Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The invention pertains to the cosmetic industry. A typical packaging of cosmetics supplies traditionally comprised pre-selected, fixed containers of cosmetic materials having a variety of both colors and types. However, individual users' tastes and needs vary widely.
[0002] Cosmetic materials available to the consumers in the market place are very numerous. The particular cosmetic assortment which an individual consumer purchases, is entirely dependent upon that consumer's subjective preferences. A typical consumer of cosmetics normally desires an assortment of cosmetics which includes the desired colors, tints and hues to satisfy the consumer's preferences, in particular to fit and complement that consumer's facial characteristics, skin and hair color and condition, and even clothes. Additionally, various types of cosmetics may be desirable, for example, shadows, mascara, foundations, lipstick, powder, blush, lip gloss and so on.
[0003] Consequently, the consumer would use only those cosmetics in a prepackaged cosmetic palette which met with their approval and therefore would waste those cosmetics which did not. This, of course, is costly to the consumer since the unused and wasted cosmetics were purchased together with desired cosmetics. My invention is intended to alleviate such wasteful practices and to ensure that consumers will have at their disposal a complete array of desired cosmetics. To accomplish this advantageous result, I provide a carrying case to accept a plurality of individual or prepackaged cosmetics so as to establish a Personal Cosmetic Palette (pCp).
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] This invention generally relates to a field of cases or kits for housing and carrying a plurality of individual cosmetic containers. More specifically, the present invention relates to an improved cosmetic carrying case wherein cosmetics, can be securely held in place thereby providing the user with a variety of cosmetic materials from which to choose. The Personal Cosmetic Palette is a palette that is packaged by the owner instead of being pre-packaged by a cosmetics manufacturer. The pCp allows the owner to create a personal palette with the products they already own. This added flexibility makes it possible to combine not only different types of products but many products from many different product lines. Unlike a conventional makeup bag, when the pCp is opened all items are accessible, secure and are arranged in a manner ready for application.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE PERSONAL COSMETIC PALETTE
[0005] FIG. 1 This figure shows the opened vinyl cover pCP with cosmetics attached securely to the loop fabric lining of base and top so as to establish a Personal Cosmetic Palette.
[0006] FIG. 2 This figure shows an opened wood pCP with art supplies attached to the loop fabric base and top so as to establish a Personal Cosmetic Palette.
[0007] FIG. 3 This figure shows a set of self adhesive hook fastenteners in the shape of coins and strips. They are attached to the cosmetic container and then attached to the pCP loop lining.
[0008] FIG. 4 This figure illustrates how the top and base are secured to each other by hinges on one edge and a latch on the other. This drawing shows the pCP made of wood with a vinyl outer covering.
[0009] FIG. 5 This figure illustrates how the base is secured to the top cover on three edges by a zipper and further illustrates an example of an aesthetic decoration on the outer surface of the pCp.
[0010] FIG. 6 This figure shows a wood case with aesthetic outer covering.
[0011] FIG. 7 This illustrates that the Personal Cosmetic Palette carrying cases are sized for different amounts of cosmetic items.
[0012] FIG. 8 A set of vinyl cover pCp's in a variety of different sizes and a "sticky pouch" with a hook fabric bottom that will attach to any pCP loop fabric lining.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0013] This invention generally relates to a field of cases or kits for housing and carrying a plurality of individual cosmetic containers. FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 illustrate an embodiment of the make-up case of this invention in an open position. In this embodiment the case is generally rectangular in shape. It comprises two compartments 1 and 2, connected with a hinge 4 or a zipper 5.
[0014] The Personal Cosmetic Palette is a carrying case or storage device lined with loop fabric. The user is supplied with hook fasteners of assorted shapes and sizes (FIG. 3) to attach to cosmetics and/or supplies that are then attached to the loop fabric lining of the case.
[0015] The Personal Cosmetic Palette is comprised of a top cover, a base, a lining, a closure and an optional handle and latch.
[0016] The case is constructed by connecting the top cover to the base by either a hinge or by a zipper. The base is then lined with loop fabric.
[0017] When a hinge connection is used the top and base are constructed of wood. The wood Case -Personal Cosmetic Palette is similar to a briefcase. This version is preferred by most cosmetic industry makeup artist because of the sturdiness. Each side is rectangular in shape and the depth of each side allows enough combined space for supplies of many different shapes and sizes. The wood cases are covered in a variety of fabrics and designs ranging from leatherette, vinyl, leather, decoupage and hand painted art 6. The inside is lined in Velcro loop fabric. Again the patent utility is not in the outer design, but in the inside Velcro lining use.
[0018] When a zipper connection is used the top and base are constructed of fabric, vinyl or leather. Both the wood and the fabric cases lay flat when opened.
[0019] Having described the present invention in connection with several embodiments thereof, modification will now suggest itself to those skilled in the art. As such, the invention is not to be limited to the described embodiments except as required by the appended claims.
