BACK GROUND OR PROBLEM
[0007] Parents and caregivers may enjoy bringing their babies and toddlers to playgrounds to swing. Because babies and toddlers are small and may not yet be capable of supporting themselves, they require specially designed, highly supportive swings. However the availability of these swings at parks and playgrounds may be limited. If special swings are not available, babies and toddlers may not be able to swing, which may cause them to become upset and fussy. An effective solution is necessary.
SOLUTION
[0008] The swing Cradle is designed to allow users to transform conventional belt swings into baby-safe swings. This innovative product features a cloth assembly designed to securely wrap around the swing, as well as the baby's lower torso and bottom. By encasing both the swing and the baby's body, the invention may keep the baby held upright and secured into place, greatly reducing the risk of injury due to falling. It can be highly portable, easy to apply and remove, and may be machine washable for added convenience.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
[0009] The swing Cradle is designed to instantly convert a standard belt swing into a baby-safe swing. The invention may comprise a portable cloth assembly shaped to fit around the bottom and lower torso portions of a small child's body. The sides can be adjusted to accommodate the babies growing body. When not in use the assembly can look similar to a diaper that has not been folded, when sides are disconnected. On the sides may be a series of adjustable straps, designed to secure the invention closed. Also included on the sides may be a series of safety hooks. Threaded through the top portion of the invention can be flexible plastic assemblies, which may help the invention maintain its shape. These plastic components may also be removed prior to washing. There may be addition foam supports placed around the top of the invention to provide further support and cushion for the babies. For application, the invention can be wrapped under and around the swing, the sides can be joined and closed, and the safety hooks can be latched or attached to the chains of the swing. An addition piece of cloth may provide a barrier between the baby's skin and the inside of the swing, protecting the baby against germs and excessive heat. The invention may be highly portable and can be folded into the size of a portable umbrella for easy storage and transport. It may be machine washable. The exact specifications may vary.
[0010] The foregoing description of specific embodiments of the present invention has been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
