Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a hair ornament and, more particularly, to a hair ornament for mating with the shape of a head of a user while making a hairstyle.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] A beautiful hairstyle provides a person with an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Ornaments can ornate the hairstyles and have various types including hair pins, hair bands, barrettes, etc. However, the bodies of the ornaments are exposed, leading to an adverse affect to the appearance. Furthermore, conventional ornaments can not mate with the shapes of the heads of the users. For example, it is difficult to move the upper portion of the hair of the user upward or to move the hair at a flat back of the head of the user rearward.

[0005] Thus, a need exists for a hair ornament for mating with the shape of the head of the user while making a hairstyle.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0035] With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a hair ornament of a first embodiment according to the preferred teachings of the present invention includes a body 1 having an inner layer 11 and an outer layer 12. The inner layer 11 is in the form of a lump made of sponge, cloth, or other soft material. The inner layer 11 has a bottom side having a curvature mating with a shape of a head of a user. The outer layer 12 covers the inner layer 11 and includes a hook or loop fastener 123 provided on a top face 121 thereof corresponding to a top side of the inner layer 11. The outer layer 12 further includes a hook or loop fastener 124 provided on a bottom face 122 thereof corresponding to the bottom side of the inner layer 11. The outer layer 12 can be engaged with the inner layer 11 by stitching, bonding, or other suitable provisions.

[0036] With reference to FIGS. 3-5, in use, a user can unfold a portion of hair of a head of the user and then place the body 1 between upper and lower portions 21 and 22 of the hair. The hook or loop fastener 124 at the bottom face 122 of the hair ornament engages with the lower portion 22 of the hair of the user. Then, the user covers the body 1 with the upper portion of the hair with the hook or loop fastener 123 at the top face 121 of the body 1 engaged with the upper portion of the hair. Thus, the body 1 is completely concealed in the hair of the user, providing an aesthetically pleasing effect while the body 1 increases the overall height of the hair of the user.

[0037] With reference to FIG. 6, in a case that the head of the user has a flat back, the user can mount the body 1 to the flat back of the head to present a visual effect.

[0038] With reference to FIG. 7, a user can mount two bodies 1 to two sides of the flat back of the head to present another visual effect.

[0039] It can be appreciated that the curvature of the bottom face 122 of the outer layer 12 mates with the shape of the head of the user, so that the engaging effect between the hook or loop fastener 124 and the lower portion 22 of the hair can be enhanced without adversely affecting the wearing comfort. Furthermore, the inner layer 12 made of soft material provides enhanced wearing safety and wearing comfort.

Through use of the bodies 3, the hair of the user can protrude upward or rearward to provide desired visual effect.

[0042] With reference to FIGS. 11 and 12, two bodies 3 can be assembled side by side to increase the overall width. When the side-by-side bodies 3 are placed in the hair of a user, the hook or loop fasteners 323 at the top faces 321 of the bodies 3 engage with the upper portion 21 of the hair of the user, and the hook or loop fasteners 324 at the bottom faces 322 of the bodies 3 engage with the lower portion 22 of the hair of the user. Through use of the bodies 3, the hair of the user can protrude upward or rearward to provide desired visual effect.

[0043] Furthermore, three bodies 3 can be stacked in a manner shown in FIG. 13, increasing the overall height and the overall width for presenting a desired hairstyle, as shown in FIG. 14.

[0044] With reference to FIG. 15 showing a third embodiment according to the preferred teachings of the present invention, one of the bodies 3 can include hook or loop fastener 326 at a side 325 thereof, and the other body 3 can include hook or loop fastener 326 at another side 325 facing the side 325 of the body 3. Thus, the hook or loop fasteners 326 of the two bodies 3 can engage with each other when the bodies 3 are assembled side by side, providing enhanced assembling stability.
