BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] 1. Field of Invention

[0003] The present invention relates to a cap that is used to seal an open bottle for storage or while consuming a bottled beverage.

[0004] 2. Description of Related Art

[0005] The use of a bottle cap for closures is a well-known device to close and seal the opening of a beverage bottle. Many of these closures are small circular openings that are sealed to the opening of the bottle to protect the contents thereof. The traditional bottle cap is designed to press over and around the top of a glass bottle and gasp a small flange on the bottleneck. This original crown cork is the subject matter of U.S. Pat. No. 468,258. The seal of the bottle cap helps to seal the contents of the bottle prior to consumption. Many times the bottle cap is made of metal and provides a seal to maintain the carbonation that maybe associated with the beverage.

[0006] One drawback to the conventional bottle cap is that once the cap is removed any carbonation that may be within the beverage dissipates. This dissipation is usually not a problem for an individual who is consuming the beverage immediately however if the individual wants to consume a beverage over a period of time, the beverage may become flat and therefore change the overall taste and enjoyment for the user. Consequently, in order to preserve the beverage's taste it would be advantageous to have replacement cap that could be used to seal the bottle once the original metal cap is removed. Although some devices have been developed to seal a bottle there's still further development that is necessary to provide the consumer with a device that can seal an opened bottle during the consumption thereof.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The present invention relates to a replacement bottle cap comprising: a cap seal, where the cap seal is at the center of the bottle cap; and a center portion within the cap seal, where the cap seal includes a conical shape to firmly seal the cap onto an opening of a bottle neck. The cap seal includes a diminishing diameter, where the diminishing diameter provides a means to seal the opening.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0008] FIG. 1 depicts a bottom view of a bottle cap according to the present invention.

[0009] FIG. 2 depicts a perspective view of the bottle cap according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0010] The present invention relates to a cap that seals an open bottle to prevent the beverage from losing its character and also to keep outside objects from entering the bottle or beverage. The present invention is a small rubber cap that fits snuggly over the neck of the bottle. The cap provides a tight seal of the bottle opening to ensure that the beverages maintain their integrity after a portion of the beverage is consumed. The cap according to the present invention is pressed over the bottle opening and seals off the bottle to prevent exposure to outside objects.

[0011] In reference to FIG. 1, a bottom view of a Bottle Cap 20 is depicted. The Cap 20 includes a Cap Seal 25 at the center of the Cap 20. The Cap Seal 25 includes a Center Portion 21. In one particular embodiment, the Cap Seal 25 includes a conical shape that helps provide a snug fit of the cap over a bottle opening. A diminishing diameter of the conic shape of the Cap Seal 25 firmly adheres to the bottle opening in order to seal the opening after the consumption of a portion of the beverage within the bottle.

[0012] FIG. 2 depicts a perspective view of the Cap 20 when used with the Bottle 30. In this particular embodiment, the Cap 20 has a decorative or unique design that resembles a cowboy-style hat. The Cap 20 seals off the opening of the Bottle 30 as depicted. The Cap 20 provides a removal bottle opener that avoids waste of the beverages within the bottle. Once the Cap 20 is placed on the Bottle 30, the beverage within the bottle remains fresh and limits the exposure of the beverage to ambient air. Further the contents of the bottle maybe maintain in a refrigerator or cooler until further consumption is desired. Although depicted as a cowboy cap the Cap 20 may include other design configurations for aesthetic and appealing purposes for the consumer.

[0013] The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
