Description:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to computer covers, and in particular to a cover for packaging and supporting a flat computer which provides an upper cover being used as both a cover and a supporter so that a flat computer packing therein can be well protected and can be supported as any desired orientation.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Flat computers are a main trend in application of computers. The percentage of flat computers over the computers is increased gradually. iPad Smart Cover is a kind of cover for protecting the screen of the iPad. The backside of the iPad is not covered by the iPad Smart Cover. However in many applications of the iPad, the flat computer is needed to stand at a desired orientation for displaying. Generally, a user finds a supporter to support the flat computer or take it at hand. However this is inconvenient for users.
[0003] Thus if there is a device which can be used as a cover and a supporter, it will provide a great convenience to the users.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide a cover for packaging and supporting a flat computer, wherein the upper cover other than as a cover for protection of the computer screen, but also it can be provided as a supporter for supporting the computer at any desired orientation. Thus the user is unnecessary to prepare or find a supporter. It provides convenience to the users.
[0005] To achieve above object, the present invention provides a cover for packaging and supporting a flat computer. The cover comprises a lower casing for protecting a flat computer; an upper cover rotatably connected to the lower casing for protecting the screen of the flat computer from damage; the upper cover being formed with at least one foldable line for folding the upper cover along the foldable line; wherein the upper cover is used as a cover and a supporter; the upper cover rotates along the lower casing with an angle greater than 180 degrees; the lower casing is folded along the foldable lines so as to be formed as a supporter of the lower casing for supporting the flat computer therein; thus the computer can stand; the angle between the upper cover and the lower casing is adjustable so as to control the standing height of the flat computer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be provided in the following in details. However, these descriptions and the appended drawings are only used to cause those skilled in the art to understand the objects, features, and characteristics of the present invention, but not to be used to confine the scope and spirit of the present invention defined in the appended claims.
[0016] A lower casing 10 serves for protecting a flat computer. A periphery of the lower casing 10 is formed with a frame 11 for enclosing a flat computer completely so as to isolate damages from external sources, powders, evaporations, and damage from collision. The frame 11 and lower casing 10 are formed with a plurality of holes, one hole 14 serves for exposing a USB slot, one hole 12 for sound transmission, and other holes 13 for heat dissipation and other functions.
[0017] An upper cover 20 is pivotally connected to the lower casing 10 for protecting the screen of the flat computer from damage. The upper cover 20 is formed with at least one foldable line 21. The number of the foldable lines is designed as desired. Furthermore, in the present invention, the upper cover 20 can be attached to the lower casing 10 by magnets embedded in the lower casing 10 or in the upper cover 20.
[0018] In this embodiment, the upper cover 20 has three foldable lines 21 so that the upper cover 20 is foldable along these foldable lines 21. A far edge of the upper cover 20 far away from another edge connectable to the lower casing 10 has a point as an intersect point. Two foldable lines are initiated from this intersect point to the two ends of the edge connected to the lower casing 10. Another foldable line is initiated from the intersect point to a lateral side adjacent to the far edge so that the upper cover 20 is divided into four sections 21, 22, 23 and 24 by the three foldable lines. The areas between the four sections 21, 22, 23 and 24 are weak areas so that the lower casing 10 is foldable along these areas. In the present invention, the third foldable line between the sections 21, 22 can be neglected so that only three sections are left.
[0019] FIG. 2 shows the use of the present invention, in that a flat computer 30 is placed into the lower casing 10. FIG. 3 shows another use of the present invention, in that the upper cover 20 covers upon the lower casing 10 for protecting the flat computer.
[0020] FIG. 4 shows that the upper cover 20 can be used as a supporter. The upper cover 20 rotates along the lower casing 10 with an angle greater than 180 degrees. The lower casing 10 is folded along the two foldable lines so as to be formed as a triangle cone so as supporter of the lower casing 10 for supporting the flat computer. Thus the computer can stand. The angle between the upper cover 20 and the lower casing 10 is adjustable so as to control the standing height of the flat computer.
[0021] FIG. 5 shows that the flat computer can be arranged along a transversal direction. Thus the flat computer 30 can be arranged on a table for a long time without being held by a hand and no supporting frame is used.
[0022] In the present invention, the foldable lines are confined to above example. Other foldable lines are useful.
[0023] FIG. 6 shows that fordable lines formed with a shape of polygonal shape. The design is also within the scope of the present invention. In this embodiment, the upper cover 50 is formed by two triangular shapes 51, 53 and one trapezoidal shape 52.
[0024] FIGS. 7 and 8 show another embodiment of the present invention in that the upper cover 40 is divided into three triangular shapes 41, 42, 43 and two oblong shapes 44, 45. The foldable lines are formed by a following way: a foldable line H approximately parallel to the lower side of the upper cover 20 passes through a point P which is located near a lower side of the upper cover 20; then two foldable lines Q, R extend from the point P to the upper corners of the upper side of the upper cover 20 so as to divide the upper cover into three triangular sections 41, 42 and 43; another foldable lines V extend downwards from the point P to the lower side of the upper cover so as to divide a lower portion of the upper cover 20 into two oblong sections 44, 45; these sections are connected flexibly so that the adjacent sections are foldable with respective to one another; the three triangular sections 41, 42, 43 include two approximately right triangles (41 and 43) clamping an approximately isosceles triangle 42; a bottom side of each right triangle 41, 43 is adjacent to a corresponding oblong sections 45, 44; and the areas between the different sections of the upper cover have weak structures so that they are folded to one another. The three triangular shapes 41, 42, 43 includes two right triangles 41, 42 clamping an isosceles triangle 42. A bottom of each right triangles 41, 42 is adjacent to a corresponding oblong shape 44, 45. The areas between the different shapes of the lower casing has a weak structure so that the upper cover is foldable along these weak areas. FIG. 8 shows the way for folding the upper cover 20.
[0025] FIG. 9 shows a further embodiment of the present invention, in that the upper cover 60 is formed by five triangles 61, 62, 63, 64 and 65. A point P near a center of the upper cover 60 is radiated with four lines Q, R, S and T to four corners of the upper cover 60 so as to form with four foldable lines and these four foldable lines form with four triangles which are triangles 61, 62, 63, and a triangle including 64 and 65. Then a foldable line U extending from the point P to the lower edge of the upper cover divides the triangle near a lower edge of the upper cover 60 into two approximately equal triangles so as to form the five triangles 61, 62, 63, 64 and 65.
[0026] Advantages of the present invention is that the upper cover other than as a cover for protection of the computer screen, but also it can be provided as a supporter for supporting the computer at any desired orientation. Thus the user is unnecessary to prepare or find a supporter. It provides convenience to the users.
[0027] The present invention is thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims
