complicated moveable or clipped on and thus likely to fail mirrored gloves, that can be used for sailing to trim sails without looking up and getting a stiff neck, that can be used to see boats coming from behind during races or just while cruising adding safety and competitive advantage, that can be used by kayakers to see other kayakers to keep the group together without having to turn or swivel and make it less likely to tip over the boat adding safety and comfort, that can be used by auto mechanics and plumbers to see in hard to see places making it easier to do repair. Other advantages to one or more aspects will be apparent from a consideration of the drawings and ensuing description.

[0020] As used herein, the singular forms "a", "an" and "the" are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. Additionally, the use of "or" is intended to include "and/or", unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

[0021] Provided is a mirrored glove wherein the mirror is retained with in a pocket. The mirror is held with in the pocket for use, and removed for cleaning. In some embodiments the pocket is constructed of a single piece of cloth, or other material, which is then attached onto the back of a glove. In other Embodiments the pocket is constructed in multiple layers of fabric or other material. Some Embodiments can make use of several different attachment methods, of the pocket to the glove, using adhesive, stitching, or welding. Embodiments can comprise of use of circular, rectangular, or other shaped mirrors. Different Embodiments can make use of open, closed, or shared fingered gloves.

[0022] Provided is a mirrored glove where the mirror 5 can be removed from the pocket 2 for cleaning. The glove 1 comprises on outer shell comprising a back portion and pocket 2 secured to the back portion by glue or thread 4 with a clear cover in some instances to protect the mirror and the wearer 3.

[0023] In some embodiments the mirror 5 is permanently secured to the back of the glove 1. In other embodiments, the mirror 5 can be removed from the glove 1. The latter embodiments are useful when the glove 1 needs to be washed for good hygiene, or for drying if it has become wet from use on a boat or in the rain.

[0024] In various embodiments the mirror 5 is contained in a pocket 3 which is secured to the back of the glove by glue or thread 4, or the pocket 2 can be sewn to the back of the glove 1.

[0025] The glove 1 to which the pocket 2 is attached can be for either hand. In the United States for biking purposes in most cases it would be a left hand glove 1. But in other parts of the world the glove 1 would be a right handed glove 1 to match the flow of traffic being viewed by the rider. In other sports, for mechanical uses, plumbing, and auto repair the pocket for the mirror 5 can be attached to either a right handed glove 1, a left handed glove 1 or both gloves 1 for versatility based on need.

Claims

1. A glove comprising an outer shell comprising a back portion; and a mirror secured to the back portion.

2. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror is inserted into a pocket on the glove.

3. The glove of claim 2, wherein a mirror is inserted into a sewn pocket on the glove.

4. The glove of claim 2, wherein the pocket is attached to the glove by adhesive, stitching, or welding.

5. The glove of claim 4, wherein the pocket is attached to the glove by adhesive, stitching, or welding to allow the user freedom of movement to position the glove were needed for viewing behind.

6. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror inside a sewn pocket is attached to the glove.

7. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror is secured to the back portion.

8. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror is flat.

9. The glove of claim 1, where in the mirror is convex.

10. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror is made from glass.

11. The glove of claim 1, where in the mirror is made from chromed plastic.

12. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror is made from metal.

13. The glove of claim 1, wherein the mirror is encased in a supporting structure.

14. The glove of claim 13, wherein the supporting structure is a pocket of cloth, or other material.

15. The glove of claim 1, comprising fingers.

16. The glove of claim 15, wherein the fingers are short fingers terminating at an opening.

17. The glove of claim 1, wherein the glove is fingerless.
