11. The brassiere cup support according to claim 10, wherein the upper lip is formed on and protrudes up from the inner edge.

Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The invention relates to a breast support, and more particularly, to a brassiere cup support a breast, make the user more comfortable and increase manufacturing efficiency.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Usually, a conventional brassiere underwire provides support and shape to a brassiere cup, and is mounted in fabric sleeves formed at a lower edge of the brassier cup, is made of rigid material and is uncomfortable.

[0003] Conventional underwires are sewn into the fabric sleeves directly or are covered by fabric and are then sewn into the lower edges of the brassiere cups. Notwithstanding which of the foregoing method is used, the underwire must be rigid to provide support. Usually, the entire underwire is equal hardness and is a metal strip, which makes the underwire uncomfortable to a person wearing the brassiere.

[0004] Furthermore, fabric to cushion the underwire must be thick and may have many layers that would also lower the manufacturing efficiency. Moreover, the fabric must be cut to provide a form fit which causes waste and increases cost.

[0005] Therefore, a person knowledgeable in the art will appreciate that a need exists for new and improved brassiere cup underwire that are more comfortable, increase the manufacturing efficiency and decrease waste.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The main objective of a brassiere cup support is to support a person's breast, improve manufacturing efficiency and be more comfortable to a person wearing the brassiere cup support.

[0007] The brassiere cup support in accordance with the present invention supports and squeezes a person's breast comfortably. The brassiere cup support comprises a cover and a curved support. The cover corresponds to a bottom edge of a brassiere cup, is a tube, is a flexible material and comprises a lower lip, an upper lip, an inner end and an outer end. The lower lip has an inner edge and a longitudinal cavity. The longitudinal cavity is formed longitudinally through the cover. The curved support is mounted in the longitudinal cavity between the inner end and the outer end of the cover and comprises a cleavage section, an armpit section and a middle section. The curved support is slightly thinner at the cleavage section.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a brassiere cup support in accordance with the present invention;

[0009] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the brassiere cup support in FIG. 1;

[0010] FIG. 3 is an operational side view of the brassiere cup support in FIG. 1; and

[0011] FIG. 4 is an operational perspective view of a brassiere with the brassiere cup support in FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0012] With reference to FIGS. 1, 2 and 4, a brassiere cup support (1) is mounted at a bottom edge of a brassiere cup (2), squeezes a person's breasts together and comprises a cover (10) and a curved support (11).

[0013] With further reference to FIG. 3, the cover (10) is a tube, is a flexible material, corresponds to the bottom edge of the brassiere cup (2), may be extruded and comprises a lower lip (101), an upper lip (102), an inner end (103) and an outer end (104).

[0014] The lower lip (101) comfortably fits against a person's body and has an inner edge (1011) and a longitudinal cavity (1012). The longitudinal cavity (1012) is formed longitudinally through the cover (10).

[0015] The upper lip (102) is formed on and protrudes up from the inner edge (1011) and contacts and supports a lower portion of a person's breast.

[0016] The curved support (11) is mounted in the longitudinal cavity (1012) between the inner end (103) and the outer end (104) of the cover (10), is a wire and comprises a cleavage section (111), an armpit section (112) and a middle section (113). The wire is longitudinally resilient, maintains a longitudinal curve and may be metal or a polymer.

[0017] The cleavage section (111) is the thinnest and the most flexible. The armpit section (112) is the thickest, stiffest and the most rigid.

[0018] The middle section (113) is thicker than the cleavage section (111) and thinner than the armpit section (112). Consequently, resilience of the middle section (113) is between resilience of the cleavage section (111) and the armpit section (112).

[0019] A person knowledgeable in the art will understand that various changes can be made without departing from the broad spirit and scope of the invention. The above-described embodiment is intended to illustrate the present invention and not to limit the scope of the present invention.
